Re: Pac vd DLH will be another Changing of the Guard!!
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, my biggest beef with this fight is that it's only purpose is to give DLH another notch in his belt against a big-name fighter. It's not a competitive matchup... the difference in size is too great. Pac fans are fooling themselves if they see it differently. Hell... Pac would probably box circles around Wladimir Klitschko, too. But one swat from Wlad would send Pac flying over the ropes.
I'm more a Pac fan than a De La Hoya fan, as many around here know. But I am totally against this farce. This just goes to show that you can hype up just about anything in boxing.

Oscar is just out for money right now when he could really go down (as he should) as a GREAT fighter by even fighting Antonio Margarito much less beating him which Oscar COULD do as he does have the wheels to box for 12 rounds AND seeing how Oscar brings so much bank he could have the fight at 154 or a 150 catch weight where he's more comfortable.
There is really no reason for a De la Hoya-Margarito fight not to happen it adds more to his legacy!!!
Pacquiao should fight Casamayor or Valero or Hatton he COULD win all those fights but they aren't going to be easy for him. He's a beast but he's not superhuman
David Diaz is a very nice person too & I met him in Berkeley. And yet pac Destroys him.
This fight needs to happen coz Boxing needs it. If DLH retires without fighting Pac, the PPV King torch will not be passed. We thought PBF will carry it but he stinks the joint & run away with our money & refused to fight the toughest test.
If DLH retires without fighting Pac, The mainstream Audience will still have no interest in watching all these Great Matchup waiting for Pac. Pac vs JMM, J Diaz, Casa & Campbell will be stuck with just for the Diehard Boxing fans only. The Mainsteam Audience will surely gravitate more to MMA instead after DLH.
If they do the DLH- Margarito, Do you think Margarito can carry the PPV & Boxing's torch after DLH??? Margo surely will beat DLH but he is not that exciting or Charismatic. It will not help boxing whatsoever. I don't think Margo can even be bigger than MAB & EM even if he beat DLH. Critic will say the DLH's shot & Old. He will still be avoided.
Now imagine Pac winning against DLH??? HIs excitement will be multiplied more than doubled. More people will be hyped for this Little & exciting guy. IT will help boxing in a Big way.
Look at the guys who carry boxing from Ali, SRL, TYson, & DLH??? They all have something in common. They have speed, Power, Charisma, they are all likeable & has Big Cajones. Cotto & Margarito got no speed & Charisma. PBF in not a Likable & has a small Cajones. There's no other Choice but Pac. Don't look anywhere else.
Pre, the American public could care less if our Hero fought Oscar. It will definitely generate gazillions in PPV etc...
This crazy fight will not make PAC more likeable to them. Do you want the whole world to witness a Filipino Legend get battered from ringpost to ringpost?
When Duran beat SRL he becomes a household name in the US. All Pac has to do is beat the Golden goose.

What about Pac's Purpose?? He wants to beat the Legends. He wnats to prove his Greatness. Pac could become one of the top Atg BY BEATING DLH. Hatton & PBF. Pac's want to prove something here. To Prove that you & a lot of people against this fight were all WRONG!!!

Well PAC could start off with something realistic like cleaning out the 135 lb division or for immortality beat Hatton for his 5th title. If this fight with Oscar happens we will regret this for the rest of our PAC cheering life.

The fight is a more than reality now. Put your shoes in Pac's shoes, Who will you fight???

I think it's time for all the Pac fans to Boycott ESB the way they treat most of us. It's becoming boring now there without us there. They can Keep Cj & theunderdog(the Makapili).
If you can keep in touch with them, tell them to move every Pac fans here. Just leave that 2 over there.
What a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead of one poster like you we can have gajillions of them. How splendid, I can't wait:p

Sounds like your elevator may not go all way to the top, so I'll try to write slowly.
Pac may already be an alltime great, and even if he isn't, he can achieve that goal within striking distance of his own weight division. Boxers have moved up one or more weight classes before, but usually these are fighters that are killing themselves making weight at the lower classes, and allow themselves to fill out to move up. This is not Pacquiao's case, as his physique is made for the division he currently inhabits.
Bottom line is, Pac doesn't need to fight Oscar or anybody else of Oscar's size. He needs to continue to clean up in the immediate neighborhood of his weight division, and his place as an ATG will be secured.

I appreciate you patience, but it's futile to convince some of us fans;D

So you don't care about the money, The fame & the Glory of beating an legend like DLH ??? So you will just settle beating guys you think you can easily beat?? Where's the Challenge there???
Re: Pac vd DLH will be another Changing of the Guard!!
It's not like Pac is hurting for big fights in his division...Casamayor, Campbell, Anthony Peterson, Joan Guzman, Amir Kahn, Edwin Valero, Humberto Soto, Hatton, Holt, Malinaggi, Witter, and so on. There is no reason for Pacquiao to jump to 147.

Easily beat:confused: Do you remember the left right combo JMM gave PAC in the 2nd round in their rematch, imagine if that was ODLH landing his shots on PAC.
Joan Guzman, has ring generalship/defense that could baffle PAC, easily beat:confused:

Combine all 5 fight there and that is only an equivalent of one Pac fight with DLH in Money & in Glory.
