I have to agree, taking control of your own career is something all boxers should do. promoters are pimps.

Hayes Ability at managing his personal finances, after he's earned them, does not reflect on his boxing, which is what this site is about. There are plenty of boxers who have squandered their hard fought gains (on Vanderbilt trucks for example). The point about Haye is that he is capable, lucky for him, of bypassing the normal dodgy promoter/tv company/arena company stitch up. Billy Walker is our best example before Haye of maximising his earning power and retiring well without ever having won a single title, man was a legend and well liked in our village when he lived here.
Eubank has promoters bitching with each other publicly over twitter about whos getting to promote him!! ;D
Yeah, unfortunately "Twitter World"doesn't really mean shit. In the real World , Eubank Sr. Has proved himself to be poor with his finances and business savvy (which is what we were actually talking about) , and in his next fight ,they've chosen to fight for a British Title for 15% of what they could've had fighting for his choice of 2 World title shots.
Ps. I didn't bother putting a smiley emoji because I didn't think it necessary and I don't need to mask the fact that I am fucking clueless.
Thing is the discussion is so scattered I've got no idea what anyone is talking about
I get that were having a go at David Haye, yes?
what are we having a dig about? he's not very good with his finances? is that it?
1st sentence - exactly, we weren't talking about Eubank and Twitter and the rest. But I suppose with your limited Knowledge, you have to Churn out the same old Drivel.
2nd sentence - I deliberately wrote that because I knew what your reply would be. Still paranoid about what other people post aren't we? 😂
The difference is my emojis were justified. "You thick cunt" was comedy gold imo!
How old are you?
fuck you two then
ill talk to myself
aww , come on @erics44 , don't be like that. what do you want to talk about? ;D
To be fair Twitter is a gauge to how popular certain fighters are.
For instance - Tyson Fury has 347,000 followers, David Haye has 1.09 million.
Anyone else hearing it could be Lucas Browne next for Haye ? ;-)
If he's the one that now has a version of the title then yes I've heard that
Thats great then. Hes the heavyweight twitter champion of the world;D
He also doesnt have a pot to piss in:cool:
Meanwhile unpopular Tyson Fury has been in the biggest and going to be in the second consecutive biggest heavyweight world title fight the world has seen for years and is the best heavyweight on the planet;D
Scraping the barrel there fenster, fuck sakes! Quoting twitter followers as some sort of barrometer of a boxers worth;D
Some silly petty arguments in here today:rolleyes:
@ross we all have favourite fighters dude, and I know its hard not to ne bias, we just have to be realistic about their standing in the boxing world and I think you struggle a bit with where fury is sometimes
I'm just lucky that my favourite ever Heavyweight was not only the most popular fighter in history he was also the best lb4lb fighter in history
Eric read back what you just posted.
You think I struggle with Furys standing in world boxing?
My understanding and the fact of the matter is that he is the best heavyweight in the world and considered the lineal champ as Wlad was.
So what am I not getting here Eric?
I think you will find its a few others who struggle to understand his standing. So much so they cant use actual boxing to discredit him because hes unquestionably the best in the heavies. He went to Germany and beat an all time top ten great. They have to ise twitter fans!!;D fucking pathetic!
yeah I don't think anyone is disputing he is currently the best, I think he's proved he is the best, I just don't think he is the best with a cherry on the top :)
and I think you struggle with Bruno's standing in world boxing, if he fought today, not only would he be world heavyweight champ, he would be a multiple times miles bigger draw than fury and Haye put together
Have you seen Bruno has just been given a ranking.....
I'm going a tad off topic here but
Just wondering Ross, do you see any flaws in Tyson Fury at all? I mean I have never heard you say that he has anything at all that he could at least work on, surely you must think that there is one tiny little thing that he could improve slightly on, lets just call it constructive criticism.
Not having a pop just genuinely wondering, I've got fighters who I think are great but I can still point out areas that could do with some work.
Of course he has flaws.
What he does well though is too much for everyone else. I agree he hasnt got an Oliver McCall chin but hes very hard to hit when hes focussed. By rights acording to the experts on this forum Wlad was unbeatable and should have wiped Tyson out inside a few rounds. The first shot he landed it would be over. What they didnt count on was Tyson sticking to a plan and putting all his attributes to very good use. What use is power if you cant land or even set yourself up to throw? The thing is though like I pointed out many times the similarities between Clay v Liston and Fury v Klitschko was Clay was seen as weak and easy to hurt. He went in there with the most intimidating and powerfull fighter in the world, took shots off him but run rings round him and even pressured him. Tyson did exactly the same as I said he would. What good is trying to be intimidating when you are facing one of the most mentally strong fighters in the world that can turn you on your head and intimidate you in your own hometown on your own show?
Every fighter has flaws, even Mayweather but what he does well is too much for everyone else.
@ross
Your far too carried away here with Fury.... "Best Heavyweight on the Planet" ;D
You can ONLY be basing this "Post Wlad" because Fury had fought no one of note at all before that and Wlad didn't throw any punches and simply didn't fight.
To say he's the best on the planet is simply Bullshit bearing in mind you've got BIG punchers in Wilder, Joshua, Haye and you could even say Whyte out there who he has yet to get in the ring with.
Lets wait and see what happens in a Wlad rematch first before we start spunking all over our Tyson Fury boxer shorts shall we ;)
If Wlad comes to fight and seriously puts it on him then you may well have a point but until he's faced the rest of the young guns in the division and beaten them soundly and done a "Live" Wlad then shut the fuck up.
For fuck sakes!
Before the fight you all said Wlad was this that and the other would still smash the whole division and now Tyson has proved himself you dont like it and feel he hasto somehow prove it wasnt a fluke. Lets get it right, nothing that happened that night was a fluke. Tyson had everything against him. Fighting on a K2 show, in Germany, soft canvas, shit gloves, Wlads got everything in his favour yet Tysons skill won him almost every if not every round and won by unanimus decision on the cards and its a fluke!;D
You lot are unbelievable!
To be the best you have to beat the best.
Wilder is still looking shit against johrneymen. Joshua looks like the second coming of Bruno and Ortiz is an old Cuban whos been done for steroids and being cuban it wont be ling before he lets himself down again. Cuban heavies dont know when to stop eating!
Before Tyson beat Wlad im sure had you been asked how Joshua and Wilder would have done against him the answer would be much different to what your trying to say now. Tyson proving what he can do on the big stage doesnt suddenly make them better by association!;D:rolleyes:
Fury beat Wlad in his own turf, with all the dirty tricks that he normally pulls and was comprehensively beaten. Fury the enough punches to win the rounds, the reason why Wlad did not punch was because he was afraid he was going to get knocked out. Respect where it is due.
Scraping the barrel?
On the previous couple of pages the discussion was about why Haye has such a big fan base. Having over 3X more twitter fans than the heavyweight champ of the world would strike me as relevant to the topic.
Only a complete and utter weirdo mental spastic would possibly get upset by someone pointing out a fact like that.
Only someone who is annoyed they have no other argument would use it;D
Someone discussing the popularity of a fighter provides a guide to the popularity of a fighter.
Where's the argument you pathetic imbecile?
@ross, I finally think I have a way of making you understand how it is with Fury. It's a bit long, but try to keep up.
When you were at school, you used to play conkers right? Now if you had a conker that had won 40 matches, and I had one that had won 2 matches , if I beat you, my conker took your conker's record and became a "43er".
THIS AIN'T FUCKING CONKERS!!! Yes, Wlad had built this reputation by consistently beating guys for over 10 years easily. But Fury doesn't take that. His belts yes, but his "legacy, or greatness" no.
Fury has had one very good win, and that's it. Now I give him total credit for that, I admit I didn't expect it. At the same time, not once did I say he would get KO'd in a few rounds.
But it's 1 VERY GOOD WIN. nobody's taking that from him, but he needs to carry on and beat a few others before he gets to the level YOU put him at.
Fury doesnt take his record no dont be numbskull...
He has proven hes better than the best is what he has done.
Get over it girls.
Its going to happen again and then he will beat the left overs clinging on to the scraps.
I don't think anyone can dispute that fury is the best heavyweight around
you could have the opinion that that someone else could/would beat him but at the minute he is the best, number one
we were discussing who has the biggest fan base though I thought, and he doesn't seem to me like he has that
yes his last fight was a big fight, but all wlads fights are big fights
his next fight is probably gonna be a massive fight if he fights wlad
can you really argue that its fury pulling in the fans though?
I have no idea how wlad pulls the fans by the way, his fights are always shit because of him
Well for someone who doesnt pull in the fans he got a bigger audience against Wlad than Haye did.
Explain that?
