Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott

Looks like Mitchell cant make 125 any more and his fight with Ricky Burns on the Khan bill is off, Warren is trying to get him a title eliminator against Prescott.

I dont rate Prescott that highly but Mitchell I feel has a style to suit Presscott and might well get ktfo, would be a great fight though.

The fight I would love to see is Murray/Mitchell what a tear up that would be.

Kevin Mitchell could be in line for a world title shot - if he beats Amir Khan conqueror Breidis Prescott.

Promoter Frank Warren says he has matched the pair in a world title eliminator, although no more details of the fight are available.

Mitchell is currently riding high at super-featherweight with the WBO, and has long targeted a fight for that belt.

The British champion has suffered a number of injuries since winning his title 18 months ago, and has given up his Commonwealth belt.

But he is now fully fit and looking to build on a series of impressive KO victories.

The 25-year-old, who last boxed when he halted Rudy Encarnacion at the MEN Arena in July, has a 29-0 record with 22 stoppages.

Prescott sprang to fame when he handed Khan his first defeat in September of last year, a spectacular first round KO in Manchester.

The Colombian, 26, has boxed twice since, beating Humberto Toledo before losing a split decision to Miguel Vazquez in July and now stands at 21-1 (18 )

He is scheduled to fight for the WBO Intercontinental title at light-welterweight in Russia, although is more used to campaigning at lightweight.

This wont happen. There'll be an excuse along the line when one of them loses. Also Warren's fighters rarely (if ever?) fight Hennessey fighters.

Hennessey is a joke.

Prescott will Ko Mitchell so i wouldn't worry to much about him leap frogging John Murray. Mitchell takes to many head shots now and that aint good against Breidis Prescott.

I like Mitchell,with him moving up he should gain more power in his shots.Yeah Mitchell vs Murray would be absolute war,great domestic fight.Great to see Mitchell on the mend after having a op on his hand.Missed him.I always wanted Mitchell vs Khan about 2years ago but their avoided each other.

Just what I was thinking. Prescott KO win against Mitchell.

I doubt this fight happens. Would be a good fight if it did but I see Prescott losing his next match to Provodnikov in Russia, therefore ruining Warren's plans.

To be fair though (& I say this as someone who hates Mick Hennessy) he is actually a pretty powerful promoter on the European scene & has suction with the WBC, all of which makes it hard to understand why he's done so little with Murray. It seems all he seems bothered to do is pretend he wants his guys to fight a Warren fighter (Murray with Khan & the alleged £5m guarantee for Calzaghe to fight Froch), & then take his time actually getting them a shot.

If this fight happens Prescott earns a KO

Style wise Prescott has the advantage because he's lankier...

But who's to say Mitchell doesn't catch him 1st?

I'm rooting for Mitchell on this one. I think he's due for a title shot.

It's just started and I'm pretty up for this, I think Kevin can win I just need to see how he takes Prescotts punches but I think he can win this comfortably with his boxing skills.

Kevin needs to establish his jab and work from there...

I'm with you... Kevin needs to box and be smart.

Prescott will get frustrated and will just box out of anger/frsutration.

He's throwing a good jab but no follow up.

All Prescott has is that looping right hand. His power is overrated as well IMO. Not saying he won't beat/stop Mitchell, but he's been unimpressive since beating Khan.

This is the first time I've seen Mitchell and I'm pretty impressed so far. I thought he was a face-first brawler with no defense, but he's boxing well.
