He got a massive round of applause.
Booed in cheered out. Savvy.
Plus he's going out with Hayden Panettiere. What's not to be envious about?
Both brothers have always been excellent ambassadors for the sport and for Ukraine, if only they were a little more exciting to watch!

Vitali was never boring, huge strong guy with an iron chin. Tough tough cookie.

Povetkin is one classic example.
Lennox Lewis recovered from his losses to be an OK boxer, Joe Louis recovered from the loss to Schmelling to do alright for himself.
The clinching is a part of his strategy. OK let's look at Wlad vs Povetkin....Wlad wanted Povetkin at distance, Povetkin wanted quite the opposite, Wlad uses the jab to keep Povetkin at distance, Povetkin slips the jab to get on the inside. Once on the inside it's Povetkin's job to put the work in.....what are Wlad's options when that happens? A) Tie up, the ref breaks you and you're reset B ) Throw punches while Povetkin is in his best range .......hmmmm, which would be the BEST choice.....hmmmmm....guess it'll remain a mystery :-X
See here's where we part ways. Ok... you're a Wlad fan, and I'm not.
So let's say I criticize Wlad and you bring up the Sam Peter fights. As I've done in the past, I'll say... "Gee Lyle, you're right. In the Sam Peter fights Wlad acquitted himself quite well." See? That's me grudgingly admitting to Wlad doing something right and fan-friendly.
Then I bring up the Povetkin fight and you say, well hell..... it's quoted above. Your other answers to Wlad-Povetkin criticism has been along the lines of... "Well if the ref didn't call it....." when you know damn well the ref did a shitty job of controlling what turned out to be a shitty fight. Because let's be clear about one thing. What you call Wlad "tying up" is actually...........
POUNCING ON POVETKIN'S BACK NON-STOP FOR 12 ROUNDS.
Wlad literally threw himself onto Povetkin's back, ref be damned, more times than I care to remember. Somewhere along the line Wlad must've decided that... "Damn the torpedoes, I'm jumping on Povetkin's back."
But back on point.
You can be the World's Biggest Wlad Fan, and still admit to one or two lousy fights by Wlad.
Your membership card will not revoked.

Watched all this on sky news which basically is advertising the fight at every opportunity. The whole channel is a walking advertisement for the box office ppv event.

I never bought into the Klitschko "Brothers" either, two very different animals. It's unfair to knock a man that is 64-4 who was "world" champion for ten years but I'll always believe Vitali would have battered Wlad and think there's a big asterisk mark next to his reign.
I never found Vitali boring.

Anyway, what opportunity didn't he take? He fought in America loads of times against the best they had to offer.
I am thinking Bryant Jennings (after his impressive win against Pulev), which was the first time he fought back in the US since his display against Sultan Ibragimov in 2008. Both displays were very boring.

Joshua walks to the press conference with the white stripes blaring... if only they made him do that on fight night instead of that urban/grime/dibba,dibba,dabba whatever the fuck it's called noise

Every funking SKY employee must have been told to attend the press conference, there's literally hundreds of them, how the fuck is it still running
Re: Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko - 29/4/17 Wembley Stadium
Wlad has a lolly stick with exact prediction of what will happen saturday night. It will be auctioned off for charity afterwards along with his smashed in half gum shield to prove he's not nostradamus
