Rifftrax: Night of The Living Dead....very funny. After watching Rifftrax: House on Haunted Hill, I skipped NOTLD up to #1 on my Netflix queue.
the expendables (on blu ray) not seen since the cinema but just good fun;D
my mrs said she wont come & see scream 4 with me, i told her right thats it i aint watchin anymore of them twilight shite films anymore then
OK since the last time I posted on here I've seen:
The Expendables: I thought it was going to be awesome but it was extremely disappointing. #1 The action scenes were lit horribly so you couldn't tell who was doing what #2 The story was bogus #3 Guys like Ahhnold, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren had very small trivial roles and #4 Did I say the story sucked? It's a falsehood that "Action Movies" have 0 plot or porno-poor storylines...granted some movies have far out storylines, but this is just bad writing on display: The Dirty Dozen, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Bullit, Red Dawn, Rambo, Terminator, Rocky, Predator, Commando, etc all had decent enough plots and dialogue for most people to consider them classics. 'Point Break' is HANDS DOWN my favorite action movie of all time.
G.I. Joe the cartoon series Season 1 Disc 1: Well I was feeling a bit nostalgic and figured "What the hell, I'll try it".... :vd: I am absolutely shocked that when I was a kid between cartoons and Nintendo (the original NES of course) that I didn't have massive bouts of siezures from all the flashing lights and shit. It was kind of neat to look back on what I used to watch, but it was also disappointing because it's just a lot more boring than I remembered.....the storylines, action scenes, and dialogue were still better than The Expendables though....I was kind of disappointed they didn't have the PSA's at the end of each episode though you know the ones, they always ended with "Now you know.....and knowing is half the battle".
I think next up in my queue I've got Chinatown, My Little Chickadee (a W.C. Fields movie), and The Hurt Locker
Limitless - Awesome film enjoyed it from beginning to end. Entertaining and keeps you at bait thru the whole film.
Lincoln Lawyer - Fantastic. Really good acting Phillippe kicks ass in this film. Must see.
Just watched "My Little Chickadee" starring WC Fields and Mae West. WC Fields is ALWAYS funny, but Mae West was a one trick pony and her schtick got very old very quick.
Next up in my queue is the Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson classic "Key Largo"...and after that is Venture Brothers Season 4 disc 1.
Hobo with a shotgun, ridiculous over top violence but great fun. Any film that features two brothers flamethrowing a packed schoolbus and trying to saw off the head of the heroine has to be a worth a watch.
I watched Monsters Inc last night and I really liked it. I've seen it about 4 times. I like that Pixar stuff a lot.
No Country for an old man: Not bad at all actually, I had bigger expectations but it was quite good, load of action and a few cool lines.
Witch season: Not worth it, really. The twist at the end is a bit pathetic and the only positive side about the movie is that Ron Perlman is as per usual good. It's not the worst movie I've seen, it has a few good moments but overall, do not put it on the top of your list and watch only if in a total despaired mode with nothing else on your hands.
I watched Slapshot last night...total classic.
