Re: Nutter kills 20 teenagers in US campus
but if your a psycho major why dont u annalyze this cat and break him down according to your expertise. u of all people should provide a more deeper response to this than the next person. that is if you love being a psych major ;)
Re: Nutter kills 20 teenagers in US campus
Like I said brother he had delusions of prosecution and a messiah complex.....adding to which he may have been bipolar.
The whole deal is that in psychology and psychiatry you have to follow certain rules to ensure the rights of the patient...you also rely on government funding to run most mental health hospitals which usually takes a back seat to "more important matters".....well there is a BIG reason that like 80% of homeless people are unmedicated/self medicating(with drugs and alcohol) schizophrenics....it's really bad in California, I think Santa Monica maybe where they have a big problem with that.
As for this kid....he was never detained against his will (which can be done but is hard to do). The policies in place at the University and for the state of Virgina made it difficult to do anything about him. He obviously needed medication and LOTS of therapy....and he probably would never have left the funny farm once he was put in but it would be for the best for everyone

i disagree that he was bipolar cause generally speaking the bipolar people i encountered and possibly myself lol tend to be really really freakin happy and then realy depressed. theres no signs yet that this kid was every really happy. also bipolar people tend to be real creative and talented in some artistic artform of expression hahaha i havent really seen that in him yet? that is interesting in the messiah complex you mentioned.
i remember going back to when i used to drink alcohol i felt bipolar like effects meaning obviously a good buzzzzzz would make you feel good, but the stress drama of work/school/girls etc would bring you down once again. thats one of the other reasons why i quit alcohol too.
Re: Nutter kills 20 teenagers in US campus
you also mentioned government funding and how the government is to blame for the lack of funding etc. well alot of people suprise suprise especially in california actually blame RONALD REAGON for this one. they feel the reason there are so many homeless schizos running around is because of what they feel ronald reagon did in the 80's by releasing all the patients into the streets and getting rid of those programs and funding and yes ronald reagon.
so again thats their theory not mine. im sure u'll have a strong rebuttle to that one lol

there's different types of bipolar people. There's some cases where someone is either depressed or manic for weeks or months at a time and theres others (like what i used to have) when they can cycle between manic and depressive several times a day. Being manic doesn't nessesarily mean you are happy. When you are manic you have very high self esteem and being angry and irritated isnt that uncommon in this state. You get a god complex and feel that you can do anything because theres nothing in the world thats gonna stop you. It might seem to the person suffering from mania that they are in a good mood or they have good self-esteem but those around them who actually know them see it as them being an extremely cocky, arrogant, asshole with a highly inflated ego.

If you can control a manic state its the best thing that can happen to you (aside from the fact that you'll be crying later for some reason you cant understand). You get lots of energy and lose any amount of shyness you may have had. There's no doubt in my mind a person in a mania spell is way more productive than a regular person but regardless of how happy you are and all that a depressive state will kick in and it doesn't need something to set it off it will just happen. However on the same token if you're in a depressive state you'll automatically be in a good mood after some time passes and you have no idea why. I dunno it has its positives and negatives like everything else. I don't trust anit-depressives tho it looks like it messes up more people than it helps.

Re: Nutter kills 20 teenagers in US campus
u ever heard the saying alcohol is liquid courage?
well thats one thing i never wanted to depend on.
i mean if u need alcohol to give a presentation, hollar at some hot chick, or fly a plane then to me thats unstable.
i mean if i see some hot chick at the grocery store and i want to talk to her what am i gonna do buy some grey goose and cranberry juice and start mixing it up in the frozen food section? ;D
i conditioned myself to be GREAT without the need of any alcohol.
i used to be scared shitlesss to fly and always needed to get hammered before take off.
but now i just fly with ease just by conditioning myself the natural way :D
