Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
The gnarled divisiveness on this forum is growing as we near Hatton/Pacquiao.That does not benefit anyone and it discredits two fine quality Champions and an even better forum & base of thought-out global fans.I can get the same effect if I were to angrily kick the litter box while my cat is in mid squate.....tons of high pitched screams and loose shite & litter flying everywhere :dunce:

If it is then he would be very very fit for this fight.
Team Pacquiao is focusing on strengthening Manny’s entire body -- upper body, legs and all parts of the midsection. This fight, PAC will really shock everybody at how strong he is... if they thought he was strong at 147, wow, at 140 he is lethal...;)
.
Im curious of whats Roachs Saddoboxers secret formula to defy physics and logic...
Lets see, Pac displays an excellent/impressive bodyfat composition as it is. even at 147, so I'm curios how he is going to lose 7 pounds of overall weight to make 140, but yet is strengthining multiple bodyparts which will result in more muscle development and mass..Something dosent add up right :headscratch:
WOW :o I guess nothing is out of limits and reality if your a Pac fan:rolleyes:

As far as I know, PAC weighed in only at 142 for his 147 Hoya fight and weighed 148 on fight night... 148 is his usual fight night weight in his last 3 fights at 147 (Hoya), 135 (Diaz) and 130 (JMM) divisions...
I think PAC can easily make 140 while still strengthening upper body, legs and all parts of the midsection... Trust me... ;)

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Boxing writer Michael Marley also thinks PAC might just dribble Hatton all over the ring canvass... Below is an excerpt from his article:
"You’re a Hugger if you dismiss the plucky Hatton as some unworthy fool who will be dribbled all over the ring canvas by Manny. That may happen but Hatton is not without weapons…"
;D

I dismiss (but not totally) the brave gutsy Hatton against PAC but I don't consider him as some unworthy fool... so I'm not really a hugger according to Marley's definition...;)
I do still believe that PAC will dribble Hatton all over the canvass...

PAC getting top notch sparring partners...
- Art Hovhannesyan
- Jorge Linares
- Urbano Antillon
- etc.
Anyone know who are the present sparring partners of Hatton??

It defies physics and logic dude... muscle weighs more than fat. Manny couldnt get anymore shredded than he already is, how do you advocate losing weight without losing muscle mass, in which you claim he will be strengthening more body part which will add more muscle weight.. Seriously man do you read half the stuff you post.... Makes no damn sense

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
dehydrate? lose every bit of body fluid? then rehydrate afterthe weigh in? thats what they do right?

Dude, PAC weigh-in at 142 for a 147 fight and that's without dieting, food restrictions and any "making the weight" activities... PAC will develop more muscle mass and still make the 140 lbs. limit... I still think PAC will not go through any dieting again... PAC will be well conditioned for this 140 fight...
It's Hatton whom I'm worried of not making 140 or will kill himself to make 140 come weigh-in time...;)

Nope... but maybe this time...
PAC for sure will have difficulty making 135 but 140 would be easy for PAC...

Maybe. However, there is absolutely no reason to think that will be the case. From all accounts he hasn't ballooned up in weight as badly as he's been prone to doing in the past, and he showed no difficulty in making 140 for his last two fights.

Your use of the period (.) confounds me...
Obviously Hatton will have a more difficult time making 140 because he's the naturally bigger man (I swear to God if you start talking about the length of Pac's arms it is fucking on). However, he's fought over 40 fights at that weight and, to the best of my knowledge, has never missed it once.
I've also heard people make the point that the very struggle to make 140 helps him in the ring because of the mental edge it gives him.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
I quote: "Hatton's pressure only works against weaker and slower fighters than he".......
Kostya Tszyu was weaker and slower?
Couldn't reisist the quip, no hard feelings, ;)
I've seen plenty of slower fighters beat quicker fighters before. Not only does Hatton have the proverbial puncher's chance, he's also got a good smothering style that could really stymie Pac a bit. It will be a head-to-head clash, (literally, too!! OUCH!!), and I wouldnt be a bit surprised to see this fight go to the scorecards early from a real bade slicing type of billy-goat unintentional butt.
I say Round 5 it goes to the cards and it's a DRAW!!!!;D

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Roach approach: Pacquiao going for Hatton's fragile chin
Manny Pacquiao will give it to Ricky Hatton flush on the chin.
That’s what trainer Freddie Roach wants. That’s what Pacquiao is going to do.
“We’re going after his chin. That’s the money shot,” said Roach as Pacquiao trained vigorously for his May 2 title fight against the British superstar at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao sparred last Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in Los Angeles, knocking out and busting the eye of an undefeated Armenian boxer on the first day of sparring at the Wild Card Gym.
In training for the Oscar dela Hoya last December, Pacquiao went for the body, forcing Roach to wear a three-inch thick body armor so his boxer won’t hold back on his punches.
Roach still wears the armor but said they’re focusing more on the head. They must have found a crack on Hatton’s chin, and they’re going for in a bid to put him out early on.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
IMO this is bad advice from Roach. If you want to beat a Hatton, you gotta fight like or somewhat like FM Jr... going straight for the chin is good for Hatton. This will increase the leverage of his shots, and it means Pac will be coming straight in.
Its gotta be a ploy to psyche out Hatton, saying such things like this. No way is Pac coming straight in. Ricky can tag him good like that.
But the headbutts will be there big time, take my word for it. This could go to the cards early.

PAC can target Hatton's chin when he attacks and he can target it too when Hatton is coming in ala PBF's checkhook... But IMO, PAC will use the straight left or hooks (both left and right) in cracking Hatton's chin...
.
-
Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
I'm not sure about who the winner will be but if PAC throws straight punches and moves after he executes, we are looking at cuts on Hatton. I like Hatton but the only way he can truly dominate throughout is if PAC stops going for the chin and goes for the body which would be foolish and he would play right into Hatton's hands. All in all it should be close for the first six rounds and then it is who wants it the most. PAC will be bringing some speed and his will. He's also got momentum from his last fight psychologically and PAC loves the limelight.

Your WAAAAY to confident in your man, Hatton might be past his best but at 140 he has never really looked like losing.

I been watching Hatton fights lately & always seeing the same attack movements from him. He always leans to his left when he attacks. After just 1 rd, I think Pac will time him already & will start hitting hatton with Lead straight left.
I don't know what Floyd sr can do to Hatton but I don't think he can add another inch to Hatton arms. Don't think he can make Hatton faster either. To beat Pac you need to have Speed, defensive skills, counter punching skills, and the CHIN to hold you up. Unfortunately Hatton has only speed but still way slower than what Pac is capable of.

I think you're not giving Hatton as much credit as he deserves. In all fairness pac man and hatton are two very familiar fighters, they both throw punches like crazy, they both hit hard and both can take a good whack.. only Hatton hits harder and Hatton has taken harder whacks. Seriously.. the only advantage Manny has going for him in his fight is his speed.. and even that might not prove useful if Hatton can neutralise it like he's done to many other fighters.
As for Hattons defensive skills... he doesn't get hit too often, he's a little vulnerable to the straights I will admit but if Floyd Snr can get his head movement going again he will be much better prepared.
Honestly, I just wish people would stop writing one of the boxers off before the fight, the main reason the pac fans seem to be getting a bad rep on this forum is because of their blatant biased posts which do nothing but hail pac man as a god. I may be a Hatton fan boy, but at least i'm not afraid to admit his bad points and praise his opponents for their good points.

I'm not writing hatton off, I just don't see him being effective with Pac's style. Hatton can catch Pac with one big one. But if you look at the history of both fighters, Pac has improved a lot & gets stronger. Hatton didn't show a big improvement in his game lately.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
Man this is a giant thread on whether one fighter will bust another fighter up... I think the angst from the zillion other Pac threads has just accumulated into this big mother of a thread..
Personally the chin is a good idea, Straight lefts through Hattons guard all night.. If Pac is moving in and out all night and turning him I see Pac being in control for about 60% to 70% of the fight... If Hatton is up I think the percentage will be the same, just controlling the fight by that extra 10% or 20% until something budges..

Hatton's defense has slightly improved and Pacquiao still gets hit, Hatton still has his stamina, is the naturally stronger guy at 140 and honestly the only advantage i give to Pacquiao is speed and he has better straight punches, that said its almost a 50/50 fight

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
When I saw Hatton in his first interview since the fight was arranged I thought he had no chance...I thought he looked terribly out of shape. But now watching him develop he seems really psyched. Weight is key and I think Hatton can edge it

The experts Put DLH a 2;1 Favorite over Pac. I predicted that fight as a Domination by Pac. And i end up exactly right.
This Pac-Hatton is no 50-50 fight. Pac-PBf is the 50-50 fight. Pac-Jmm will be 55-45 fight. Pac hatton is a 70-30 fight in favor of Pac. Hatton is not in the same level as Pac, JMm & PBF.

I always think that if a boxer just throw some punches then he has some chances of winning... I don't totally write off a boxer unlike some posters here who says "so and so has no chance at all" at some match-ups they perceived as mismatches... I didn't write off Hatton, he has a slim chance of winning...
When this fight was finally signed, it's my own personal opinion that PAC will probably inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton based on PAC's record of inflicting the worst beating on some boxing legends... At this point, I consider Hatton not a boxing legend (yet)... That opinion is also based on the big advantage of PAC in the speed department and big advantage in the reach department...

The TS has a valid arguement. But I voted "no".

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
NOTE: This particular post is just for fun... ;)
Conspiracy Theory #69 on why PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton:
Floyd Jr. is rumored to make a comeback starting in July and there's also some reports that Floyd Jr. wants his father, Floyd Sr. to be his trainer again... It's no secret that PBF is looking for the biggest money fight out there and that's against the present P4P #1 boxer, Manny Pacquiao...
PAC has a May 2 fight against Hatton whom incidentally trained by Floyd Sr. right now... A Hatton win over PAC would derail the plan of PBF to fight PAC in a future super mega huge event fight... Floyd Sr. being the father and future trainer of PBF might help his son achieve his plans. Floyd Sr. might give Hatton a totally wrong gameplan in his approach to the PAC fight... This ensure that Hatton's chances of upsetting PAC is close to nil...
Just a conspiracy theory tho... ;D
