I'm with you, use dirty tactics but please don't let somebody catch you... Look at how Margarito not caught using dirty tactics... Dirty tactics help wins fight... It's good for the boxer...

There is a massive difference between holding and a couple of low blows, and illegal hand wraps. Stupid comparison.
They're the same to me, dirty tactics...

You're embarassing yourself on this thread now. Ask the family of Billy Collins Jr if they're the same. A fighter is not in danger from permanent injury, paralysis or death from holding & the occasional low blow

I think boxing will be much better without these unnecessary dirty tactics to win fights... That's why referees prevented Hatton to continue using his dirty tactics, hugging, elbows, low blows, etc...

If the referee chooses to that then fine, but then maybe he should take a point every time Pacquiao hits a guy after he's already hit the canvas, which I've seen him do. The fact is that & all those other things are part of boxing. You can't pick & choose what's acceptable. Intentional low blows do get on my nerves but the fact is when you're in the ring you have to find tactics to win & sometimes that involves treading the line of what's legal & isn't

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Ricky Hatton Must Change Boxing Style to Beat Manny Pacquiao
Popular British boxer Ricky Hatton could win over equally popular Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao if he can change his predictable boxing style in their forthcoming fight on May 2, 2009 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada There is only one way for Ricky Hatton to win over Manny Pacquiao in their forthcoming ‘The East vs. The West’(EW) match on May 2, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The one and only way is for him to change his fighting style But the next difficult question to answer is: Can Ricky change his fighting style in just about two months before his date with Manny Pacquiao?
The answer to these nagging questions is negative. Manny Pacquiao himself when asked by reporters the same question said. ‘I don’t think Mayweather can change Hatton’s style. He may be able to make Hatton better conditioned, but he can’t change his style. The Hatton I will fight is the Hatton we all know’, he added.
Pacquiao's statement was in reference to the statement made by Floyd Mayweather, Sr, trainer of Hatton for the EW match that Pacquiao will be facing an opponent with a new fighting style.
Mayweather hinted in interviews that were posted in the internet that Hatton will be a different animal during the My 2 fight in Las Vegas. But Pacquiao, who used to be a pure brawler, knows that one training camp cannot reshape a boxer.
According to Mayweather, Sr., Hatton has started preparing for the fight right after the signing of the fight contract with Pacquiao. He said he will introduce new techniques to address Pacquiao’s fighting style. But the Pacquiao camp belittles Mayweather’s plan saying; ‘you cannot change Hatton’s style instantly, he will always revert to his original style where he is comfortable. Changes, they said cannot be done in two months, it takes years of constant and continous training and practice to develop and make it effective.
For his part, Freddie Roach said that Hatton is much more difficult to beat than Oscar de la Hoya. Hatton is a great body puncher, younger and best of all, he is a brawler. But he said that Manny will win over Hatton via a knock out and even predicted that it will happen on the ninth round or earlier.
Manny is a quick learner, Roach said. He noted that Manny did everything he asked him to do when he fought Oscar de la Hoya. When we return to Los Angeles on Tuesday, I will present the ‘how-to-beat Hatton’ game plan to him, Roach added.
Roach thinks that Hatton’s style as a brawler is predictable and Manny knows how to deal with him. He must have devised some strategies on the Hatton brand of boxing and they could be part of his ‘how to beat Hatton’ game plan.
In recent interviews with sportswriters, Mayweather had repeatedly said that boxing fans will see a new Hatton when he faces Pacquiao for the EW match. If indeed Hatton can make the necessary changes to address Pacquiao’s vaunted power and speed then he might just win the fight and may even win via knock out in the early rounds. But many boxing fans believe that changes cannot be made overnight and in this particular fight, time is not on Hatton’s side.

I don't care as long as PAC enjoys at least 3 inches of arm length advantage over Hatton... I won't mind a 5 inches advantage either...

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Personally i believe that Hatton will win this one. I wasnt that impressed by Pacmans stoppage of David Diaz who i feel is very limited. He looked awesome in stopping De Le Hoya but we just dont know what De Le Hoya had left. Now i believe that Pacman is a far better fighter than Hatton but i am a great believer in styles make fights.
I think Hatton will be bigger and stronger than Pacman and will be able to bully him somewhat. I wouldnt be shocked if Hatton won by stoppage around 9 rounds. However there is always the chance of Pacman stopping Hatton due to cuts and/or swelling.
And im not saying this because im a massive Hatton bacause im not. I just think hes wrong for pac man.

Your claims are so biased.
Skills - What the fukk does Juan Diaz know ? Has he ever stepped in a ring with Hatton ? No. It's just one man's opinion. So that argumnet is flawed already.
Power - Pac's KO ratio may be excellent. But Hatton's is higher FACT. And you cant deny that.
Stamina - Hatton when he fought Collazo was at welterweight. When he had 5 weeks to prepare. This fight is at 140. Tell me a time when Hatton has looked tired at 140 ? Fact is he hasn't, Hatton wins this category.
Chin - Do you know how stupid that statement sounds ? Mayweather hit Hatton all night, every round for 10 flush and Hatton kept coming. Pac has been knocked out twice in his career, once by a bum. Hatton has only been beaten by the very best. Who the fukk is Rustico Torrecampo ?
Heart - The heart shown by Hatton has been unbelievable at times. Like in the Collazo fight, staying on his feet in the last round after getting hit heavily. Constantly coming forward against Mayweather despite getting tagged all night, showing heart of a lion in beating Kosta Tszyu.
Experience - Pac has fought NOT ONCE at 140. Hatton has fought there 43 times. End of.
Ring generalship - Hatton bullys oppponents and pushes them back to the ropes. He takes total control.
Corner - Floyd Sr is by far better than Freddie Roach. Roach states Hopkins would get badly hurt in the Pavlik fight, look what happened. Roach stated Vazquez would get beat by Marquez in the 2nd fight, look what happened. Roach is deluded.
SaddoBoxer these statements are getting ridiculous, especially that heart one. Even Mayweather stated Hatton has the heart of a lion. Your blinded by Pac's dikk, that's the problem.

Without a doubt the most biased post in this thread.
How can you give them ALL to pac? it's clearly not true, you're just hugging his nuts once again.
Stamina... Hatton is known for being one of the best conditioned fighters out there.. he definately wasn't tiring out in the Collazo fight, he was struggling because he was being hit alot. We've all seen Hatton bounce around the ring for twelve arounds and never show signs of him tiring against KT, Collazo, Lazcano, Malignaggi to mention a few of his recent fights.
Hattons heart hasn't been tested yet? are you shitting me? Have you even watched any of Hattons last 10 or so fights?
As for the chin, the PBF fight doesn't really do his chin justice. Hatton walked through all of KT's punches and kept coming forward, and I think we can all agree KT hits harder than PBF.
The rest of your views on the other sections are debatable.. experience is a hard one, pac man has more fights but mostly all at lower divisions.. Hatton has been around 140 all of his career. Allthough this might not matter too much come fight night.
As for power... I think Hatton has more one-hit power but Pac man can undoubtably hit more so 4-5 pac man jab/straights will feel harder than 1-2 Hatton power punches.
And skills.. well I think it depends on what you define 'skill' as. To me, pac man just throws punch after punch flurry after flurry like a mad man until his opponent falls over and goes night night, and I think his defence isn't particularly good either, he just relies on his opponents to feel too scared to throw back, but JMM proved his defence wasn't too good after catching him a few times while pac threw like a mad man. But this is also what Hatton is known for doing, but judging off the malignaggi fight Floyd senior is definately getting some skill back into his game, with the jabbing, head movement, slipping punches etc.. so we'll see how the skill goes for each fighter on May 2nd.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
personally, I still have my doubts about pacman moving up in weight because even though he destroyed dela hoya, dela hoya clearly wasnt himself. Oscar usually puts up way more of a fight then that n i feel that the weight really killed him. I dont take anything away from pacman, he's #1 in my p4p opinion, but im just not 100% sold yet about the weight changes. I would deff love for him to prove me wrong and i hope he does.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Sometimes the 1 punch KO in early rounds is very humane thing to inflict on someone...
...Which Hatton surely won't get from the Pacmanian Devil. He will tear Hatton apart slowly from the opening bell.
Pac will score a couple of 10-8 rounds (maybe more) without knocking Hatton down. Ricky will be in a world of pain.

link --> Bernard Hopkins picks Pacquiao to win over Hatton
Interviewed on ESPN’S Friday Night Fight, Hopkins told host Brian Kenny that Pacquiao’s speed and power will spell the difference in his light-welterweight encounter with Hatton.
“I see Pacquiao pouring all the speed, scoring on side angles. Ricky Hatton’s not gonna know when to fight a different style at the right time, and I think that’s when Pacquiao is at his best, when guys come forward to him and picks him off," said Hopkins.
“Pacquiao has the fast hands, and Hatton’s style is to come forward and come forward. So look for Pacquiao to catch him coming in," he said.
“I don’t’ think he (Hatton) can better box than Pacquiao."
link --> Manny is too good for Hatton
COLIN HART says Filipino sensation Manny Pacquiao will beat Ricky Hatton when the pair collide on May 2.
Despite acknowledging the Hitman's improvement under new trainer Floyd Mayweather Snr, the Voice of Boxing reckons Pacman will emerge victorious from their Las Vegas showpiece.
And Hart believes Pacquiao will go on to cement his place as one of boxing's greatest-ever fighters once he is finished with Hatton.
Hart said: "This is the biggest fight of the year so far.
"There are many boxing cliches and one of the biggest is that styles make fights. These two have got the styles to make it a war from beginning to end.
"This fight will be decided on speed. Pacquiao has got extremely fast hands, he's faster than Hatton, and at 140lbs he will be too quick for Hatton.
"It'll be a fascinating fight and a very close one.
"But Pacquiao will assert himself after the halfway stage — as he did against Oscar De La Hoya.
"Unfortunately for Hatton's fans who went to America with high hopes when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jnr, I think they're going to be disappointed again.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Pacquiao stops Ricky in the later rounds, maybe nine or 10."

These are new developments about the topic...
I think those 2 articles I recently posted, "Hopkins picks PAC to win over Hatton" and "Manny too good for Hatton" greatly backed the thread title...

you make me not care really. And they really do not back up anything to do with the thread title....it just keeps it breathing and supports your agenda.Surely if they stated the opposite you would start a thread "Why does senile Hopkins hate on Master Pac and his greatness" or some carnival barker tripe like that.Your glass dude...see through :cwm13:
Isn't it the article "Manny too good for Hatton" rhymes well with the thread title??
.
'Manny too good for Hatton' does not rhyme with 'Do u think Pac will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?'
