Mosley got that one. Cotto was the more dominant of the two for the majority of the match & as I said...there aint a human on the face of the planet that can convince me that Cotto wasn't hurt down the stretch by Shane.

Honestly...I was afraid that he had broken his right hand or some S***. It didn't look like Shane did anything in the 9th to hurt him...but something went wrong. They said that that cut opened up in his mouth from the Judah fight...that was a HORRIBLE cut...but I saw no blood.

Oh well...either way...he won & Mosley weren't denying it or rushing in for a second bout.

I totally agree Ono it reminded of Marquez vs Barrera which was good fight but never really took i was expecting a bit more from Cotto vs Mosley fight it was quite scrappy to watch it was good fight and 10th round was good but it never really took off for me.

Cotto with 1 or 2 exceptions,not effected at all. THis is one I called or thought total shortbus...... :dunce: :dunce: I call them like I see them and Mosley Did just Enough To Lose and Cotto just absorbed and learned buu-koo skills. What really surprised me was cotto was faster than mosley and even stronger. I didnt expecy that at all. Great effort by both guys. Tonight should have been a great night for boxing but the judges in the Casa-Cruz fight took that away from us.

Agreed. It certainly does show the caliber of Mosley...& then re-enforces that of Cotto.

Still...there wasn't a point in the bout that I really felt secure with Cotto handily defeating Shane...which is why I never wanted to see the bout in the first place.

That was a tough fight to score. I really do need to be sober when I watch it again - you're a bad influence, Wacko.

That was an excellent fight. I predicted Mosley would win but dont mind getting it wrong. Cotto won the vast majority of the early rounds of the fight and it was this buffer that gave him the edge .Mosley should have stuck and moved more instead of trying to trade with Cotto so early. Easier said than done, I suppose. Mosley became more effective in the 7th (I think it was this round) when he seemed to be on his toes more and was flicking out the jab and following up well.

It was odd seeing Cotto retreating in the later rounds and Mosley definitely worked his way back into the fight here. Cotto could not be overwhelmed and in his own way was effective on the back foot in that he could still come up with powershots.

Cotto won the brawl in the first half of the fight wheras Mosley commanded the ring in the second half.

Cotto definitely edged the fight by a couple of rounds.

Mosley has nothing to prove and may very well retire. Cotto has a range of possible matchups. Possibly the winner of Mayweather: Hatton.

Shane Mosley (49 fights, 44 wins, 4 losses, & 37 ko's) vs. Miguel Angel Cotto (30 fights with 25 ko's & no losses) Round 12: JUST LET IT END!!!!! BEAUTIFUL FIGHT!!!! BELL!! Mosley jabbing. Cotto to the body. Clench. Cotto fires his jab right back. Mosley walking Cotto down & eating Cotto’s jab. Right hand by Shane. Left hook fro Mmosley. Shane jabbing. Shane pushes Cotto to the ropes. Mosley slips & falls on the wet spot. Cotto eats a hook & peppers the body. Hook by Shane. Cotto misses with his body shot & fires a right. Left hook by Shane. Big right by Cotto. Jab from Shane. Cotto up stairs & Mosley to the body. Jab & a left hook from Cotto. Mosley jabbing. Cotto moving & keeping his distance. Notihgn happening. Cotto might have given that fight away with the last round…I gave it to Shane.

Round to Shane.

Cotto by Split Decision...or a draw...that was close.

He says that he thought that he had the fight in the bag & was fighting safe.

I aint buying that...something was up. While Cotto was not fighting with the same intensity that he was over the first 10 rounds...he was still fighting...not running. Personally I think that something was wrong with him...no one will convince me that he wasn't injured.

I think people were looking for an epic, see-saw battle and buying into the commentary. Cotto was way ahead coming into the last rounds (6-3 after 9 on my card). He hadn't dominated Mosley by any stretch, but he was consistently getting the better of it and winning rounds. He took a breather in the 10th because he felt he could and after he won the 11th he coasted thru the 12th. A bit risky since I only had him winning 7-5, but he was a clear winner.

There's no question in my mind Cotto gave away the 10th and 12th, but the question is could Mosley have won them anyway. Looking at the 11th, it's certainly possible.

It was a good close fight and Mosley can take the moral victory of finishing strong. I can see a draw but Mosley winning just wouldn't sit right with me.

People were so focused on him running and holding they didn't really look at the rounds themselves, but unless the layoff was a huge factor and he can shake it off, he's done at the top. Unless he really needs the money it's not worth the embarassment of losing to one these Diaz's who he would've clowned a few years ago.

The commentators were making out that he was hurt,that they've never seen him back up,that's because they have not seen enough of Cotto. He used to outbox opponents all the time. He was outboxing Shane. I had the last round for Shane or draw,but thats irrelevant as I had Cotto winning by 2 at that point already. It was a close fight,Miguel won.End of.

Not the fight i expected and to be honest it wasn't as good as the Hype suggested with the only real trading going off late on in rounds but Cotto is hard as nails and seems to have developed a granite chin from somewhere ;D
