Wow, there really are no fighters in history quite like Paul, who the hell is gonna want to fight this guy? Very impressive tonight.

Easy nights work for Williams, gave Winky a couple of rounds early, but mainly Williams in control and coming on stronger and stronger down the stretch.
Winky is old, but Williams style would always give him fits. He's taller, longer, takes a punch, has mammoth output and punches from all over the place. He really is a freak of nature and I think he is brilliant for boxing.
He should clean up at 154 IMO, middleweight can wait until a little later. I think he would be more than a match for guys like Abraham and Pavlik, but there is no urgency. Depends on what money he can get offered, I guess.
Thoughts on Williams:
1. He pitched a shutout on Winky tonight. To Winky's credit, there's nothing he could've done to avoid the loss. He went all out.
2. I hope he never goes back to 147. He doesn't belong there.
Stay at 160. This is such a boring division though. If only he's not too big at 147.! a fight either with Dawson or Hopkins seems possible in the future. Hey Bhop ain't retiring any time soon.
I wanna see him fight Sergio Martinez next.
And you came to that conclusion watching him against a defensive southpaw? I don't think Kirkland is as skilled as Winky but he is more of an offensive and aggressive beast then him and it wouldn't be that easy for Williams. But I think Williams can clear out 154 too I would like to see him and Mosley at 147 or a catchweight though, or better yet him and Cotto at a catchweight.
On some other thread I predicted a Williams win, thought he might stop Wright. At least I got the winner right.
Paul Williams is a machine. When he came out in the 10th round and just threw a 15 punch combination I thought :o:o:o....
Paul also seems to take punches very well.....No one beats Paul at 147 or 154. Up at 160, I start to question how he would take a punch from Pavlik or Abraham.....
Winky has not been beat up like that in a LONG LONG time and he is old but he is still Winky.....
Funny how Merchant basically said that both Paul and Winky's assertion that no one wants to fight them is BS.....Winky turned down a second fight with Taylor and Paul turned down a fight with Pavlik.....
I cannot see where all this Williams is unbeatable talk is coming from, first of all he has been beaten before and he just got through on a close one with Margarito. He beats up on an inactive and old Winky Wright and all of a sudden every one is prematurely blowing their loads! Williams V Cotto or Mosely is a must if he goes back to 147lb, PBF will stay retired upon seeing this result. I agree that no one currently beats him at 154lb but hold your horses with Williams taking out Pavlik or Abraham. I would like to see Williams go back to the strong 147lb division and give us some great fights before tackling the likes of the Pav and King Arthur! Is Forrest on the cards?
I'm not sure how healthy it would be for Williams to drop back down two weight divisions again now historically that has never worked out very well for anybody. He still looks super skinny at 160 at 147 now he'd look emaciated.
I'd love to see him fight Sugar Shane, maybe they could fight at 154 for Williams world title if he wasn't forced to vacate in order to fight Winky.
I don't think there is any chance Floyd will ever face him a stylistic and size nightmare for him but I also don't blame Floyd that much, Williams is in no way a natural welterweight, he could be fighting at cruiserweight even he's massive, dwarfing Winky last night.
I'd like to see him fight people his own size and see how good he really is.
Normally, I would agree about trying to move back down, but I think Williams is one of those rare guys with insane metabolism who could do it. I don't know if you caught the HBO telecast, but in a segment before the fight they were saying he has little trouble making 147 and that since he was fighting at 160 he could eat whether he wanted, they showed him eating a bunch of wings in a restaurant. And he only weighed 157 at the weigh. I think he can still hit the weight, but I doubt any big name there will fight him. Would love to see him against Mosley, though.
