Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
This fight is for the vacant WBO lightweight title - Flanagan (27-0/10 ko's) ranked 1, Zepeda (23-0/20 ko's) 2.
Just taking a look at Zepeda (naturally looking for a bet). Get this, according to boxrec Zepeda has never weighed below 140. How about that for a mad one? Have 20 odd fights at 140 but get ranked at 135.
Now... will he have a big size advantage on the night or be dead at the weight? He can obviously bang a bit.
Flan - 8/11
Zep - 5/4
Anyway.....

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
I saw on Boxrec Zepeda's ranked at Welterweight. On paper this looks a tough assignment for him but I've been fairly impressed with Flanagan thus far. Zepeda might be dangerous early but the longer it goes it'll be Terry's fight. Good fight and a decentish card. Chisora vs. Ustinov might be interesting too.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Just seen that Chisora doesn't seem to be fighting but Ustinov is? Any word on why this was cancelled?

The big lummox has signed with Warren

Im guessing Chisora is being lined up for Joshua for the British title. A loss to Ustinov would ruin that fights potential.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Chisora changed his mind and chose to withdraw. Ustinov is now fighting Travis Walker on the Manchester bill.

These BoxNation cards really go under the radar.
Flanagan could become "world" champ tonight yet would be less known than a Matchroom novice.

An interesting fight. Will making Lightweight hurt Zepeda? How good is either guy? Leaning towards Zepeda.

It doesnt help that his cards are so pathetic. Apart from the main event the most compettitve fight is a 1/6 shot/ His card in dublin last week was worse.

Under the radar equals under promoted, which money grubbing lout is to blame for that?

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Feels like I haven't watched any boxing in a while, looking forward to this one. Again, I echo that it feels as though I've seen less of Flanagan than any other British title challenger in a few years, and I do watch a fair few of the Boxnation cards.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
His last fight was against Ormond in Wolves on a shit card infront of fuck all people. It made no sense at all. Would have sold very well in dublin and probably well in Manchester. Warren has just lost it I think. He'll likely go the way of Kellie Maloney soon enough.

True... although you set the odds. (:D)
BoxNation is good for international content but for UK fighters it's pony.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
You see that then. Rawling said there is a internet rumour going around that Ustinov is going to fight Chisora. It was more than a rumour, there was a press conference and a contract signed to say they'd fight on this card. This just BoxNation trying to protect Chisora?
Ustinov's Promoter Says Chisora Already Going Bonkers - Boxing News
Also notice how they keep bigging up the Butler-Conlan clash and ignoring the fact that Hearn won a purse bid for Yafai vs. Butler? Absolutely no chance Warren allows Butler to fight Yafai on a Hearn card.
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
They lost the purse bids then had Butler pretending he never knew anything about the fight and saying he's not fighting for peanuts. Embarrassing.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Liam Walsh was lined up for Burns world title by Warren a few years ago. What on earth is Warren doing with him? I've heard Warren say he's hopeful of Flanagan vs. Walsh for the WBO title in Flanagan wins tonight.

You back anything in main event yet? Decent gamble on Zepeda. I went with Flanagan points at 13/8 and UD at 3/1

I have a small double on Zapeda/Thurman KO double. Thought the general 2/1 for Zapeda is a bit stingy
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Farnell said people mentioning Butler's name and he's above British level (i.e. Yafai) but his people keep mentioning Conlan. Go figure...

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Nice treat. I've only seen Catteral once before.

Not a big fan of two southpaws duking it out the majority of the time. Its highlighted for me when one is a slow and sloppy mess.

Good matchmaking. They found a guy that would get sacked from a circus

No shit eh. I bet he cant even get a fight in Argentina.
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Flanagan is in tough. I think he can get this on points. His chin seems fine but I'd keep it tucked in. Don't be stepping straight back against this character

PiƱata and Chag about to throw down. I cant watch two feeds at once and it will no doubt be a waste of bandwith.

Jose coming into the ring.
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
That should be a no-contest
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Damn that sucks. They may be celebrating early. It could be ruled a NC.

I just turned the volume on and I dont think the ring side crew know what they are talking about. Even if they hand it to him now imo there is a strong chance that it gets reversed.

Wow!!!

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Yeah the replays show the bone popping out as their arms cross, but it'll take a better man than me to confirm it should have been a NC rather than a TKO. Not 100% sure how that should have gone down, although it seems strange for Flanagan to be walking away after two rounds and an accidental injury.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
These cunts are acting like that was a legit win. Herol Graham fought McCallum and Jackson for "world" titles, this geezer wins a "world" title because his opponent busts his shoulder after 6 minutes and the pundits are celebrating like he just ironed out Floyd

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
The "self injured" rule could apply but it seems ambiguous at best. I hope Terry does the honourable thing and gives him a speedy rematch. One would think that if the Wbo was going to let him keep the thing they would order it and not even allow him an optional.
Ps- It really makes you appreciate how tough Pascal is. He completely lost his shoulder three times in that Diaconu fight and put it back in. I'd probably pass put.

The rematch is the right way to go in this instance. I think there are different grades of shoulders popping out of their sockets, and this was definitely quite a severe one, so I don't think the rematch will be Flanagan's next fight however. A nice interesting domestic dust up would be great, then on to the Zepeda rematch.
Shoulder dislocations are a tough thing to judge through, in some cases Zepeda might never gain the full comfortable rotation before it came out.

Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Lol.. What a gift, little shit doesn't deserve it.
This is why I don't have boxnation.
This fight is not a headline fight.
-
Re: Terry Flanagan-Jose Zepeda --- WBO title. Sat/BN. Fact.
Zepeda injured himself what a pity it was looking to be a half decent fight,! if he gets a rematch he
may never be the same, looked a nasty dislocation anyhow Flanagan won, weather you like it or
not, far from the best out come, for a title fight yes disappointing at the end.
