April 27
At Austin, Texas (ESPN2/ESPN3): Ismayl Sillakh vs. Denis Grachev, 10 rounds, light heavyweights; Javier Fortuna vs. Yuandale Evans, 10 rounds, junior lightweights; Nick Gonzalez vs. Cory Yett, 4 rounds, welterweights

At Miami, Okla. (Showtime): Thomas Oosthuizen vs. Marcus Johnson, 10 rounds, super middleweights; Orlando Del Valle vs. Christopher Martin, 10 rounds, junior featherweights; Jose Pedraza vs. Gil Garcia, 8 rounds, junior lightweights.
There should be some decent action in these fights tonight, i've got a couple bottles of Beck's chillin' in the 'fridge.

Mars I've noticed I disagree with some of your opinons, but I sure as heck like your choices in beer.

Well thanks armin. (I guess ;) )
I love imported beer, Beck's, Pauli Girl and other German brews, Newcastle Brown Ale, Bass Ale, Guinness, and others from the UK. It might sound like i'm drunk all the time from reading my posts, but I generally only drink something when good fights are on or 3 or 4 times a month. And then it's usually not over 2 beers or a couple shots of Crown Royal with a Pepsi Max chaser. I get a mild buzz and it relaxes me, plus beer goes well with boxing.
As for my opinions, they seem normal, at least to me, but I can see how someone else might not agree. These days i'll admit to being pretty set in my ways, anyway sorry for the rant.
cheers

Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
FNF is starting....anybody else watching
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
No losses for any of the guys on the card? Should be interesting. Sillakh is a beast looking forward to seeing him in action again.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Alrighty, here we go with tonight's ESPN card from the Capital of Texas, = Austin, home of the University of Texas Longhorns, Hook 'um horns!
Bernardo and Teddy calling the action, first up on the ESPN card, Javier Fortuna vs. Yuandale Evans, 10 rounds, junior lightweights.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
When Mayweather retires they'll always talk about how great he could have been if they hadn't taken away that 90 days he spent in county lock up. ;)
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
As long as Yuandale doesn't get caught jumping in, he should clean this guy out pretty easy.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Somebody's '0' must go, i'm thinking it may be Fortuna's.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Ahh...peace of mind  Sillakh looked good last out, shifty slick! Evans had a giant day old pot roast in Lucero last time, Fortuna should make him hunt for it.

Well that's about as wrong as I've ever been. ;D
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Wow, 1st round KO, Fortuna demolishes Yuandale.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th

I predicted the exact same thing. Damn. That was brutal.

Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Excited about watching the Black Russian!
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Since that fight's over early...what was up with that glasses rant by Teddy?
It seems he's just looking for something to bitch about ;D
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
It's hard to tell this early, but Fortuna looks like a great prospect @ Jr. Lightweight. I wish that fight would have gone a few rounds.

Teddy can be a bitch, but at least he's passionate about boxing.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
HBO2 is showing Mayweather-Corrales right now for those interested.

Hell of a finisher. Thought he looked the faster of the two easily so not sure what Teddy was on about. Look forward to seeing him again
Dawson sounds punchy ???

I'm always leary of jumping on quick KO guys, Derrick Wilson comes to mind.

Dawson - Hopkins should be worth watching tomorrow night, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yup, what comes around goes around.

Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Montes has two left legs in there. Like a new born gazelle.
I'd bet money on seeing fireworks in Dawson-Hopkins before its over.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
It doesn't look like Montes will put Laredo on the map tonight, and besides Mexican drug smugglers have already done that.
-
Hey Montes, it's ok to slip or block the left hands.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
I see what you're saying Spicoli, it's almost like Montes knee caps are on the side.

They seem to hate each other, if the much younger Dawson fights up to his potential, and keeps the pressure on the old man he should win a decision, especially if he can score a KD or two.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Not bad. Let's see the main event.

Given time, B-Hop can break BCD down, Dawson just doesn't throw enough punches.

Did Cotto shave half his face?

Its really a great study in the two...Hopkins has been quite compared to past and every time Dawson does an interview it begins with complaining, ranting followed by him saying he doesn't dwell on things etc ?!
If Dawson dreams of winning he'll have to finally escape the word "IF". I think Hopkins is already timing the rounds on him..

Yeah, that's his biggest flaw, he's lazy, if he expects to beat Hop he'd better fight 3 minutes of every round, or Hop will steal a decision.

Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Here we go with ESPN's main event = Ismayl Sillakh vs. Denis Grachev.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
This looks like a mismatch.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Right off the bat the terms...stiff and stand-up come to mind. He might just turn into a heavy bag before we know it :-X
Sillakh has fun in there, he's loose and easy flowing.
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Sillakh reminds me of Campillo. Big time. Have to love thinkers with range
Teddy hack, ol' school style at 10:16 pm ;D
-
Re: ESPN and Showtime FNF thread for April 27th
Denis Grachev knocked down in the 3rd, he's just too small, too slow and he's coming in wide open. I can't see this fight going more then a few more rounds.
