Yet Haye completely walked through him.
I disagree, i didnt see him as any of that. Ive watched him fight guys like valuev and look fucking terrible. I dont think he had much to offer, i think he was the perfect guy to get attetion with, coz hes had so many title fights. But he had shit all skills really. At least rahman would of brought serious power to the table, ive never seen barrett as a powerhouse. I think Haye got hit with right hands too much for my liking and it will only take one from wlad or vitali to make haye see stars ;)
Barret has speed and power.
Rahman is so one-dimesnional.
Klitchsko took 7 rounds and Valuev took 11 rounds to get Barret out of there, Haye took 5 ;)
Dude styles make fights, just coz he knocked a guy out quicker then some other guys means shit all especially when the guy has been knocked out alot, that shit leaves a mark ;) Rahman is one dimensional....but he would of only had to land once and we would of seen how haye took a real heavyweights punch. No bitterness from me, i wanted haye to win but really...was he ever going to lose? To me he showed lots of flaws, like going straight back when the pressures on...hows that going to help him with someone taller and has reach on him? He wouldnt even get past vitalis jab with that performance ;)

But let me ask you this. Did Haye look like one of the best and most skilled heavyweights in the world?
Sure did.
Re: < David Haye vs. Monte Barrett > It's go time... Let's talk it out.
I'll try for an objective analysis here.
Good: His power carried up, he used some great angles, good win for his actual entrance into the heavyweight division, someone that can be metered against other top heavyweights. He made the fight exciting
Bad: His poor defensive technique also carried up, he ate every jab that came at him (bad idea against the Klits), he hasn't learned how to pace himself and had his mouth open after the 2nd round. He also does this thing where he springs straight back, by doing that he's doing half the work for his opponent to knock him down.
Overall: He is not quite ready for the Klits although I'd give him a good chance against most of the other heavies, a good next fight would be Arreola or even Peter.
Re: < David Haye vs. Monte Barrett > It's go time... Let's talk it out.
I think Haye has just cause to believe in his power in a huge way,but he is NO defensive wiz.He was hit tonight with many jabs, his hands were at his hips and he looked vertical.Power can change things in an instint but it is a two way street. All this talk of a KO of Barrett equaling an instant sparking of Wlad is premature. He needs to be graduale and consistant building up....don't be overly rushed to show off lapses against the very best.....and they are there to be shown Imo.Dude is young.

But yeah, he's a poor man's Jeff Lacy in a more glamorous division with more pro credentials that all are going to be questioned after his venture in the heavyweight division is through. Seriously he was WIDE OPEN in there jumping around with shots didn't land a clean punch with any of the ko force until the 5th round. If you're touting speed and power, you better be able to get the speed and power there cleanly. Haye's nickname suits him perfectly he is a haymaker fighter. He fights like guys played on Fight Night Round 2.
Vitali sees this, he's going along but Vitali or Wlad would absolutely work Haye. Still, he generates excitement for the division the way Lacy did.
I can't believe I am about to defend David Haye but you do know won a silver medal at the World Amatuer championships and that in unifying the cruiserweight division he has already acomplished much more than Jeff Lacy in the pro ranks too?
As for the rest, yes I hope he gets sparked soon.

When he fights and beats the 2 Slaps I'll bring this thread back up ;)

That's a great point, and I stopped just short of bringing that up but yes, there is no Joe Calzaghe in this division. However, I do thing there is a sizeable gap in talent between Haye and the Klitschko brothers or really anyone else at the top of the division.

They could have got a lot worse than Barrett IMO. Lets just hope he picks it up in his next fight...

I didnt think about that with Haye I just didn't articulate it very well. Just saying, people were saying that about him (Lacy) a lot more then I've heard Haye fans brag on what he did in the amateurs. Like I said he has more pro credentials.
So no I articulated that fine it was just you who needed clarification.

How the hell did he get hurt ?
:lolhaha:
Seriousley, you Americans arent one for credit where it belongs.
well i wont give haye crwdit for beating Monte any way since hes not even a top 10 HW but i bet haye will be in the top 10 for beating him which will be stupid.
but the fight proves he doesnt have a chance of being the HW champ so i wont worry about it.

Go for it ;) No problems here, if he does win then he proves me wrong...ive been wrong before so another time is going to kill me. But i will say this he could get lucky and spark wlad...he will not and i repeat CAN NOT beat vitali.
