Who wins?!
I was surprised by this I had originally heard it was Whyte v Ortiz which would of also surprised me.
I like this fight, with all the uncertainty with Wilder/AJ/Braezeale/Povetkin these two have just said 'lets do this' respect to both fighters
and i have not answered your question :p
Parker on points
Whyte has been named to challenge Povetkin, Pulev, Ortiz and now Parker?
If this is official then Whyte is excluding himself from the main alphabet bodies which is a strange move.
This is an excellent fight and no idea who will win this.
Still do not beleive it.
states is on sky box office which is pathetic, WTF us boxing fans getting screwed over again

DILLIAN WHYTE vs Joseph Parker announced. Whyte will meet Joseph Parker in a crunch heavyweight clash at The O2 in London on July 28, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Whyte is on the cusp of world title action destroyed Lucas Browne with a devastating sixth round KO of the Australian in London in March to defend the WBC Silver title and number one ranking he’d landed by beating Robert Helenius in Cardiff in October.
Parker is back in the UK after fighting in the Welsh capital in an historic unification battle with Anthony Joshua in March, with Whyte’s old foe handing a first career defeat for the New Zealand star on points. Parker is in Britain for the third fight in a row having made his second defence of his WBO crown against Hughie Fury in Manchester in September 2017.
“There’s going to be blood, pain and a knockout,” said Whyte. “I’m bang up for this.
“He’s a good fighter but he didn’t show much courage against Joshua. I want him to be more adventurous and not go on the run, but he knows that if he has a fight against me, he’s getting knocked out clean and in a brutal way.
“I like challenges and I rise to them, this is a big fight. There’s a massive incentive for me to wipe him out and show the world that I am ready to be the top man in the division – I want a world title and I know I can beat Deontay Wilder and Joshua.
“We’re back at The O2, it’s always a great atmosphere inside the arena and I’ll be looking to get a similar result to my last fight there.
“Beating Parker should almost guarantee me a world title shot but let’s see. He’s going to be very desperate, I’m expecting the best Joseph Parker because he can’t afford to have back to back defeats, but that’s exactly what he’s going to get, and it’s going to be another massive KO win for me at The O2.”
“We’ve both been in with AJ. One of us ended the fight on our feet, the other didn’t. That pretty much speaks for itself,” said Parker – the only fighter to so far take Joshua the full distance.
“I’m really looking forward to fighting Dillian. He’s got a big mouth and says some funny things – and he’s also highly entertaining in the ring. It’ll be an incredible fight. There’s no doubt about that.
“I’m really happy with how things have things have worked out. I know it took a lot of hard work from my team to get this over the line.”
“This fight came out of nowhere and I can’t quite believe it’s happening,” said Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn. “Two guys that will fight anyone agreed a fight within hours and now we have the prospect of a brilliant Heavyweight match up that will play a major part in shaping the division.
“Dillian has become a major force and Joseph is putting it all on the line after taking AJ the distance for the first time. Both want a return shot at the title and a win in such a high profile match up will be more effective than any eliminator-this could be a classic.
“We are planning a big night and a huge card at The O2 on July 28 and I really do take my hat off to Dillian and Joseph for taking on this challenge.”
“This a proper 50-50 fight,” said Parker’s promoter David Higgins. “It could go either way. That makes it the most interesting heavyweight fight this year.
“It’s the people’s eliminator. Whyte shook up Joshua and Parker is the first man to take him the distance. There’s no doubt the winner should move into a mandatory challenger spot.
“Dillian’s a good fighter who takes chances. He’s incredibly dangerous. We saw that with the way he KO’d Lucas Browne. Joseph will have to deal with a physical and verbal onslaught – but he’s well and truly up for the challenge.
“He’s coming off what is probably the second biggest pay per view event in European history and has already earned respect with the British public. His goal is to shut Whyte up by knocking him out and then get a rematch with Joshua – with a different referee.
“Boxing is the riskiest business in the world. A promoter’s job is to find the best opportunity for their boxer. That means keeping all options on the table.
“I make no apologies for making the best possible deal for Joseph Parker. The reality is no deal was ever going to happen without the Parkers being fully satisfied with what was on the table.
“This fight is a great opportunity for Joseph and for Dillian. It’s a fight the world wants to see.

“Yes, we were negotiating with [Bryant] Jennings but we were also negotiating with other parties. In the end, Eddie and I managed to make a deal that has led to what will be one of the most compelling heavyweight fights of the year.
“It’s a real credit to Eddie and Dillian that we’ve been able to make this fight happen. They’ve been confident and decisive from the outset – and that was a huge factor in getting us to where we are today.”
An announcement on ticket details will be made tomorrow.
wow! bit out of the blue! fair play to both of them taking the fight. not sure about Sky Box Office, but if people want to pay for Haye/Bellew, well...........
Don't particularly rate Whyte that highly, but I like his attitude and self confidence.
Sign of the times that these days it sadly does qualify for a PPV event, Bullshit i know but get used to it because it ain't gonna change ;)
Or use your fucking Brains for once and look into IPTV where you pay about £25 for 6 months and get all PPV for free in HD.
Hearn says he's putting on a Massive undercard so hopefully he's dipping into some of his $1 Billion and will deliver.
This is a great matchup and a real 50 - 50.
Let's just hope we get a proper fight and a decent ref
Decent fight, 50/50. Not sure what Whyte gets out of it other than a bumper pay day. If Whyte clatters the fucker, demand for an AJ rematch will increase, but then again beating Pulev puts him next in line anyway. Beating Ortiz puts him next in line for the Wilder Breazeale winner.
Great fight but no way is it PPV. Eddie needs to stick an amazing undercard on this to make it worthy of PPV.
Whyte by UD, think he will be too active for Parker.
Whyte and Parker can both be on PPV depending on the opposition, if expect Whyte v Wilder to be PPV, AJ v Parker PPV, no problem.
Whyte v Parker PPV...no chance
Dave "Mines a Double" Higgins says it's PPV worthy because of 3 "Magic Ingredients" ;D
1 - Both are household names in the UK
2 - Parochialism (i had to google it) NZ v UK basically
3 - The fans see it as 50-50
Hearn says he's applying to the WBO for this to be a final eliminator which would make it even more interesting.
Also hearing that Kell Brook is in the undercard
Higgins is a proper prick and doesn't seem to give a fuck which I like.
If it is for the WBO and Whyte wins, he's not really any closer to a title fight is he? ;D
Great match up for both fighters, I really do enjoy contenders who are willing to risk title shots to take out other contenders. It feels like it's been so long where fighters were just taking the easy routes to get a title shot and then doing fuck all in the title shot and then going back to the easiest route to the title and rinse and repeat.
I really want Whyte to win, but I'm thinking Parker takes a decision, he's a pretty solid fighter. This COULD be a fight of the year darkhorse if they both throw caution to the wind and go for glory out there.
Great interview with both fighters, there's clearly respect between them both and it's great to see two young fighters who say 'fuck off' to all the Boxing politics and just wanna fight.
Proper throwback fighters the pair of them

Bit of a turn around, at least this is now official. A side with Parker slightly, but think it may be a very close fight.
Wow, so Whyte makes it clear he doesn’t want any part of Ortiz, he turns to Parker and people are not only okay with this but excited about it. Because Parker is so exciting. He looked so good in his last two fights.
I feel bad for Ortiz, dude is better than almost every heavyweight out there, they just won’t fight him.
I'm really not sure what your problem is here , Ron? Ortiz isn't totally avoided , after all , he's just fought (and lost) for a World Title in his last fight. And I believe the Whyte fight would've been a final eliminator for another shot. If Whyte doesn't fight him, it means he fights someone ranked lower in this eliminator therefore given him a much better chance of winning.
consequently that means he could go Title Shot , Eliminator with a lesser ranked fighter, Title Shot in 3 fights . Most guys would give their right arm to be avoided that much!!!!!
Furthermore, Ortiz has been his own worst enemy for not having the big fights sooner. Drug ban , changing promoters every 5 minutes, lack of dedication and application to mention just a few things . I'm really not sure he warrants too much of your pity .
As far as Whyte/Parker goes , people like it because Whyte is taking on a recent WORLD Champion, and Parker is taking on somebody very High up every governing Bodies rankings. what's not to like?
you might say "but, but, but Whyte has given up an eliminator." well to be honest , he's fought loads of eliminators and got overlooked by the governing bodies anyway, so it shows what meaning that has.
This has to be most bizarre ppv choice I've ever known in UK - Eddie must have serious plans for undercard as said as these two can't sell enough to make it worthwhile.
Should be entertaining though
Names i'm hearing for the undercard -
Kell Brook
Katie Taylor
Joshua Buatsi
Chisora
Connor Benn
Hearns promised a mega undercard and better deliver it
Great undercard shaping up here!!
Brook v Cook
Katie Taylor
And in what should be fight of the night the rematch between Connor Benn v Cedric Peynaud.
Joshua Buatsi v Ricky Summers is a decent step up for Buatsi in his first 10 rounder.
Cracking card so far 😎
http://britishboxingnews.co.uk/blogs...tle-eliminator
Good to see Brook out again. The key for him is keeping busy or he loses that sharpness. Not heard of Cook but he looks anything but a formality on current form and if it is an eliminator and gets Kell a pop at another belt, then it makes sense. He can't hang about now, for such a talented fighter a lot of his prime years were a bit wasted.
Wow, Kell Brook is still at it, crazy. He's a tough fighter, been through a lot, I hope he does well.
Anyone who missed it get on YouTube and watch the first Connor Benn v Cedric Peynaud fight - Absolute war 😎
Hearn is seriously flexing his muscles with this undercard so far and it'll only get better.
Best card he's put on all year.
He also fought with his heart and not his brain which is why he looked like this the following day
https://cf-images.eu-west-1.prod.bol...atch/image.jpg
For those that missed the first fight...... WAR

Takam v Chisora has just been added.
This night is stacked 😎
Wait, I mention fighters not wanting to fight Ortiz and your argument that fighters will fight him is that it's okay Whyte won't fight him because the sanctioning bodies recognize he's good? That makes no sense, Apple's to oranges.
Perhaps you missed the sarcasm. I don't actually give two squirts about Ortiz. What I care about is the Ortiz fight has been there for Whyte and he talked about Pulev and people we're okay with that direction because "it's an easier path". We aren't supposed to root for fighters to take an easier path. Not Pulev, then Parker, again a lesser fighter. I mean Parker owes Hughie Fury a rematch because of that weak performance.
Ortiz actually fought to win in his last outing unlike Parker. Perhaps that was his mistake.
Now now Ron, let’s not twist shit to make it suit your thoughts. I actually said Whyte didn’t fight Ortiz because he’s fought eliminator after eliminator to get in line the right way, only to be fucked up the ass by the governing bodies.
So now he’s decided to make himself more money and line himself up for a shot the bullshit way just like everyone else.
So, you’re Whyte, you have loads of eliminators already, do you fight :
A. Pulev away from home for 20% of the purse
B. Ortiz in America for peanuts or
C. Parker on a headlining ppv?
Yep, reality check in the post for you. Don’t mention it.
You never answered my bit about Ortiz being avoided , yet fighting title shot/eliminator/title shot?? Funny that.
I don’t care what you think of Ortiz, because to be honest I don’t rate Whyte too highly either. But it’s not like he’s taking an easy fight.
Finallly, I’m not certain Ortiz and Pulev beat Parker. There’s not a lot between any of them imo.
Dereck Chisora v Carlos Takam: Bout set for Parker-Whyte undercard
https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cp...84_chisora.jpg
Dereck Chisora will take on Carlos Takam in a bout promoter Eddie Hearn says represents the "last chance saloon" for the British heavyweight.
Chisora, 34, has lost three of his last six bouts going into the 28 July contest at London's O2 Arena.
Takam, 37, took IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua 10 rounds in defeat in October.
The pair will meet on the undercard of Dillian Whyte's heavyweight bout with Joseph Parker.
Katie Taylor and Kell Brook are also in action on the night, but the Whyte-Parker and Chisora-Takam fights will have an impact near the top of the heavyweight rankings.
Chisora - nicknamed 'Del Boy' - has challenged for a world title once before, losing to Vitali Klitschko in 2012.
He impressively stopped Frenchman Zakaria Azzouzi in March but has lost to Whyte, Kubrat Pulev and Agit Kabayel since 2016.
"This is a great fight," said promoter Hearn. "For Del Boy, it's a real last chance saloon at world level and for Takam it's a chance to push for another world title shot after a strong showing against AJ."
Chisora holds a record of 28 wins and eight defeats, while Takam has 35 wins and a draw from 40 contests.
The French fighter was the first man to take Joshua into the last three rounds of a bout despite taking the fight at two weeks' notice.

Chisora will not win a world title.
He is suffering serious damage getting beaten up all the time.
Funny how he was the cheerleader for Bellew but small crusier Haye knocked him spark out.
Chisora/ Takam is a decent heavyweight bout.
Pulev was pissed at Whyte for signing to fight Parker instead.
Maybe Pulev and Ortiz can fight, maybe Ortiz/ Povetkin. Hopefully some of these guys start to fight each other.
Disappointed with Brooks opponent. There's no easy road to a title for him now. He's going to wait on Khan.
