Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein proposed secretly recording conversations in the Oval Office with President Trump last year and discussed the possibility of Cabinet officials invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president, according to The New York Times.
The newspaper, citing people familiar with the matter, reported on Friday that Rosenstein made comments to other Justice Department officials in meetings in spring 2017 about secretly recording Trump after the president fired FBI Director James Comey in May.

Don't you think it's pretty pathetic that the best evidence the Trumpers can come up with to prove this deep state conspiracy is claims that some of the evidence used to get a FISA warrant reissued against a probable spy who had left the Trump campaign may have been manufactured by the FBI? I mean if they're the deep state why not just wiretap the actual Trump campaign, not somebody who had left it? Why reopen the Hillary email investigation the week before the election and announce there was no connection between the Trump campaign and Russia at the same time when they'd actually found connections between the Trump campaign and Russia? They're a comically incompetent deep state, aren't they?
Papadopoulos was entrapped into telling an Australian diplomat that he knew that Russia had loads of Hillary's emails? He was entrapped into accepting a ten thousand dollar payment from an Israeli agent. It's a global conspiracy Lyle!

"The president continues to project a rudimentary understanding of his authority and how government bureaucracy actually works," according to Bradley Moss, an attorney specializing in national security matters and the deputy executive director of the James Madison Project. "He effectively ordered the declassification of materials and then retracted it mere days later, deferring to the inspector general to handle the tasks, something the IG never does."
