I think both deduction's were warranted, Khan fouled and was warned numerous times. He was the one running and holding you can't win a fight that way.

Fight out of it instead of pushing out, would be a good option.
How? The guy comes in with his head down and they tie up and then the ref refuses to call a break.
I was very impressed by Peterson and I thought he deserved to win, but the ref has completely cheapened this victory.
Re: Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson - Saturday - fight/chat thread
Holy fuck. Amir is awful in this interview. Stupid, in denial and flat out rude to the area he is fighting in. Amir was the cleaner fighter? Hahahahahaha! Idiot. ;D

He was warned..............................The end.
I'm not sure if you're serious, he never received anything more than a cursory warning.
This was one of the worst ref jobs I have ever seen. I think Peterson deserves to win, but this is going to cause a stupid amount of controversy if he does get the nod.
How many times do you warn someone before taking a point? I mean I know it's not a foul that's called, but that doesn't make leading with the forearm any less illegal.
You stop the fight, explain to the fighter what he is doing wrong, and then tell him that you're going to take a point next that. That's how it works. You don't randomly yell shit at him while he's in the midst of trading punches.
I know Khan's your boy and everything, but Khan acknowledged to the ref that he understood the warning. He didn't complain when the ref took the point. And now the replays show clearly the Peterson was not leaning over when Khan elbow slapped Peterson.
Beer me.
Re: Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson - Saturday - fight/chat thread
Saw the interview. Khan sounds like a big wet baby in need of changing.

Roach's fighters don't tie up well on the inside. Roach's fighters don't know how to fight out of it. Roach's fighters don't know how to just stay in a phone booth and return fire.
HIs guys look like sitting ducks if you can get close.

Fuck off with that shit, I already said I thought Peterson deserved to win. All I'm saying is that the ref completely blew this fight and it's going to overshadow the fight itself.

The Ortiz fight was very close and could of gone either way.
I dunno bro IMO Ortiz got the job done, I thought he took the first 3 rounds plus it was a 10-7 round in the 3rd and he came back strong in the later rounds (a lot of the rounds between the 4th to the 8th were close) taking 3 of the last 4 rounds, and I felt at the end of the fight that the only reason that he didn't win it more dominantly was cause he let of the gas and let Peterson get back in, either way Khan should either get a rematch or move up to 147 and fight the winner of Berto/Ortiz II
Re: Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson - Saturday - fight/chat thread
FUCK YES!!!
Khan, what a fucking sore loser and classless piece of shit - Why would you disgrace yourself and insult the town you just fought in.
So glad he lost those belts - Every news article you seem to read is him giving his 2 pence about Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao and overlooking Peterson. Exactly what he deserved.

They have nothing against a good uppercut thrown from the inside. You get in close and you work them over. I didn't like the advice of the Peterson corner. Use the jab? No, crowd him and hit him everywhere you can. Let him spoil and let him be the architect of his own demise with the spoiling.

There was so many comings together which should have been broken up by the ref though. Khan had to push off because the referee wasn't calling any breaks. Shouting at Khan for the majority of the fight is only going to make things worse. Terrible refereeing performance. Astoundingly bad.
That aside, Khan showed where his own level is at. It's unlikely that he will ever be an elite fighter, so that will make the move up to 147 harder as the competition is stronger.
I thought Khan won, despite the deductions, but can't really argue either way. Close and exciting fight, which would have been better with a more competent referee.
Re: Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson - Saturday - fight/chat thread
Very humble Khan, that's why we love you ;D
Been arguing with my mates all weekend saying Peterson is no mug he got a draw with Ortiz after going down twice, despite what you hink of ortiz that's not bad going.
I missed the first 2 rounds tonight but i was expecting it to be a draw during the 12th allowing Khan to keep his belts. Peterson is a warrior, he had a couple of rounds where he was getting soundly outboxed but very rugged and had no quit in him. Khan done himself no favours with the point deductions but rules are rules say what you like about the ref but he is probably used to having it all his own way.
Khan looked ahead and paid the price, can't overlook anyone at this level.
