The Commuter (2018 ) 7/10
Keeps your attention, worth watching. Could have been a bit more intelligently written.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/...40,209_AL_.jpg
The Wall (2017) 1/10
The worst war movie I've ever seen - very dull and frustrating to watch. Halfway through I thought "it's got to get better than this, something is surely going to happen" but nothing ever really happens, and the movie became even worse toward the end.

The Headsman (2005) 8/10
A very good historical movie about the persecution of Protestant anabaptists in the 16th century, during the time of Emperor Charles (who ruled both the Spanish and Holy Roman Empires) and his younger brother Ferdinand (archduke of Austria).

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
'The Night of The Demon' 1957....actually a decent little flick, had good special effects for the time, but it was a bit ambitious with them so it took some risks and didn't pass ALL of them.
Zabriskie Point was just awful...it's relevant to today's politics but holy shit it was poorly executed

I liked The Night of the Demon. A relative of mine (3rd cousin of my paternal grandfather) is in the opening scene, but sadly, he soon dies.

Ah Professor Harrington I presume! The first man cursed by the runes on the parchment.
That dude was in a lot of films and tv programs, I mean a BUNCH

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The Titan (2018 ) 5/10
This movie had potential, with a very good cast (Sam Worthington, Nathalie Emmanuel, Tom Wilkinson), and with excellent technical direction and cinematography. It also has a nice score.
However, the story although it begins well enough, badly deteriorates during the second half.

Son of Aladdin (2003)
It's on Netflix and the only language is hindi, but there's English captions. Very badly animated. Awful movie. I loved it.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Calibre (2018 ) 7.5/10
Lots of tension in this one. It's an above-average thriller, with a well-written story and convincing acting.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Point Break - The remake. Actually, I enjoyed it and when you take away the nostalgia I enjoyed it just as much as the original if not more. Ray Winston's Brit/American twang was a bit off putting and I much preferred Gary Busy as Pappas. I got the same feeling from this as I did from the TV series of Lethal Weapon in that I think I like these guys more than the originals.
A Star is Born. I don't care what you motherfuckers say, I loved it. Cooper and Gaga were awesome. I had no idea it had been done umpteen times before. What made it extra special was that the cinema had a cluster of woman all making far too much noise who all ended up balling their eyes out at the end.

Also recently watched Bad-Ass
It's about Danny Trejo being an old man and single handedly fucking up corruption in his city with hand to hand combat after he fucks up a couple of skinheads on the bus and the cell phone footage of it goes viral. 134/10. Action packed and full of mad jokes

Actually it scores pretty good points with the wives. ;)
I was dragged to see it..... then was glad I went.
Nice seeing Gaga without all the meat dresses and weird getups. She can definitely do.
Although on 2nd thought, she may have too much tit and flesh on her bones for you, Miles. ;D

Almost finished with first season of The Wire. Took awhile to get to it but worth the wait. Didn't realize the guy who plays Omar is the one who played Charley White on Boardwalk empire, great actor.

I'm not saying she can't look good......just saying she's got a look which is a little "mousy". I think it's the nose, but also the sunken cheeks, and teeth.
She looks like a rat the way Michael Moore looks like Jabba The Hutt which is to say not EXACTLY but close enough to draw the comparison

You're harsh, Lyle. ;D
I prefer to say she's got an unusual, exotic type of beauty. She's not bad from the neck down, either.

If we're talking series, I'm in the middle of Tin Star right now. A bit out there... but enough to keep my interest for now.

Hated both those remakes. Next you'll be saying you like the Macgyver remake as well. Point Break was not even close to the original.

Watched 22 July.

No bud that would be Rockford Files double header over the weekend ;D. Good distraction with him post Michael.
Stumbled into the Wire on Amazon. Start of second season is a little odd, new locales and shipyard story line but the show has real depth to it.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Point Break remake was ridiculous, it clearly didn't set out to be a remake it was the only way they could sell the film. Looked like they shot a load of electric stunt/action scenes but were unable (didn't have the money) to weave a proper plot/story/actors into it.
22 July - True story about Norway's Miles who murders a million "lefty" teenagers on a tiny little summer camp island. I haven't seen the last half hour but it wasn't what I expected as the director is Paul Greengrass (Bourne films), the initial attack is all wrapped up in the first half hour then it focuses on the loon in jail and the survivors.

I watched a few documentaries about it, they obviously don't want to overplay the horror in the film, but the saddest thing is the poor kids breaking cover when they saw the cop, literally ran to their death.
The cunt killed most of them because they thought he was saving them.

Unsane (2018 ) 8/10
Top-notch thriller. Claire Foy is a wonderful actress. Honest and realistic depiction of what's wrong with psychiatric hospitals and psych wards (I've worked on a psych ward, I've seen it first hand). It gives some insight into the mind of an obsessive stalker, although the character is made more extreme for dramatic effect.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The 15:17 to Paris was a decent film directed by Clint Eastwood.
It is the real-life story of three men whose brave act turned them into heroes during a high-speed railway ride. In the early evening of August 21, 2015, the world watched in stunned silence as the media reported a thwarted terrorist attack on train bound for Paris.
In an attempt prevented by three courageous young Americans traveling through Europe.
The heroic trio is comprised of Anthony Sadler, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, and U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Spencer Stone, who play themselves in the film

Searching. This film is told completely through laptop screens, social media, phones on FaceTime, hidden cameras and tv news .
I’d heard about it and thought I’d hate it but goddamn it works. Watch it you won’t regret it.

The Domestics (2018 ) 7.5/10
One of the better post-apocalyptic thrillers I've seen. It's never dull for a minute, and a lot happens in the 1 hour 35 minutes. Warning: it's a very violent movie, not one for the faint-hearted or for small children.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Mile 22 - It wants to be Bourne but is like an episode of 24 - shaky camera, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut, twisty wisty ending. Not bad though for a 90 minute life waster.
If they chinned Mark Weirdo from the film and focused on the Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee fella - who I assume is an "Asian" action star - it would have been a million times better, he was awesome and the women characters - as far as being able to bash up men - were the best i've seen in a film.
