Re: American confederate flag
On the railroad(s):
I only speculate that they began in the north because of where government was- it was a starting place. Not to exclude the south- and that the first major railroad wasn't completed until after slavery and Lincoln 1868. And if slavery was allowed without the invention of air conditioning, then industrialization just doesn't seem to be the missing link of factories to exist in the south. In 1992 I worked in a factory in Georgia- no air conditioning- 12 hour shifts.

if you look, you would see the population boom in the south took place with the advent of AC.

You have a population of poor people clamoring for jobs and it costs less to pay them nothing and shift for themselves than it does to maintain a slave. Simultaneously the lack of poor people demanding to work for free kept the south agrarian and slave based. Who cared about air conditioning? Poor folks are expendable if you have enough of them.
Id bet if you compared mortality rates among slave and free factory workers the slaves come out ahead. Because you bought slaves, paid cash money, and free poor folks are free.
Good points.

ok. . So, northerners went south after ac was invented causing a population boom, or southerners started making more babies because love making was better with air conditioning ;D

How air conditioning changed America | Old House Web
Air Conditioning allowed for a lot of changes...it's the only reason high rise buildings can happen in the south.

If you look at the population boom of southern states after the advent of AC it really is quite stunning.
