Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
If Garcia wants to make a statement, he should fight Linares after he beats Croalla. Who wins?
Linares has good speed, but a weak chin. I see Garcia knocking him out.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Mikey Garcia is an absolute joy to watch. He is perfect with everything, balance, timing, precision and poise. A long time since I have seen anyone as good.
Garcia rips Jorge Linares to shreds and anyone else that gets in his way.
What a waste that he has been out of the ring for so long.
-
If Linares beats corolla then yes, it's a good fight to be made. Garcia will destroy him but it's still a good fight to be made.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Linares is essentially Amir Khan at lightweight, but with better stamina. All the skill and speed in the world, with little to no punch resistance. He will have his moments against Mikey due to his speed advantages, but no way does Jorge last the distance.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
There are some quality world class fights that can be made at the weight.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
impressive result that wasn't it from Garcia
I expected him to win but I thought it would go longer and be a bit of a struggle
wasn't tho was it? he absolutely smashed him to bits

That was the frightening thing about it. Garcia has been inactive and fought an undefeated fighter and just looked flawless and did not break sweat.
Awesome performance.

That's sheer natural ability.
Imagine how good he'd be if he had been active.

Lets not worry about the past and waste, lets appreciate that he is in the ring and providing joy to us all. :)

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
definitely one of the elite
lets hope he stays active
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Garcia has been clipped before and Linares has enough speed & pop to get there. I think it could be an exciting fight until Mikey catches Linares with something big and that'll be the end of it.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Garcia wins that fight all day.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Looks like this fight and the Cotto fight are dead as Mikey wouldn't sign with GBP.
Sounds like Easter is in the works tho. A very nice alternative.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Easter to fight Garcia or Linares? Either is a good option

I heard Golden Boy & Linares were now looking at Flanagan.

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
If Garcia and Linares don’t fight soon, Garcia will move up and the fight won’t ever be made.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
He beat up Broner for a reason and needs to stay 140. Love Linares talent and respect every step in the ring but he's a door prize in the mind of Arum. Garcia bigger fresher sharper. Who wants to collect trinkets in a division you've already left? weight is going to catch up to Garcia also, all this Crawford talk :-X.

With Crawford moving to 147 there's not much at 140 for Garcia. 135 at least has Linares and should Loma get past Rigo then that fight would be a natural.

Take Linares and clean up first, ride to highlight but either way I don't see Garcia maintaining 135 and being reasonably asked to wait on Loma. Arum wants to keep it all in house but doesn't necessarily translate to best realistic fights imo. Loma, Crawford and Garcia are all moving in the same up direction but at exact same time. Make Garcia vs Figuerora for now, I'll watch ;D

That would be fun. Figueroa's never in a dull fight but Garcia picks him apart. That fight would have to be at 147 as I don't see Omar ever making 140 again. If Linares/ Flanagan and Garcia/ Easter come off then a unification between the winners has to happen. Loma was already talking Flanagan at 135 in November last year so 135 won't be too far off.
I heard Rigo talking about the WBSS and how he thinks it's the future of the sport and he was interested in taking part next year. All these divisions could use the boost of these types of tournaments.

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Garcia stops Linares who’s had an easy ride beating overrated British fighters. He’s made nice money over here but his trip back to America won’t be so kind and he’s getting a reality check

So what!
Floyd the cunt has been doing it for years so allow Linares to beat up our (mainly) Sky inflated hyped up fighters and earn a lot of money in the process.
Linares last fight will probably be against Garcia.

Never said I had a problem with it  I’m just saying Garcia is a huge step up from the guys he’s been fighting (or has ever fought)

Garcia is a special fighter and Linares has been through some memorable wars.

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Sad watching GB become exactly like DK was and TR is, killing fights with 3 fight options. Here’s a thought, treat fighters fairly and they’ll stick with you.

Congratulations @Master , you've managed to keep up your record of posting his name at least once every day for the last 2 years! #onemancrusadetokeephissecretmancrushrelevant
Ps. shouldn't it be a capital "C" in Cunt? ;D;D;D

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Doesnt Garcia have no chance of fighting Crawford, Loma or any other Top Rank fighter because of his contractual dispute with Arum?
Shame because Garcia v Crawford would be one hell of a fight. 2 of my favorite fighters at the moment with Garcia definitely in my top 10 fav fighters of all time. 140 is a bit weak at the moment so Id prefer to see him at 136. Outside Easter, Flanagan and Linares there are still other good fights with Davis or Verdejo although pretty sure Garcia flattens all of them. Im not sure hes big enough for 147 although there are plenty of top fighters there I reckon he'd school.
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Garcia needs to get a move on and get a fight quick.

For some reason and of all fighting champs "easy ride" and Linares just doesn't roll off the tongue. Not every guy can have their 'overrated' British opponents imported to some Arena named after our mobile carriers in the States for them :-X.
More I watch I can't see Garcia - Linares as a first or second choice, Garcia is all over the map as he's been in Cotto crappy catch weight talk all the way to 135. Have to appreciate a meteoric return after time out and the man has many options. I'd like to see him more centered and for promotion to stop playing the shuffling deck with 4,5 rotating door weight divisions. It's like a Waffle house menu for Garcia and they need to eat already! Just went full Teddy.

Agreed. 135 offers great fights anyway. Linares, Loma has talked of a move to 135, Easter, if Davis stays out of prison and gets his head straight that possibility is there, Berchelt might move up. Lots of options and 147 is a bridge too far, and 140 will be rather hallow without Crawford. Nothing wrong with defending a title from time to time either.

I like Easter mixing with any of them. Also add Corrales based on not making weight depending on how tonight goes for him. Also at 135 I'd like to see Beltran get a shot. He and Davis might make for a shoot out. Agree 140 looks a ghost town after Crawford makes the jump, a jump long overdue. Big hopes for entertaining Orozco there but even he..yet another young gun granted the HBO stage, then losing it, blew weight and looks to be going to 147.

I am sure Linares does not discriminate and would be willing to beat Warren's fighters. Easier money than fight Garcia.

Linares v Flanagen is a really good fight. Flanagen is a lot better than Crolla and Campbell

I don't I think he is worse and has been protected.

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Solid unification fight and as long as winner keeps them..step to unified fighter is a plus..the styles should make for action. Still want Beltran to get a shot already!
-
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Jorge Linares.
Beltran is within reach again now, and is as deserving as anyone. I'd have Flanagan and Campbell on par with each other. A Linares/ Flanagan unification is a good fight since the Garcia bout fell though.
