Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
I do not believe Fury should weigh more for the rematch. A few tweaks and he could get the win. The fight did take a lot out of Usyk.
Tyson has got the purpose of revenge now.

The clowning wasn't showing off, it wasn't toying. It was panic. A placeholder for doing work. The realisation hit him quick. This man is making me do things I don't want to do, and I don't know what to do about it. So I'll pretend I've got some control. You could see it etched across his face.
The bottom line is, if Tyson could have repeated what he did from rounds 3-6 or wherever you feel he was most dominant, If he could have simply done more of the good things he did, he would have. He couldn't. He didn't choose not to. He wasn't allowed to.

Totally agree with how you see it.

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
When I saw the Ukrainian whince and hop up and backwards like a rabbit from an uppercut I had a feeling that he fractured a mandible. I think he also has a hairline fracture in one of his ribs on the left side from another uppercut. He was definitely being smashed to bits. So it definitely took a lot out of him for sure. And fighting a super heavyweight as mediocre as he is in Anthony Joshua two times certainly took a lot out of him as well. I think Tyson Fury belts the living crap out of him in the rematch taking no prisoners and taking no chances and it will be all business and no Muhammad Ali impersonations

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
So hearing the rematch is now on for December 21st.

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
Usyk v Fury rematch set for December - Saudi official
Undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are set to meet in a rematch on 21 December, according to the chairman of Saudi Arabia's general entertainment authority.
Usyk beat Fury by split decision to become the first undisputed champion of the four-belt era on 18 May.
A rematch was said to be in the works for October but Turki Alalshikh says the date has been pushed back to December.
"The world will watch another historical fight again," Alashikh added on X.
"Our commitment to boxing fans continues. We hope you enjoy it."
Ukrainian Usyk, the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, added Fury's WBC belt to his WBA, WBO and IBF collection when they fought in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
Alashikh did not name a venue or destination for the rematch but stated it would take place "during Riyadh Season".
The contest would give Briton Fury the opportunity to gain revenge after tasting defeat for the first time in his 16-year professional career against Usyk.
It is unlikely that all four belts will be on the line in the rematch with the IBF planning to strip Usyk as he will not be facing its mandatory challenger next.

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
They should forget about undisputed after the next inevitable fragmentation. Pointless
-
Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
I think both boxers need time off to rest and recuperate. Just hope Fury does not bloat up in weight and stays in control.
The December date is a reasonable and allows them to get back to their best again.
Some of the titles will go but it does not matter as these are the top 2 boxers in the division. None of the title holders can claim to be a real champion.

The only way I got hurt is that I couldn't get the 50 million dollars that he got or maybe he got more. As far as you go, learn to cope when somebody calls somebody a rabbit 😆 I'll tell you you really got triggered by that rabbit comment 🤣🤣🤣

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
It was a really good fight and it deserves a rematch. Both guys will think they can make adjustments now and win.
I can’t help thinking that boxing will cock this up though, and the titles will be fragmented (though if they do that it really will prove to the public that title belts are meaningless as Usyk and Fury are so clearly the very best two heavyweights around at the moment), or Fury will pull out/postpone, fail a drugs test or do something stupid!

I understand what you’re saying to a point mate. But what a disrespectful hypocrite you are when I think of all the Brits in the past that have won alphabet titles that you have lauded. Fucking hell. ;D

But the real question is which bandwagon are you gonna jump on this time?
Are you gonna go off the top board and hang on Fury’s nuts now you’ve said that he didn’t try hard enough and even alluded to the “big fix”
You basically said he gave up, so are you backing him again? ;D;D;D

Could come round a bit quicker than we think.
Usyk gets stripped of the IBF Title
Winner of Dubois/Hrgovic fights Joshua for the vacant title on the undercard of Usyk/Fury 2 .
Winner of the Joshua/Hrgovic/Dubois fight takes on the winner of Usyk/Fury 2 for all the belts again.

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
Fights on the doorstep of major Holidays can always seem iffy. Massive travel weekend too. In the big picture six months is a long time, especially for Fury imo. But in the spirt of Christmas and with the gift of giving in the air I wonder if ol Turki and the boys will slash a ppv price and slap a bow on it. Not too worried about the belts because we all know is top of the food chain at the moment. Good to see them both centered on the rematch though and looking forward to it big time.

True but do we actually care about all the belts. I stopped caring a long time ago. Like nearly half my lifetime ago. Christ:-\

Yep me too. Hope Fury can motivate himself one more time. Wasnt there a fight last year week before Xmas? Could become a traditional new fight weekend like first in May and mid November used to be.
This time I'm 60-40 Usyk. Fury going into a fight without the mental edge over an opponent. New territory.
Will John be told to watch the fight from back home in Morecambe.....

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
No one tells John Fury what to do!! He'll fucking swim there. He's a fighting man and means what he says!!

Nah it's just weird watching a grown man behave like a child :-X
I know people that scored the fight for Fury by a round
None of them have felt the need to make up narratives :-\
Anyway I'm looking forward to the rematch
Both fighters should be fully rested by then & can once again bring their best :D

Agreed. Great fight. Narrow win and we all want to see it again.
I even missed my 9000th post as was that glad they'd announced rematch

Well since you are the judge of all human behavior I guess we should all agree with you. After all you've never seen anybody called names before and you are the shining beacon of good behavior and morality and maturity. You're the typical Anglo-Saxon man. I eat you guys for breakfast

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
Asked if Fury was the toughest fight he had been in and if ‘The Gypsy King’ was the hardest puncher, Usyk told the Three Knockdown Rule podcast: ‘Toughest fight – yes. Biggest punch – no. Because Derek Chisora, very tough guy. [One punch landed] on the gloves and I said, “Oh my God.’ Like a baseball bat.”’

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
On his way to sparking out The Rabbit by the eighth round and then decided to make it close and play Russian roulette to justify a rematch and then blew it by getting hit on tip of the nose (at the junction of the supratrochlear and supraorbital veins, and it receives small veins upwards to underneath the eyelids. Got hit on the tip of the nose. After that he was done. Bad luck but he deserved it by gambling stupidly. Ego-dystonic behavior is something he is in treatment for. Andrew golota had something like that, where when he had something going good and going his way, he would self-sabotage. Just like big Jay how he self-sabotaged 🤣 and became my breakfast FFS.

The one problem with that delusional thinking is that Fury was never in control. Quite the opposite for large parts of the fight. Why do you find it so impossible to give credit to Usyk? Is it some weird anti political correctness thing because he is Ukrainian or something?
-
Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
Pretty ironic that the first time Fury was seen in public out and about that he was giving us a live reenactment of round 9. He had the stooper and stumbling down perfectly in the front of that pub. Well done champ.

I call him the rabbit the sausage the shithouse but I never thought about the fact of his Ukrainian anti-political correctness thing or whatever it is you described. I certainly give him credit for outpointing Tyson Fury even though I had it pretty much a draw. I certainly do give him credit for that. But what I wrote is the way I think it happened

Fury is just letting his hair down, relaxing and recharging his batteries after a hard fight against Usyk. He needs to get the urge of drinking out of his system and doing it in a big way. A bit like Ricky Hatton. :p

If Tyson butchers his ribs again and cracks or splinters that mandible of Usyk again, it'll go how it HAD BEEN GOING and he'll avenge

Re: Fury v Usyk is on.............!
Tyson Fury says he is "back in the gym" preparing for his rematch with undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on 21 December in Saudi Arabia.
The English fighter suffered the first defeat of his pro career last month, losing a split decision to Ukraine's Usyk.
Fury, 35, says he is "relishing" the opportunity to seek revenge and posted a video of him training on a heavy bag on his Instagram.
"I’ve done everything in boxing but I ain’t come back from a loss," Fury said.
"I relish it, the chance to come back and redeem myself. December 21st is all me, undisputed here we come."
The rematch is still six months away but Fury says he is "counting down the days" until he can get "redemption".
