Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Big test for BJS and it's the same night as GGG v Canelo, surely the winner of each fights for all the belts in a unification.
Daniel Dubois is also on the undercard so some top fights mid Sept.
I reckon the Saunders fight is gonna be a belter!

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I get the impression that this was going to be the first PPV for Box Nation.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
BJS is wasting his skills.
He needs regular fights.

I think he is just waiting for a big pay day against GGG and hand him the title. That has made him inactive and he is just treading water.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Cue Billy Joe to get beat by Monroe Jnr then complain that it was Golovkin he wanted and couldnt get motivated.
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Good fight on paper but a pony styles clash, two "powderpuff" slicksters.
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Might call this even money going in if only because the last time I saw pics of Saunders he resembled a bloated Seth Rogan and comes off with little focus.
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
He's with Dominic Ingle now and 3 weeks into a 12 week camp.
Ingle will have him 100% for this and we'll see the best version of BJS possible.
I just checked BT and Boxnations schedules and this one is free for BT customers but GGG v Canelo is PPV.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Monroe is pretty tricky. Saunders better be at his best or Monroe pips him.

Saunders will be at his best, he has a very lucrative fight next and he will not want to blow it.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Great fight and if BJS knuckles down it is a chance to get his name back in the mix

The damage (inactivity, blowing up between fights etc) may have already been done.

I think he is still young enough to get away with it but it does not matter against triple G, he will get ripped.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Thought this deserved a bump as we are only a few weeks from the fight

Cannot place it exactly but I don't like this guy. Maybe its him constantly licking his teeth but seems a bit of a twat. Might be that hair.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I was surprised to see Munroe has half the knockouts Billy Joe has and BJS isn’t even a puncher. So this fights guaranteed to go 12 and in England Munroe isn’t going to get any favours.
With that in mind he needs a pretty good gameplan and execute perfectly in order to get a decision. Anything close/not emphatic will surely go the Britons way.
Munroe did okay to go a few rounds with Golovkin but I agree with BJDS that he did give up in that fight. He wanted to be counted out and when he wasn’t he had to say to the ref “im done” Makes you wonder that if the next time he is in a hard fight if its easier for him to just throw in the towel now he’s already done it once. Luckily for him Billy wont put him under that sort of pressure and lacks the punch power of GGG so it’s a safe bet that he should be able to stick around in this fight.
They could both frustrate each other if it’s a standoff but the pressure is on the visiting fighter to make things happen which will play into Saunders hands. I can see Munroe getting picked off and out boxed in a nip and tuck fight where not much happens. He doesn’t have the power to turn it round either. Having said that BJS has afew questions top answer himself. He was appalling in his last fight. After inactivity and ballooning in weight, changing trainers etc there’s no reason to believe he is going to be much better in this fight as he was last time out. For that reason I can see an upset. I’m not convinced so much by what Munroe brings but I just think Saunders is a vulnerable champ at this stage and it won’t take a great to be him. The fight hangs in the balance. If BJS can’t turn back the clock he can lose his title on points. At the same time if Munroe doesn’t cease this opportunity and really go for it he will regret letting it go to a decision. Anyone say draw???

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Either way, whoever wins might as well hand the title over to GGG as he will get it next after he beats Canelo.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
undercard
Yarde v Nemesapati
The WBO Inter-Continental Light-Heavyweight Title
Dynamite punching Light-Heavyweight talent Anthony Yarde takes on Norbert Nemesapati for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental strap on September 16th.
'The Beast' Yarde (12-0, 11 KOs) aims to make it three belts in three fights at the East End venue. In May, Yarde claimed the Southern Arena belt by defeating Chris Hobbs and then added the WBO European crown in July with a first round demolition of Hungarian Richard Baranyi, claiming a number eight spot in the organisation’s World rankings.
The Iford man will not be taking his Hungarian opponent lightly. Nemesapati (25-6, 18 KOs) has only been stopped three times in 31 bouts and only to world class fighters.
Dubois - Carter
The Southern Area Heavyweight Title
Dynamite punching Light-Heavyweight talent Anthony Yarde is back on September 16th.
In May, Yarde (12-0, 11 KOs) claimed the Southern Arena belt by defeating Chris Hobbs and then added the WBO European crown in July with a first round demolition of Hungarian Richard Baranyi, claiming a number eight spot in the organisation’s World rankings.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I want to see Anthony Yarde again!

Just goes to show what people think of BJS. These are the first posts about this fight for about 4 days and we are in fight week. And nobody even mentioned BJS!

There is another fight which is kind of overshadowing this one as well though Primo

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I'm going out on a limb and calling an upset here.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Monroe has three big problems here.
1. However much of a tosser Billy Joe is it can't be denied he's an excellent thinking mans boxer.
2. Monroe can't punch (relative) / Saunders has never been on the deck (am or pro).
3. He's the away fighter with everything against him - crowd, promotion etc - so isn't gonna get any favours in the close rounds.
It's got "robbery" written all over it (even if Billy Joe schools him).
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Yarde's optimistic fans think Cleverly is a walkover job let alone Frank Buglioni whilst in the real world Yarde swerves a British title shot and gets matched with Callum Smith's leftover punchbag.

Spot on. Saunders ain't much of a puncher either and I can't get over how bad Saunders looked last out. Monroe is a pretty good boxer but he'll need to win the rounds convincingly.

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I never saw Saunders last fight fight (I was in hospital trying to snuff it) but everyone, including himself, says he was terrible. However, he's changed trainers/camps since then.
If only Monroe had a dig...
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I must admit Saunders loks in fantastic shape for this.

I didn't see it either, my first thought was that I missed it due to being out on the piss but looking back at the date of the fight it was when I had just moved into a new flat and I didn't have sky or virgin set up

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I found some shrapnel bets for Monroe
Monroe - MD 50/1, SD 25/1, Draw 28/1
Saunders moved to the other end of the country to train with the Ingles (Kell Brook's mob).
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Saunders is clearly ready to go.... rubbing Monroes baseball cap on his bollocks then throwing it back at him ;D;D;D;D;D

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I dont like the cunt but fair do's, BJS has got himself into cracking nick. Hopefully that translates into more than looking lean on Instagram and the fucker can actually fight for more than 12 minutes. If it's all sizzle and no steak, he'll be in trouble down the stretch, again.
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
BJS is a cunt who avoids the best and fights bums
That is all
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Forget GGG v Canelo , this has to be regarded as the linear MW title.
Both power punchers.

You got copyright on that?

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
That behaviour is better suited to the playground than a boxing gym on fight week
billy joe went abit low with the mom comment and was pretty childish putting a cap down his joggers.
i thought he exhibited abit of nervous behaviour repeating the same line over and over at the start but I don't see why he'd be nervous of munroe
He does look in great condition. sculpted like kell brook.whats ingle giving them I wonder. Hmmm......
Anyway I think billy joes speed separates him from Munroe. After his last fight I need some convincing because he was very poor but munroe has half the kos saunders does. Willie isn't knocking out the champ and won't get a decision in the uk

Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Agreed Saunders was an utter disgrace there.
(I laughed ;D especially when he said to the geezer "hold up, who are you, what you standing there for")
When "play" fights go wrong. Remember them when you was a kid? Trying to keep smiling and pretending it's all fun whilst really going full throttle :D
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
I'll be going to this. Never been to the copper box. I'm actually rooting for Billy.
Think I'll sit with the dudes with bad 80s hair and white vests.
-
Re: Saunders v Monroe 16/9/17 London
Bjs has done nothing wrong.
He "could" be one of he greats.
Let's see how ingle and billy will mould in this fight and what happens down the line.
