I was nervous throughout, been supporting Joe for too long to see it unravel now. Thought he showed his age a little, but it was a very tough fight with an excellent oppnent who has one hell of a future. I was wrong about how it would go, I thought JC would go all out on the inside, but Kessler was a match for him there. He showed how much of a champ he is to adjust and box though and a deserved win.
I don't know how much he has left, he seems to have lost that sparkle that makes him want to trade. Anyway, I'm drunk, emotional, and rambling on.

No argument from here. A great fight from both. The workrate killed Kessler. And tonight joe did not slap that much. I was surprised how much power punched he threw at Kessler.
I acknowledge that Joe is the king of SMW.
Where Kessler should go from here I don't know, maybe a break and back on the saddle. I don't think a rematch with Calzaghe would help Kessler either.

Honestly...I don't think that Kessler needs to take a break at all. Joe will vacate the belts & Kessler can pick them right back up. Rematch Mundine & then start running shit at 168 again. Take on Bute or Froch or some of the other fellars.
Kessler fought a fantastic fight...but Joe is just a different animal inside the ropes. While Joe battered Kess...he didn't destroy him the way that he did Lacy.
Kessler can & will recover.
