Re: Who wins prime Lewis v prime Tyson?
Ice i know he is'nt unbeatable because he has 6 defeats and yes lewis got caught by 2 lucky punches i would'nt say the Rahman one was that lucky he'd caught got just before he backed upto ropes. But my main point is neither McCall or Rahman were a patch on a prime in shape Tyson.

Come on i am fed up of all theses people raving about Tyson, Lennox Lewis was a far far superior boxer than Tyson ever was. I have seen every single Tyson fight (i have them on dvd), i admit they were exciting but this is only because he was beating the crap out of bums. As long as Lennox prepared and took this fight seriously he would win comfortably (the same as every other fight he took seriously, with the exception of the first Hollyfield fight where he was robbed)
Bollocks would he beat a PRIME Tyson comfortably. Maybe, Ice Cold should keep looking for some real debate!! ;) ;D
It took Lewis how many rounds to whip on a shell?! The '88 model Tyson was not willing to be whipped. He was perpetual motion, and his defence was equally his strength. Tyson would overwhelm him or at leas hit the jaw that lesser opponents were able to stop him with... ;)
When people debate about this subject they always say oh look how long it took Lewis firstly it was one sided beating who cares secondly he hurt his right hand and couldn't throw it for a couple of rounds they say that in documentary and lesser opponents gave Tyson trouble even in his prime Tillis for crying out loud who was only a journeyman and Tucker who was only decent i mean come on when people say about Tysons superb defense it makes me laugh it honestly does Tyson used to get hit as he was rushing in and if his opponents wern't so scared they would of took advantage of it.
This thread is about PRIME against PRIME. It took Lewis a long time to beat a shell. Tyson of a decade earlier would not fight like that. He would persist and hunt and take the rounds. Ofcourse Tyson had issues with rangy fighters. But he always beat them. Tillis was an early opponent. Tucker was more than a journeyman and was beaten easily by Tyson...
Tucker is a clear example of how PRIME Tyson would beat Lewis actually.

I didn't say they were but Lewis took them lightly he wouldn't take a prime Tyson lightly because he would realize the danger.

It is ?? i would think Tucker done the blueprint on how to beat Tyson he took rounds he just didn't do enough probably because fear was involved but Lewis was never scared when he entered the ring Tillis was a journeyman and forgetting the lucky punches Lewis got caught with this wasn't luck Tillis gave Tyson alot of trouble and Tyson won the title the same year Tyson said himself the knockdown saved him.
Re: Who wins prime Lewis v prime Tyson?
Lewis was never scared he was mate otherwise why would Frank Maloney say he always fights better when he's scared he was always more urgent when he fought scared e.g Golota,Grant second Rahman fight even Ruddock

Tyson lost against Douglas because he didnt train
He lost against Holyfield because he had 3 years rust
Thereafter he wasnt the same....
Lewis would be mauled by an '88 version of Tyson....

Tyson didn't have rust he cleaned out most of the division before he fought Holyfield if Holyfield would of lost people wouldn't be saying anything about Tyson being shot fact of matter is Holyfield would beat any version of Tyson and so would Lewis forgetting this bs about Tyson didn't train he would struggle against that version of Douglas prime or no prime that was first opponent that didn't fight scared and won he used jab to good affect and stayed away perfect style to beat Tyson only mistake he made was when he got stupid in 8th and left himself open other than that almost perfect fight for Douglas.

Lewis was not scared for good reason...
Tucker fought in Tysons prime. Lewis faced a shell. We are talking prime on prime!!
Lewis' show against Tyson will mean nothing to anyone...sensible...
Re: Who wins prime Lewis v prime Tyson?
Tyson did'nt train for Douglas had already beat him in 8th really and fact Tyson was on a lithium based drug for manic depression and at the time he were even a manic depressive lithium subdues you look how he walks about before the fight
Re: Who wins prime Lewis v prime Tyson?
Again when did i bring up about Lewis performance against Tyson ?? other people are bringing it up about how long it took Lewis to beat him Tucker wasn't much different when he faced Lewis that was one of Tuckers best performances but yet he got dropped twice something that Tyson couldn't do even if Tucker was slighty past it arguably that was one of Tuckers best performances.
