Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Why all of a sudden talks of banning Jarell Miller for life for testing positive for PEDs before his fight with Anthony Joshua on June 1? Miller's fight with the Champ Joshua has been cancelled due to him testing positive.
But why has talks of banning him for life started to pop up? Never happened when Pulev and Povetkin turned up to be doping?
I assume EVERYONE- except for Andy Ruiz and Adam Kownacki- are on "stuff".

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
It's the size of the fight and the publicity that it brings with it, it you remember there was an outcry when Canelo had his ban backdated and there were a lot of people calling for him to be banned for life.

Yea... the tainted meat.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
5 of the current top 10 Heavyweights are drug cheats.
Miller had 3 hard-core substances in his system one of which can only be injected.
I think we're only starting to scratch the surface of how big this problem is.
The whole of bocing needs a massive shake up.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Miller failed three tests stemming from March for HGH, GH1516 and EPO, the final one being the most worrying given the application needed to consume the substance.
EPO can only be injected, meaning that Miller’s original statement denying any knowledge of his usage had to be redacted by the fighter.

Yea. I feel you. But you have to inject EPO into the butt, right? Strange things happen when a man wants to kill another man!

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
I don't know how I feel about life bans. It seems harsh, especially if it's your first time. On the other hand, the six-month, backdated vacation suspension handed out to Ginger was an insult to boxing and its fans.
Surely some logical middle ground can be found.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
There's only one way to move forward with this. Miller V Teper for the undisputed scumbag drug cheat championship of the World. Jack them up and turn them lose. When the fight is over shoot them both.

This idea that if someone looks like a sack of shit they're clean needs to be dropped. Miller, Ortiz, Fury, none of them are the body beautiful types, Teper, Thompson, the list goes on. It's so basic and so off the mark.
I dont care if a dirty fighter gets banned for life. I do care if they get a 6 month ban that more often than not makes no difference whatsoever to their career path. 2 years minimum. Zero exceptions.
-
Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Fighters should have at least a year and a half ban for cheating. Six months is nothing because tons of fighters only fight twice a year anyways so a six month ban wouldn’t even effect them.
In Miller’s case, he should be banned for at minimum three years. He admitted to cheating and took multiple substances. It’s all ridiculous

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
I would put money on Aj also taking shit, though.Probably better gear, or different testing.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Ban the fat cunt for life.

AJ in his debut fight, to now in his last appearance, are two totally separate men- physique wise!

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
He should be banned, not for life though. It's extremely disappointing and throws his entire career into question. I like him as a fighter and personality, I'm very disappointed in his actions.
How many of you guys would be alright with a boxing/MMA league that just allowed any and all PEDs? I mean that kinda used to be what pro wrestling was for the longest time and I can't believe those guys hardly use steroids anymore at least not like they used to. But would you be for or against allowing folks to fight like that AND given the opportunity would you rather watch that or clean fighting?

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Id way rather that all PEDs were allowed in every sport. Paying customers deserve to see the best athletes that science can produce. Since it is banned, doping is obviously unfair, but at the same time there is perfectly legal stuff that noone was privy to years back, whats the big difference?
-
Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
I wouldn't worry about it, apparently Big Baby won't be getting banned at all

I'd at least like the option....Bodybuilding has started that there's the freakshow roided to the gills HGH crowd and then there's the more lean and natural clean crowd....other sports should follow suit.

You couldn't make this bullshit up!!!!
SHAMBLES Jarrell Miller looks set to avoid ban for three failed Anthony Joshua drugs tests due to bizarre loophole

Bodybuilders are models, not athletes. They arent good at anything, its almost as far from athletic as it gets, so Id say thats a poor example and there is no need to distinguish there.

Thing is it's not only multiple substances, it's his second time caught for doping and even when he was kickboxing with 'Glory' they banned him for 9 months right off the bat. It should have been a universal ban that covered boxing too.

I would go with 3 years. Fighters have to understand. It is disgusting when Canelo gets to ride high while GGG seems to pay a price. There would be no Canelo obsession if he is gone for 3 years. Boxing is pathetic and run by crooks.

I used it as an example to provide a path of what I'd like to see happen in professional sports. That way if someone tests positive AT ALL then instead of banning them from the entire sport just ship them off to the juiced league and ban him from the clean league for life.
People would still pay to watch both I'm certain there's a market for it AND you'd finally be able to see a level playing field in both. Not only that you could study what PEDs actually do for athletes.
But hey, just my take and you're certainly free to disagree with it.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
So Big Baby got suspended for 6 months. Also, he can fight... he's just being removed from the WBA rankings for 6 months.
On related news, HGH and EPO stock skyrocketed after demand suddenly increased by 1,000 percent. Boxers are now on waiting lists for the stuff.

The problem will never be fixed if they don’t give harsher punishments

Ergo 2 separate leagues....let the fans talk with their money. If they want to see REAL HONEST Athletes or JUICED athletes or maybe the public wants both, but that is the only way to ensure a level playing field.
In boxing and other martial arts people can get killed even when it's done properly so the rules have to be set in stone and followed and when they aren't penalties have to come down hard. I think just shipping a guy off to another league where they are allowed to juice up would be punishment enough and would weed out a lot of cheats because if you get popped 1 single solitary time you're in the juicing league for life because you can't be trusted having failed once before. If you get sent off to the juicing league then perhaps there are folks ready willing and able to do MORE roids MORE HGH and MORE EPO or whatever than other athletes and those freaks of SCIENCE (rather than freaks of nature) will be at the top level I guess.
I just like the idea of in for a penny in for a pound it would keep a lot of fighters honest as nobody would want to fight let's say an Anthony Joshua on steroids and HGH or Wilder on roids and HGH or maybe even Miller on those things.
-
Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
So they're using the Canelo measuring stick to say more than 6 months would be "unfair"? That's pretty pathetic and why is a sanctioning body a factor in this at all. So Miller has literally been banned from rings coast to coast now at different times in his career for multiple substances but basically will basically be put in time out. There needs to be some idea of a unified commission not this State to State grab bag. I honestly have no interest in seeing Miller do anything in a ring and if Hearn tries to salvage him for AJ and feed it to fans he needs to be laughed outta the sport along with him.
-
Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
If Canelo was in a PEDs boxing league he'd get his ass kicked....what would GGG on roids and HGH look like?
-
Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
It seems as if there are those who will start singing/dropping dime- if they actually get the penalty deserved. That would lead to a domino effect of outing others by name.
So a slap on the wrist is all that occurs.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
Whenever his next fight is.... probably six months from now.... I'll be rooting for whoever he fights to beat the blubber out of him.

Because he's a blatant cheater who got away with just a tap on the wrist. Never liked the guy anyway.

I get like that with some guys for no reason at times. For some reason I do not like Tony Yoka at all and wishes he gets smashed and embarrassed!

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
I'd have to say the 2nd 3rd time is the charm. Apparently Big Baby cannot stop sticking stuff in his cheeks and his fight is off. Ban em

Not defending Povetkin, if he got a life ban , whatever. But This is the THIRD time for Miller.

Are you suggesting a bit of racism? lol...
But just now saw the news on Miller. I was wondering why this thread was kicked back up to the top? Usually when it's like that it means some of you dudes are flame warring. lolol...
But, yeah, Miller is a waste of time. He was fighting a regular dude, not a real threat. He didn't have to use PED's for him.
This signifies to me that Miller is not a physical specimen. He is not an athlete.

Re: Ban Jarrell Miller for testing positive for PEDs?
I think Miller deserves a title shot and our utmost admiration. To still be doping after all his failed tests and in the midst of pandemic tells me he is really serious about being the best fighter he can be.
