How could you not be? Also although initially I bought into the whole "MJ is a pedo" story when it broke the reality and evidence of the situation make me more dubious of those accusations.
Also Chris Jericho is a legend of a wrestler. Probably the best ever non-American on the mic and his in ring work was great as well.

Those court papers that were on smoking gun really made me think MJ was a kiddy toucher. Bringing the Nation of Islam to court was also a sign he was preparing for jail. All the payouts and sleep overs were quite weird. Now he want convicted so I have to include that. As far as his music goes I was never into it, some of the Jackson 5 stuff was good but I think he was more of an entertainer than anything else.

Great movie spics. Yes it has a biblical part to the plot but i never thought it created any controversy as it’s approached very calmly and no preaching or pushing the subject. Is it on Netflix by any chance I’d really like to see it again. Like you I’ll watch any apocalyptic movie as long as it’s rated 4.9 or above on imbd. I also can’t get enough of good zombie flix
Loved The Book of Eli, and it helped to have Denzel and my favorite bad guy, Gary Oldman. Don't get much into zombie movies, though. I find them to be basically lifeless.
Oldman is great. That Churchill movie he did, though rather a crappy movie, showed his range and he did a great Churchill. And interesting tits, I didn’t know anyone didn’t like zombie movies. Did you see world war Z
No, bro. Didn't see it. I did see I Am Legend, which I liked. I guess I prefer tougher, faster moving zombie-like creatures.
My favorite Oldman movie of all time still remains The Professional.
I am legend was phenomenal. The zombies also were getting intelligent. There are a lot of crappy zombie movies made but when you catch a good one it’s the shit. 28 days was a good one as well. The follow up was not as good but not horrible.
The zombies in I Am Legend are not the monster, Will Smith is, the bogey man who hunts "us" (the masses) at "night." It was made in the 70s - Omega Man, with Charlton Heston, which was far more political (obviously for the time). Not that I understood that as a kid, I found it genuinely scary, like all those 70s zombie/apocalypse/disaster flicks. Great stuff.

Manchester by the Sea - this is like a sentimental grievers version of Good Will Hunting. Proper adults film. Beautiful setting. Casey Affleck is brilliant doing me.

I have always pictured you as Hong Kong Phooey the mild mannered grief stricken Janitor...only with a stetson instead of a headband.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Ok so my last two movies have consisted of one I expected to like..... but hated.... and one I expected to hate.... but liked.
"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was the biggest waste of 3 hours I have ever experienced. Tarantino should be flogged for that one.
"Where'd You Go, Bernadette" turned out surprisingly good after a slow start. Thought it would be a run-of-the-mill chick flick. Didn't realize Cate Blanchett could look that pretty.

Caught the promo the other night. Looks like they're trying for full on vengeful crazed serial killer at this point.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I think Stallone should do Rocky and Rambo movies till he's 90. That way we can do a decade by decade comparison and wager on which character will fizzle out first.

Yesterday by Danny Boyle
If you like the Beatles music you'll love this movie. 👌
A struggling musician realizes he's the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles after waking up in an alternate timeline where they never existed.

Somehow stumbled into Fistful of Dynamite aka Once upon a Time..the Revolution last night. That brought back a lot of memories. Not many Fathers sneak their toddlers into the drive in to see Sergio Leone flicks but he reminded us each time we watched them ;D. I really forgot how twisted this flick was, James Colburn was superb!

Absolutely fucked up movie.
It's long at 140 mins but definitely worth seeing.
I thought someone @-ed me about this film. Yeah I liked Hereditary, for a horror/thriller. This one is mental. It's The Wicker Man on acid made by Stanley Kubrick's biggest fan. The bear :D

I remember watching this with my dad too (on TV though). You know, it's original title is - Duck, You Sucker! :D They changed it to Fistful/Once for obvious reasons.

If Rambo couldn’t use guns do you think he could beat Rocky in a fight. That’s a tough one.

So it’s actually worth seeing. I’m a big Beatles fan I thought it was just another spin off using their music. That concept sounds pretty cool. I hope it’s be on Netflix

That's a good question, tusks..... and definitely worthy of analysis.
Let's see... Rocky was himself a shitty boxer. He totally telegraphed his punches, and had this annoying habit of letting opponents tee off on him (to the appropriate urgent music track) several times before he somehow got enough energy to stage a flurry of his own.
Out in the street, the only things Rocky did well at all were punch frozen sides of beef, and pose for Adrian in his muscle shirt.
Nah... Rocky would beat the shit out of him. He'd start by leg sweeping him off his feet, and then go all "jungle" on him.
Before too long Rocky would be calling for Adrian like he did at the end of the first movie.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Has anyone seen Joker yet? I generally boycott all films, but this one seems to have an edge to it that I want to experience. The harmful effect of bad parenting leading to mental illness and social issues is of course one of my favorite themes, so I have to give this one a view and apparently it has the critics all hot under the collar, so it must be pretty good. Viewers seem to love it.

For me the themes are intriguing. Basically an adopted baby with a manipulative and abusive mother who appears to have had a thing for violent thugs who in turn inflicted violence upon her child. What an evil cow and I think that is something that has some critics hot under the collar. It makes you think about society and how we have encouraged and promoted this kind of culture, the no responsibility single mother kind of culture, and we don't want to consider the consequences of that and the subsequent recklessness and nihilism that then ensues. Then of course the lack of a strong, decent father figure. Again, something we actually encourage young children to accept as normal today.
It is no wonder the film is so popular as it is taking on taboos that people are relating to in a powerful way.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
My point being that children need to be nurtured by decent people in loving families. How much mental illness is really the result of a shitty upbringing? I don't think society really likes that question. There will always be bad apples and one always has the capacity to improve, but what does neglect, violence, and societal abandonment do to someone? I think that is fascinating especially in the context of modern society with its alienation, and broken down families. People seem to have been affected by this film and I suspect it is because people can relate in some way. Not that they are going to become maniacs, but they do uncomfortably have empathy with that world and likely know something of it. It is psychologically very fascinating.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Ha!.. I haven't seen anyone else with the 'evil single mum' slant but you, but I guess that figures. Maybe watch it and see if you feel the same. I haven't seen it personally or hardly any films for 25+years but I wouldn't describe it as 'a boycott' (:
I am off location scouting today though and have been working on a script with a friend for months now. Promised myself I would start making personal films at 50 when I had honed the skills needed and had some stories to tell. Going to start a year early.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
You must be blind as that is a key element of it all. His laugh is apparently from brain damage induced by one of her flings and apparently it was a sordid upbringing in a world of rejection. Rather than guide him to maturity and independence she manipulated and lied to him and thus pays a price for what has been created. Then again, I haven't seen it yet and am going on user reviews who seem to be ecstatic and shocked at what they have seen.
I honestly do not watch many films at all. I cannot get from a typical film what I can from a book. It has to be very well done to have an impact and I am not interested in killing a little time.

I guess that will be explained

Nothing wrong with discussing the psychology of a character if it relates to a film. A lot of people are discussing similar things.
You cannot for instance talk about Psycho without questioning the psychology and background of Norman Bates. It is a central tenet of the entire story one is watching.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Dracula 1972 A.D. ......it was groovy baby :hippy:
Hammer films were schlocky kind of cheesy, but they have their place. I don't think those movies would scare a child, but the acting is ok, the actors of course are great Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are LEGENDS of film.
The films had just a slight bit more gore to them than the Hollywood classics and a little bit more titillation and that kind of put them in their own special place.
Up next is 1986's The Witchboard
I watched 'Friend Request' recently...got to say it was great on the jump scares, just build suspense for minutes until you're like "OK where's this jump scare coming from? Let's GO! Get on with it" it really would build a little anxiety up in you. Everything else about the movie was awful though.

Joker
Went to see this last night at the Cinema....
Brilliant performance from Joaquin Phoenix, Oscar worthy.
Brilliant film all round with a top soundtrack!!
Go see it - 9.5/10

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Witchboard starring one Tawny Kitaen.... You'd remember her from Whitesnake's Here I Go Again music video.
Looooong movie. Tawny Kitaen has a bit of a man-ish face, really rough looking these days. Smashup would have partied with her.

Hotel Mumbai - Proper good. Because of the way it was shot (looked more like TV than film) the shootings were seriously realistic, plus the archive footage spliced in to add to the realism.

Re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I am finally going to see it tomorrow. I can't wait. By all credible accounts it is meant to be a good film and I don't usually get excited about films.
