The world's richest man Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44bn (£36.3bn) last month. He has sacked 80% of his staff and vastly overpaid for the company.
How will he not become bankrupt?
Liverpool FC and Manchester United would have been better deals.

He's bungled that one, he's getting pretty weird too, possibly he's trying to sink it right now so he can buy the debt back from the Banks on the cheap and relocate and remake it with way less running costs?
LOL you guys are living in a delusional world
Why? Twitter is losing a lot of money and many advertiser have pulled out, something odd is going on, the Tesla stock has taken a whack from all this too, he's lost a lot of value.
Could be his own little version of the Capital. He's fine with burning it down if he gets to be seen laughing loudest from the ashes. Elon paid into his new toy and it really is all about being the "the" for him. Twatter can be a shitshow on its best day and ol Elon is fine with stuffing paper towels down the bowl :-X. He should be more concerned with his side gig in giant size RC Car production.
This is absolutely mad. He's borrowed a chunk of money to fund the company buyout and has a billion dollars a year vig. Half of the top hundred advertisers have stopped advertising and that's over a billion a year and likely to increase. So he's two billion a year down and twitter make ninety percent of their revenue from advertising and advertisers are fleeing and what does he do? Starts conversing with various Nazis on the board who hadn't been banned:

You can just scroll for the screenshots.
And this article misses out one guy who had been ranting that the people in the gay club that got shot recently had it coming and gay people could only expect this kind of violence to continue because they're a bunch of groomers. The next day Musk is exchanging twitter messages with him. And now apparently next week he's going to let all the people Twitter had previously banned back. So racists, Nazis, online stalkers and various other scumbags. Advertisers must be all heading for the exits soon. Maybe he's having some kind of mental event. He's personally on the hook for tens of billions here and he's pulling this shit.
I should point out that Twitter don't make money. They're not some massively profitable outfit like Facebook. They were just about breaking even when Musk took over and now they're two billion a year down. He's sacked a bunch of staff but it remains to be seen if the thing keeps running he's sacked so many.
good advertising for a new tesla phone
at least the guy got some decent hair plugs. i doubt very much about him is true. his responses seem very slow at processing information for someone with an alleged high iq. elon is just playing his role in this theatre
"Performative tool" that seems to pretty much sum Musk up. For all his endless money he's just a very needy fella in so many other ways.
Apple is apparently destroying free speech because they're charging Elon two dollars per subscription for him to use their platform to take subscriptions but Elon charging people eight dollars to use his platform is free speech. He's definitely having some kind of mental event here.
Also, too, the people having their free speech infringed upon here are Apple. They're a private corporation and can place their advertising dollars anywhere they want and that's backed by over a century of First Amendment jurisprudence. If they decide they don't want to be associated with a social media network whose owner has started posting Pepe the frog memes then that's their right. The Republican party used to be quite adamant about the right of corporations to do whatever they wanted no matter what the law said but on this particular issue, where the law is unambiguously on the side of Apple, of course they've taken Elon's side.
Multiple top advertising agencies and media buyers told the Financial Times that nearly all of the big brands they represent have paused spending on the social media platform, citing alarm at Musk’s ad hoc approach to policing content and decision to axe many of its ad sales team.
Musk, meanwhile, has sought to personally call chief executives of some brands that have curbed advertising in order to berate them, according to one senior industry figure, leading others to instead reduce their spend to the bare minimum required so as to avoid further confrontation with the billionaire entrepreneur.
After several waves of job cuts and departures, Twitter’s ads business team has shrunk so much that many agencies no longer have any point of contact at the company and have received little to no communication in recent weeks, according to four industry insiders.
Some brands have been unable to get feedback on how previous campaigns have performed because of the staffing shortages, one media buyer said. Others are complaining Twitter’s ads systems have also become buggy, making it difficult or even impossible to run campaigns.
“It is quite unique. The turmoil, the damage, nothing of this magnitude has happened before. Never,” said a senior executive at a big four advertising agency.
“He seems to put off even those advertisers who wanted him to succeed,” another top advertising agency executive said.
Musk is under pressure to draw revenues from Twitter, as he faces $1bn in annual interest payments after loading the company with $13bn of debt to help fund his acquisition of the business.

Yelling at CEOs is just guaranteed to work though.
Elon has lost the plot and this is not an Ingenius way of making even more money.
EU Threatens to Ban Twitter in Europe Unless It Ramps Up Censorship
Infowars.com
November 30th 2022, 2:35 pm
EU industry chief Thierry Breton told Musk via video call Wednesday Twitter may face a Europe-wide ban because 'arbitrary' reinstatement of accounts could violate EU's Digital Services Act (DSA).
Musk reportedly told Breton he thought the DSA was 'very sensible.'

Elon now banning pro democracy/protest Chinese accounts. Mr. Free Speech doesn't have anything to say about the current protests in China although he did say recently that he thought it would be a good thing for China to take over Taiwan. And he did ask the Chinese regime to suppress Chinese social media criticism of Tesla cars and his giant Chinese regime-funded Tesla car factory in China. Pro free speech and pro the current Chinese regime looks like it'll be a difficult thing to pull off.
Who is "Jim Carrey"? :confused::confused::confused:
Corporate media outlets that brought us the Russia hoax, the Steele dossier, jussie Smollett, the Kavanaugh rape hearings, BLM Grif, FTX scam, Trump "nuclear docs" hoax and more fake news stories are VERY concerned free speech on Twitter might lead to misinformation..
Try not to laugh.
why were people freaking out about elon's replica guns? just shows the ignorance of some & their lack of knowledge about gun's that can actually fire
What are you even talking about? Musk has just banned Kanye for posting swastikas inside Jewish stars. That is a fact reported across All media.
This idea that all media that reports facts you wet the bed crying over can be dismissed, whilst the hyper corporate crap you have ALWAYS relied on, Fox, the Murdoch crap, facist rags like The Mail, or anything that helps you stoke up a shit storm here, is fine, is laughable.
Mr Free Speech is now blocking hundreds of anti government protest accounts in India, a country where he is trying to be allowed to build another giant Tesla factory.
I feel sure he would have thought through the ramifications of owning Twitter and also building cars/being allowed access to markets in authoritarian/nationalist countries.
Maybe he just thought that he could get away with being a tool for these kind of governments abroad and that at home he could bullshit and bluster about free speech while throwing out a load of culture war bullshit to mask the corrupt deals with foreign dictatorships. It works for the GOP and their upward redistribution after all.
Which leads me to the latest load of bullshit. According to Musk he was going to release evidence of massive collusion between pre-Musk twitter and the Democratic party to throw the 2020 election to the Democrats. It turns out the massive collusion was the Democrats asking twitter to take down five separate posts of pictures of Hunter Biden's genitals. The DNC were given a contact at twitter to allow them to quickly have stuff they wanted taken down reviewed by the twitter moderation team. But so were the GOP:
Attachment 6059
We don't know what the GOP asked to have taken down but I'm sure we'll find out, they're surely not going to be so one sided about this, I have faith in Elon. Although he does seem a little bit confused about the First Amendment:
Attachment 6061
The First Amendment protects your speech being infringed by the government, not a political party campaign. Maybe he means that the Trump campaign were an extension of the then government and them asking to take down whatever it is twitter took down for them is a violation of the 1st A. But the headline here was Hunter Biden and how this was some kind of huge scandal. And there's also this from the guy charged with publishing this huge bombshell on twitter:
Attachment 6062
So it does look like Elon is bullshitting away here. It'll be interesting to see what else come out.
In other twitter news:

Attachment 6065
Attachment 6066
I'm sure the advertisers will be flooding back right now.
Yeah ok kirk
I'm sure you'll be able to explain where I've gone wrong. You won't just run away or post another video I won't watch. You'll be able to explain in your own words using facts and evidence. Because it's not that you got it wrong and fall for every single bit of right wing bullshit because you've got the critical thought capability of an apricot, is it.
He's not really wrong though is he?...(he as in Sadam Hussein Avatar)
Musk is starting to look pretty suspicious, he's firing up a load of chaff and smoke even though his bombshell contradicts what he's posting:S... I guess he hopes no one actually reads it or something???
It'd make more sense if he's wanting to influence other countries so he can get good deals for his factories otherwise he's pulled a massive boner(teeheehee) with not only buying twitter but the also the way he has run it....bizarre stuff, Kanye has been banned too!
For the incredibly cheap price of a $1 billion "investment" into Hunter biden's fund, China was able to buy the silence of the United States on the oppression of its citizens who are simply seeking basic freedoms and liberties. Pretty incredible return on investment for the CCP.
The World Cup has historically been a boon for Twitter, bringing in record traffic and an influx of advertising dollars. But this time, when the global soccer tournament started on Nov. 20, Twitter’s U.S. ad revenue was running at 80 percent below internal expectations for that week, three people with knowledge of the figures said.
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/02/t...e=articleShare
Ninety percent of their revenue comes from advertising and they're eighty percent down.
Elon is committed to free speech so so they've got that going for them:
I asked Elon if his commitment to free speech, which he says is crucial to the future of humanity, extends to Chinese & Iranian protestors (earlier he ducked a question about Twitter supporting them). Elon scolded me & the right-wing hosts jumped in & kicked me out. Free speech!

I'm becoming convinced that top boxing stars always chirping and fighting on Twatter is the reason they're not fighting in the ring. Constant 24/7 exposure to anything is bad, it's like a substandard-satisfaction and substitution for fans who feel some odd connection. Notice how much less often fans debate/ argue who will win, how top styles collide, what top fighters game plan will give the upper hand...now, it's just followers beefing over why fighter A and fighter B are not fighting in the first place. Can you imagine Hearns and Hagler midnight tweeting about each other's family members :gossip:. Running random on this ;D it's been a day.
