Good on Joshua. Not always biggest fan but he pressured down and was impressive. Lots of people with their feet in their mouths after this card today. Aj gets winner of Fury v Usyk no doubt.
All in all even missing it, as a fan what needed to happen in the division happened. Also thanks for the rbr info gents. Still prefer to get my update fill here ;D

Funny old game aint it. Like most I expected Parker to give Wilder some problems until the inevitable happened. It didn't. Parker fought brilliantly, Wilder fought terribly. Given his post fight interview, I'm not sure Wilder gave a fuck either way. Can you imagine Teddy Atlas in Wilders corner going into the last round? They would have needed an actual fireman because Teddy would have spontaneously combusted. Wilders mob seemed to give as many fucks as Wilder did. I think Wilder probably walks away now. If they could sell the Joshua fight they would. But who is Wilder going to beat to warrant it?
Joshua was about as good as he's ever been. Aggressive, sharp, powerful. People rattle on about the old Joshua, like he should roll over top ten guys at will the way he did Gary fucking Cornish. It ain't going to happen is it, because they're better. That said, tonight was something close to 'old' Joshua.
Something mentally needed to shift with him. Maybe it has. Maybe the Ben Davison link up was the missing piece of the puzzle. I think that should become a permanent fixture by the way. Whatever it was, it worked tonight. I've always said Joshua on song beats Fury. The past few years have been a bit iffy and that's been a difficult position to defend. Ironically, a difficult position to defend due to Tyson beating the shit out of the hardest puncher on this and any other planet since records began, who's just been humbled by Joshua's what fourth best win? Using the old adage you're only as good as your last performance, I still think Joshua beats Fury. Regardless of what happens in Feb.
Said the same - wilder didn't seem to give the slightest of fucks afterwards. I'm guessing he got a fair few million to fight last night. He suddenly got busy in the last round but way too late.
To take nothing away from Parker though he stuck to his game plan and did the job. Fair play and he can look forward to another big pay day.
I switched off straight after the fight but hear aj said something along the lines that he believed people still want to see him fight wilder? No I don't think so.
Attention now turns to February and how much fury still has in the tank. He's still the man for me IF he can get in top condition.
And yes joshua looked good, focused and clinical but wallin probably helped make him look that much better?
Didn't seem to fight gun shy but guess he didn't have so much to fear from wallin as he would against others. I'm probably being a little harsh on him but I always have been.
Just watched some post fight interviews. Hearn talks about Fury next or maybe Hrigovic (no idea on spelling) to become a three time champion. I suspect the latter route....
Never understood the hype of these second and three time champion tags. 99 percent of the time that means you lost it in the first place - Ali stripped,Fury went into depression etc type scenarios aside.
Yeah case in point for me Lennox Lewis. Great champion no doubting that, and fully deserving of a place in anyone's top ten heavyweights ever. But he's a three time champ because he suffered one punch knockout loses to average at best fighters in Rahman and McCall. The glossing over has been done with those and the tag line 'beat every man he's ever faced' has been applied. But the bottom line is, he's 1-1 with both of them and never established superiority over either. Massive question mark over the McCall 'win'.
Joshua will become a three time champ, no doubting that. But it'll be because he got spanked by a round guy, and a guy who a couple of fights previous went life and death with Derek Chisora.
i have noticed that joshua throws more jabs when rounds start but not as many jabs by the end of rounds. i can tell his arm gets tired. theres a way to fix that.
Yeah I was a huge Lewis fan and I have that same feeling about his rematch with Mccall. He got the win but it didn't feel like one the way it went down. But then again you have to ask what else he could have possibly done in that situation :-\

I suppose Wilder has lost the dog but has improved as a human. He has 1 game plan, he literally throws 90% of his punches from the other side of the ring with EVERYTHING he’s got and if you can avoid it, you will coast to victory as Parker done.
I still think if you give Wilder time and space and range......and let him sniper you from distance with his right hand he's still a big puncher. But he lacks elite level boxing skills and variety in his offence and can't fight on the backfoot against a capable Heavyweight. To me he's always been very protected. He’s basically a heavyweight Munguia.
I'm also sure Parker saw Aussie Jai Opetaia murdering men. Great time for Oceania. They're taking over!!

In the short-term the picture looks bleak.
Michael Hunter isn't elite. Jared Anderson ? I'm not that sold on him. He doesn't seem to want to stick around the sport long anyway, and will probably quit after his first loss but he will almost certainly will get a title shot at some point, and it might even happen next year given the chaos Fury v. Usyk will unleash in the IBF.
Richard Torrez Jr is going nowhere as a heavyweight. The first decent boxer-puncher he comes across will take his head clean off.

The only rays of hope right now are Lorenzo Medina (way to soon to say whether he's a bluechip prospect) and that the USA Boxing amateur program is in better shape than it's been in a long time.
Ali Feliz seems to be the top guy in the amateurs and if he goes to the Olympics next year as a super heavy they say he has gold medal chances. So I don't see any serious prospects for the USA for another couple years at the least.

I’m not a guy who get’s emotional when watching a fight but I've have not been so happy for a win like this one in a while.
So happy to see Triple "Knee" batter that sumo wrestler. No more magic pill to help him wear the opponent down. And people don't realize many heavyweights would have gassed out or mentally crumbled under the pressure Miller was putting on Dubois. But Dubois stamina was brilliant. Usyk can dance around the ring for 12 rounds, but he isn’t sitting down on his punches like Dubois was nor is he carrying his weight.
I challenge you guys to go and hit a heavy bad for just ONE minute, with all your power and watch how tired you will get. Dubois was doing that for ten rounds because I gotta give big baby some credit his chin was something else but in the end he gave the ref that, “You can step in anytime now” look at the end of the 10th.
AJ - Wallin
Impressive by AJ. Confident. This was the old AJ.
Does this mean Joshua beats Fury? Absolutely not. BUT, I have always said Joshua is undoubtedly the more proven commodity than either of his two biggest rivals at this point, and always warranted more credit than he is given
Looking at what AJ did to Wallin and the ease in the way Parker schooled Wilder then Fury's undefeated record has more question marks than the riddlers cat suit where as Saturday night fights have made Usyk look fantastic.
I would be even less surprised if Fury backed out now.
As to the rest of the card Sanchez and Hrgović look solid fighters and as for Bivol. I mean WTF with these commentators talking shit about Bivol and saying there has to be a KO? Is boxing now some Instagram Powerslap show or do we still appreciate a good clinic?
Finally that loss of audio for what, 3 rounds of the main event is inexcusable, DAZN.

The article is inaccurate it says Miller lost to Daniel Dubois by 12th-round TKO when it was 10th round. It may not be all true. :)Quote:
