I reckon that Usyk takes this by unanimous decision, something like 116-112 or similar. I see a much less dramatic fight than last time, but with Usyk clearly outboxing an overweight Fury over the latter half of the fight.
Keep following me for more great tips.
Nothing left for Usyk now is there really?
Not really. Dubois the only option that makes a bit of sense.
Do that and walk away
Usyk could have a case for winning all 3 awards for 2024.
Fighter of the year
Fight of the year (Fury I)
Round of the year (Fury I RD9).
If there is one knock I can give Usyk it's this
He has never gave any elite fighter a beatdown or a total schooling.
Yes he's beat AJ x2, Gypsy King x2 and Triple D but he didn't run them outta the ring. All the fights against those guys were very competitive. He has yet to do what Spence to did to Crwaford, what RJJ did to Toney, what Mayweather did to Canelo, what Ray Leonard done to Duran in their 2nd fight. What Hagler done to Hearns. What Ali did to Liston.
Every great fighter needs a few ass whoopings at elite level or super dominant victories in their pocket. Usyk does not have any.
His accomplishments are much greater than his ability, and that's proven by the fact he's never given an elite fighter a beatdown or a total schooling.
Usyk isn't incredibly skilled in any area. He's good in all areas. He's the "finds a way to win" guy.
Which is awesome.
But just imagine for a second that you didn't know who Usyk was, and you watched him fight.
I think, if ppl were being honest, you'd be underwhelmed with his power, his speed....you'd see he has good defence and feet but isn't a shockingly talented fighter. He just frustrates guys with his toughness.
Fury, as a big super heavyweight, should of just stuck his jab out. Done some work at mid-range and then tied Usyk on the inside' Over and over again, that is what Lennox Lewis would have done, and so would of Wladimir Kiltschko'.
It was Fury’s (and AJ's) inability to fight like a good big man, which lost them the fight.
A prime Mike Tyson obliterates Usyk.
I know this is kinda off topic but prime Mike is probably the worst match up (stylewise) for an Usyk type and I rate Usyk highly within this era of Heavyweights, he is the most accomplished active fighter in the sport of boxing.
Hell, Even post-prison Tyson spanks the Ukrainian. Too much power, too much aggression.
Usyk likes to control distance and Tyson has quick feet and closes the distance very fast, while not coming straight in but bobbing and weaving changing levels. Usyk won't have the control that he likes to have and Usyk's use of angles will be negated by Tyson's squared up almost ambidextrous stance. Tysons style and speed/agility/athleticism would be too much for Usyk. Usyk is better off with someone who will try to box him conventionally.
Micheal Spinks was essentially the Usyk of the 80's 'Mike Tyson blasted him out in 91 seconds'. Prime Mike was a force of nature
I do get what you are saying. A few friends who watched the fights - casual fans - have said the same. They want to see explosive kos and beatings but we've not seen that from usyk because of his size and the way he has to fight. He does what he has to do to win and is one of the most skilful fighters we've ever seen. His heavy fights have all been close agreed. Dubois went down with fatigue after being outclassed but he's just not a fighter that's going to come in and blow someone away.
Let's see your predictions on masters other thread with him against the greats.
