Best fights of the year sof far?

I know we have still to see cotto/mosley and hatton/mayweather - but it is approaching the end of the year and i was intersted to know what you guys thought were the top 5 fights of the year so far - you don't have to put them in any particular order.

mine would prob be:

vazquez/marquez 2
judah/cotto
calzaghe/kessler(mainly because i was there)
williams/margarito
taylor/spinks(just kidding)

Well I thought Pavlik/Miranda would be in there also, damn good fight.

I also did not see the fight between Israel Vasquez vs Rafael Marquez which is why some people may be wondering why that's not on my list.

While we're on the best of 2007, i'll share my big letdowns as well (in no particular order).

*Manny Pacquiao vs Marco Antonio Barrera - Barrera ran the whole fight and made me that much more of an Erik Morales fan.

*Bernard Hopkins vs Winky Wright - More hugging than the honeymoon phase between me and my girlfriend.

*Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather - Floyd picking his shots and De La Hoya not being aggressive enough.

*Jermaine Taylor vs Cory Spinks - self-explanatory...if you see Cory Spinks' name, break out your favorite pillow

Rafa vs. Israel II - Round 3 alone beats any round in any fight of this year. FOTY and Round 3 as Round Of the Year.

That Vasquez/Marquez round 3 is a great round. I do think that Coordington/Bika round 1 and Katsidis/Earl round 4 were just as good. Going to be hard to pick round of the year.

LHeavy adrian diaconu ( i like this fighters strength, has strong legs . good power)

superm mikkel kessler great match with calzaghe.. props to calzaghe excellent win however i like
kesslers traditional style better , southpaws are not my favorite to watch..

jr middle joshua clottey reminds me of ike quartey only bigger

feather the ghost robert guerrero he is a southpaw, however not as awkard to watch as most , the man is big on offense.. i like that.

My vote would go with Taylor-Pavlik though. That fight had me on the edge of my seat. Although since I fly over tomorrow, I'm hoping Cotto-Mosley is better ;D

I'd like to add Katsidis Earl/Amonosot. Ndou-Rabah,Calderon Cazares and the fight on their undercard too.

Ahhhh so many good fights this year. I've split them into 2 categories.

Excitement = Katsidis v Earl/Amonsot, Vasquez v Marquez, Taylor v Pavlik, Cotto v Judah plus a million others I can't even think of.

Spectacle = Mayweather v De La Hoya, Pac v Barrera II, Calzaghe v Kessler.

Fight of the year so far.... has to be Calzaghe v Kessler. For me it's up there with some of the best fights ever in terms of skill, bloodless wars. Leonard v Duran I, Roy Jones v Bernard Hopkins, Calzaghe v Kessler. See, it fits right in there.

Kessler/Andrade was a damn good fight also.

Did you guys not see the fight last night?
Bika vs Condrington to me was the FOTY.

Both guys down in the first round. Both out on their feet many times throughout the fight.
There was not one moment when the fight did not look like it would end with the next punch.
They both gave it everything they had. There were times I thought they both were going to hit the canvas at the same time.
If you did not see this fight, you got to watch it.

Bika vs. Codrington was the best fight of all three of the contender series by far.

2007 has been a hell of a year.

I might just pull this one out of the HD and see it again cause honestly I just remember a pretty damn! one sided fight with Carlos throwing 1 punch at time and occasionally landing a punch.

your right cutememick about it being onesided, but i think what ice is getting at was exciting becuase forrest did bring it most of the fight, giving carlos some chances to win ... an exciting onesided fight if you will .

Judah Cotto for me. Cotto fought the bravest Zab we have ever seen and got a good result. Zab gained some respect too.

Yeah there have been great 'Bouts' this year but a fights a FIGHT and f*ck me that was a proper fight while it lasted ;)
