Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
I am so sick of the contender. Did you guys know that Walter knocked down k9 in there fight? It was in the fourth round. It's also a coinsidence they didn't read the score cards in that fight

If he had really knocked him down in the fourth round I'm sure they would have have filmed it.
Sounds like sour grapes to me, maybe K9 fell it and it was judged a slip.
But seeing how the Contender show lives off drama it seems completely inexpicable that they would leave out a knockdown when all of the other knockdowns they have show at least 4 times from every angle accomponied by some massive orchestral score.

cc good point Bilbo. I cant imagine them letting a KD happen without showing it on the show. The would have built up so much drama with that KD and K9 still winning.
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
Walter told me personally and just type it in google. All the commentators agree it was a knockdown. Anyways this show is rigged
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
wasn't this the only fight with no scorecards?
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
k-9 is a terrible boxer. It is embarrassing to watch him fight and to think he is fighting for the bronze next week.. Pathetic!
I hope Bravo can deal with all the grabbing k-9 does.

i think k9 is too big 4 bravo. k9 will grab nd hold but sice it might be like an 8 round fight the ref will take a point away
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
Truthfully, I was highly disgusted with the officiating in the Bravo fight...
I had it a draw in my book and that was how it should have been...
How would they handle it?? You ask....
Well, they could goto a format like they do with the Ultimate Fighter and add rounds to the match in case is as close as it was with the last fight...
Not taking anything away from the other guy, but I think that a guy getting a 49-46 from a judge after getting knocked down in the first round is merely impossible....
Bravo had the fight of his life, I would say it was close and thats why I had it a draw....but, there cant be a draw when they have the finals the very next week....thats why they needed to do extra rounds...
Good Luck,
Coach

I hear ya but you only see like a third of the fight so...what you saw was a draw in your book you should say.
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
Well, frolm what I was seeing, I still had it a draw....
No matter what we got to see....His opponent still could not have possibly gotten a 49-46 score from a "Qualified" Judge....I just cant see it....

The only thing I could think of was maybe he dominated the round and K9 just caught him. So maybe the judge gave it a 10-9 instead of 10-8. Sounds strange to me too, but till we can see the full fight we wont know for sure.
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
I am talking about the Bravo-Brewer fight....

I agree with you it is mathematically impossible.
If Brewer lost the first round 10 -8 which he must have done seeing as he was knocked down then even if he won the remaining 4 rounds the maximum he could possibly score was 48.
Bravo scoring 46 means he won one round only obviously the first so the judges must have had him losing the next 4 rounds.
As Bravo needed just one round between 2 and 5 to make the fight a draw I agree completely that it seems very harsh that he lost the fight.

EXACTLY!!!!
And if people were watching and listening, everyone had it 2-2 going into the fifth...The funny thing was, they were thinking rounds and not about the score...
Bravo won Rounds 1(10-8),2(10-9)
Brewer won Rounds 3(10-9),4(10-9)
I felt they both split the fifth round, but could have given to Brewer for style....
making the cards 47-47 even draw....
This is where the show runs into a problem though....HOW THE HELL CAN THEY HAVE A DRAW???
This is where they need to make a added bonus to close fights such as this and possibly add more rounds if the fight is this close, dont rob a man because you close your eyes and put your finger on the name of the winner.
Good Luck all,
Coach
Re: The Contender Thread (Spoilers)
i was shocked k9 fought like that. he fought perfectly and would have beaten anyone from the contender. im also surprised that grady won too. steve looked like all he wanted to do was knockout grady
