Re: Canelo vs Callum Smith on Dec 19th
Anyone giving Smith a chance was kidding themselves, he lost to John Ryder so he was never going to be able to beat Canelo.
Just proves what a wonderful fighter Floyd Mayweather really was to beat Canelo.

Just proves what a wonderful fighter Floyd Mayweather really was to beat barely break a sweat against Canelo.
Fixed it for ya. ;)
Truth is Floyd had numerous fights that were tougher for him than Canelo. He gave Canelo a boxing masterclass, shutting him out 12 rounds to none. Canelo had no business being in the ring against Floyd.
But yeah... Floyd was a wonderful fighter.

FTR Canelo was green when he faced Floyd. He also had to boil down to a stipulated weight never mind the injections in the hands and IV that Mayweather is allowed in Vegas.
Canelo only hope was having another CJ Ross.
Re: Canelo vs Callum Smith on Dec 19th
At post fight interview, someone asked about Canelo going to Cruiserweight.
A laugh and a smirk dispelled that notion.

Yes indeed Al. I watched Smith give away his height advantage by crouching and leaning in, allowing Canelo to dictate the distance that the fight was to be fought within, (taking away all his leverage) then his utter contempt for Smiths power. Alvarez did whatever he wanted to do in there, aided by a sadly inept showing by Smith who was just in survival mode after the 9th.
The size difference was comical at times, but it had no bearing at all. It was a man against a boy in there.
Stright afterwards, I watched Mayweather against Alvarez. Jesus, what a fighter Floyd was. Brilliant against an admittedly pre-roided to the gills Canelo. It's painfully obvious when you look at the changes in his physique!
Mayweather stood right in the pocket, like Don Curry used to do, countered Canelo until he was gun shy. Controlled the ring, astonishing reflexes and technique and superb fitness and stamina.

Great list of excuses. Now do Pacquiao
Re: Canelo vs Callum Smith on Dec 19th
what was Smith thinking? You cant win fights if you dont throw punches.
Re: Canelo vs Callum Smith on Dec 19th
Canelo is making Floyd look better, without doubt, however, he's clearly much improved since the Floyd fight, which obviously was a huge benefit for him. Apart from Golovkin no-one below 175 (Bivol, Beterbiev) looks a "danger." Saunders, Charlo, Plant, Benevidez are going the way of Callum.

And talking of those names.....
20 minutes into the video, this YouTuber nails it for me. The questions is asked.

Its a good well balanced video in all fairness but basically this is what happens when one man is worth so much more $$$ than anyone else.
They don't want to run the risk of fighting one of the others in the division because if they get beat they won't get the $$$ that comes with Canelo, simple as that really
