Based on responses, maybe it's you who needs to go and watch the replay, no?

5-6 ROUNDS!!!! thats more than the judges on the night?!
115-112 was at least realistic, the other 2 judges, less realistic.
I had Cotto winning by 1 point, the knockdown in effect, level going into the final round.
I can see if you gave it 115-112, depends whether ur scoring for power or shots landed, activity etc.
9 rounds to 3 ur suggesting there The Game, I usually agree with you but cant see how you got that.
Cotto was landing the bigger blows, the cleaner blows, working the body, pumping the jab and bust Paulie up. You are mistaking courage for points. How anyone saw that going to the last round is beyond me.....Cotto wa salso blocking a VERY HIGH percentage of what Paulie threw at the beginning with great defence,Paulie landed later and the only rounds Paulie won was when Cotto did nothing for the round. Even one of the US commentators stated he was not counting the rounds but Cotto won by a large amount. To say 1 round....saying it was as close as Collazo and Hatton....noooooo way. I have seen the fight 3 times, the judges scorecards and the US commentator sooooo......and I have seen the fight 3 times,I suggest you take off the Hatton tinted glasses and watch it.
If it's as close as you guys said, why did Paulie look so dejected as soon as the fight ended and if there is only 1 round in it,Malignaggi will be shouting for a rematch won't he,becaus that was that close......

I can't remember what he did at the finl bell, but if that's what you're basing it on you're grasping at straws.
Hopkins pitched a shutout against Tarver, but didn't raise his arms at the bell and looked pretty sombre. Does that mean he lost too?

::** Cotto struggled. Harder blows to more cleaner crisp blows don't match up ;)
I think you're overrating Cotto's performance to be honest. He won the fight but in no way did he do it as easily as you're making it sound. And I think he would lose the rematch ;) Paulie's mistake was standing and trading after Cotto butted him. When he boxed he had your boy looking average at best.
Close fight but Cotto won. It was by no means as easy as you're making it sound. Kudos to Malignaggi for doing what he did considering what was against him.. and doing it with a broken jaw and nose ;)

i ALREADY stated what I was basing it on and that was just a further example first and second,I was using that as an example in the context of this fight....did I say it applied to all fights....no.....if it was as close as you say,1 round, then surely Paulie might have felt he won it?? Surely he'd ask for a rematch straight away?

Hold your horses Game, Im not attacking you so need to get so defensive. I know Cotto's your favourite fighter but calm down a sec.
This has nothing to do with "Hatton tinted" glasses, Im a huge fan of Cotto, I always pull for the guy and I believe always will unless he faces Hatton (patriotism).
If you watch the fight again, Paulie lands a lot. And judges count damage, workrate, accuracy, ring generalship, and effort among other fings in scoring a fight, three of which I would often have given to Maglinaggi (damage not in a million years of course). And Cotto REALLY went to sleep in the middle of the fight, and I mean rounds 4 through 9 he was on cruise control for some reason. When Cotto was smiling in his corner at one point (round ten I think) I figured he knew he had been coasting and his gameplan had been to let Maglinaggi tire and then knock his ass out. At this point I was still confident Cotto could stop Paulie, with Paulies visibility cut down and Cotto seemingly having more energy left. However, despite winning the final couple of rounds, but Cotto underestimated Maglinaggi and couldnt get rid of him.
I still believe Cotto won and believe he could beat Maglinaggi in an almost shut out now he would know how to handle him, it just seems he had the wrong gameplan, or was just too weigh drained.

Why should he? Just because a fight was close, doesnt mean there should be a rematch. If it was a crowd pleaser or controversial, those mandate rematches. Winning a close fight, especially a unanimous decision doesnt mean you should have to give the other fighter a rematch.

CC my friend, sorry if I sounded rude.See,we differ,Cotto did go to sleep but only for a couple of rounds and he was just blocking most of the shots coming his way..also, i dont think work rate is a factor if you are not landing, and Cotto was very very accurate,he did not land massive amounts but what he did...well you saw Paulie's face.As to your last point, you see the end, listen to everything Paulie's corner is telling him and tell me you still think it was close!
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
and Cotto smiling could mean anything bro...maybe he found it easy etc etc.

Why did Paulie look thew way he did after the 12th? because he knows he can do better. How's that :lickish:

That's just your interpretation and you saying Paulie would win a rematch is quite ridiculous, then again, must we go through all your infamous predictions based on absolutely nothing?? http://www.ufcfightnews.com/06-cotto.htm That article sums it up for me and I give you more links if you want.....
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
Malignaggi would win the rematch because he would do something different, Cotto wouldn't ;)
And Cotto said himself that he didn't expect the fight to be that hard. So your interpretation that he thought the fight was easy is much worse ;)

Now you are making things up and obvioulsy he would not say it was easy and he could mean it was tough as in Paulie was tough to KO.
