Perfect score, except maybe for 5. Moravia is a good answer. The quiz I copied had an answer of Bohemia. However a quick bit of googling seems to indicate that it's a toss up area between Moravia and Bohemia, both are regions that currently occupy Czech Republic, historically it is not clear to me which answer is better. So I guess we have to say perfect score, well done.

Well, from this island you can see Monserrat on a clear day. But this is a tough one. Unless you have already seen a pic, it would be hard to just guess.
I have seen it written that Columbus visited this Island in 1493. Also, about 12-13,000 people live here.

Re: A little history/geography quiz
Nah .... unless its Easter Island or Rapa Nui, you've got me on this one! Even they are guesses.
-
Re: A little history/geography quiz
Well, don't know Rapa Nui, but Easter Island and Monserrat are thousands of miles apart.
Anyways, the answer is Nevis, in the West Indies, Caribbean.

Re: A little history/geography quiz
OK here's one.
This disaster is generally regarded as the biggest/worst ever accidental man made explosion. It was also the biggest ever man made explosion, accidental or intentional, prior to the atomic bomb.

Re: A little history/geography quiz
When two ships collided in Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia during WW1?
The meteor strike in Tunguska, Siberia, was the biggest explosion full stop (ie not man made)

Re: A little history/geography quiz
right you are, X. Here's a little summary I typed up.
The disaster is known simply as the Halifax Explosion. In 1917, a ship laden with 2.6 million kilograms of explosives for use in World War I caught fire after a collision and exploded in Halifax Harbour.
Approximately 2,000 people were killed, 1,600 instantly, and 9,000 people injured. The explosion completely demolished an area of Halifax approx 1.5 square kilometres. A piece of metal debris from the ship weighing over 500 kilograms (1,100 lbs) was found 2.3 miles away.
The size of the explosion is said to be roughly equivalent to 3,000 tons of TNT.
If you google Halifax Explosion, you will find plenty of info and pictures.

Didn't Pategonia used to be populated by giants? Probably it was them ;D
I seem to remember some kind of story about some kind of white migrants of the 16th or 17th century, damned if I can remember what they were called though.
