Did anyone actually think this fight wasn't going to be a domination by Pacquiao?

Give Margarito credit for not turtling up and at least trying to press. But Margarito isn't the Margarito of years ago, and hasn't been relevant since Shane Mosley knocked him out. Meaningless filler fight. Grats to Pacquiao for the win, but Margarito never had a chance. As Roach said, we saw his last two fights.

This will bring into question everything that Margarito has accomplished and will help solidify everything Pacquaio has accomplished. Mayweather is in "dollars and sense" mode and will likely stay retired so as not to ponder if a loss is worth any amount of money they "throw" his way to face Pacquaio. I'm sure he was hoping Margarito would damage Pacquaio so he could pull the "look what Margarito did, imagine what I would do" argument, but unfortunately for him, won't happen tonight.

And the Jones one too while were at it.

Not a fan of marg at all and like to see him lose but holy shit his corner is a bunch of cruel mofos, as is the ref. I mean it's fucked up when a fighter has to decide shit I don't want to permanently f this guy up so I'm just going to coast the last few minutes. I just don't get how anyone could see the fight as any other way than Margarito taking a beating and getting dominated. He didn't even deserve the fight and was irrelevant. Margarito showed heart to take all that punishment, but Pacquiao was going to dominate him and he did it easily. Arum is a smart man, he isn't going to match up Pacquiao against someone that actually stands a chance. Margarito's style, and the way he's looked lately was a setup for Pacquiao to look spectacular. And he did the job. But that's about it, he beat Margarito. Margarito hasn't been relevant since Shane beat him. Filler fight before the mayweather showdown if that ever happens. So credit is due to Pacquiao, but it wasn't like we didn't expect him to dominate Margarito at this point.

Yeah Cordoba got a flash knockdown on him, many close rounds. Rigondeaux thought he was in the olympics and danced around without doing much for the last six rounds. Lot's of booing and stuff.

Most people had Karass ahead or a draw, I had jones ahead, he went ape shiit in the 2nd unloading power shots for about half the round, then he gassed. But he closed strong.

People are generally judged on their actions, and Margarito's speak for themselves. Is anyone perfect? No, but most of us don't willingly endanger the lives of others for personal gain and his actions in 24/7 are pretty damning and can be in no way explained by editing or any other like tricks.

He clearly hurt Pacquiao a few times, but he never seemed in serious trouble. I missed the interview though.

I've never really seen what other people see in Jones so that doesn't surprise me.

I'd say I think Rigondeaux was overrated too but I'm afraid of the repercussions involved if Taeth were to see me saying that.

At this point would you really put it past Arum? He just sold a fight between Pacquiao and Margarito for crying out loud. Expect until the Mayweather fight happens which will probably be next, that Pacquiao's only fights will be Arum promoted fighters.

I would hope they mean a rematch with Margarito so Miguel can properly avenge THAT loss. A rematch with Pacquiao is not something anybody would wish to see.

The only real fights of interest in Pacquiao's mind would be the winner of Alexander vs Bradley. Pacquiao can obviously make 140. and Bradley has already called him out. But I'm sure if Pacquiao fights again and it isn't Mayweather, it will be another Arum fighter.

Making fun of someone with Parkinsons and loading hand wraps isn't enough to judge Tony on? He did not take the piss out of Roach's Parkinsons disease. The guy who actually made the original video has already explained that Margarito was emphasising that Roach is quite scary with the statements that he makes. The video has been cut and edited to show an entirely different thing.

Also we have no hard evidence that Margarito knew about his wraps. His trainer has taken all responsibility. Even then I do agree that Margarito should share some of the blame and he has served his so called sentence for it.

He has gone the distance with the best and shown he CAN put a dent in him. This also makes me question whether the gloves have been loaded in previous fights. Anyone that thinks anyone at 140 is a smaller man than Pacquiao would be stupid. He has to eat to make 144. 140 is probably his perfect weight class where he'd actually have to cut weight.

Alexander nor Bradley are smaller then him. There's no way Pacquiao fights at 140 and people say he was fighting smaller men.

i cant understand why pac let marg trap him on the ropes.... i can hear buboy, pacs coach to stop doing that but pac still continued to lay his back on the ropes. he got a bit slower when he got caught. good thing he still has the speed to negate margs rally.


margs coach was asked if he ever considered stopping the fight cause marg was obviously hurt. and was a bit dissapointed by his answer, i mean well yeah mexican heart and all. but the coach has a clearer mind than the fighter and he should take care of his fighter. on the 11th he asked marg once if he was okay and i think marg didnt replied he shouldve stopped it already.

As for the video....that's bullshit Margarito and Rios knew what they were doing....it's all part of selling a fight isn't that what people usually say?

As a BOXER Antonio Margarito will never be redeemed in my eyes....as a person tonight and vs Shane Mosley he did his time, but as a BOXER I do not forgive him and each time he steps in that ring I'll be for whoever is against him.

His former trainer can take all the blame he wants to, but I know this, I know if someone wrapped my hands I could tell whether or not the wraps were loaded (and perhaps there needs to be an ESPN study on whether or not fighters can tell if their wraps are loaded or not for future cases) and I think just like Panama Lewis and Luis Resto both the trainer and the fighter knew the deal.

Curious, why does Seldon deserve mention in that context?

Not in shock, kind of sobering up but what should have happened, happened. Pacquiao is a better fighter then Margarito, when he started with his patented movement in round 3 or 4 it was ovah, Margarito was never going to win. NO props to Margarito who took a beating he deserved and still got paid to much for it. Hell yeah I'm still bitter. I don't want to see anyone hurt in the ring but Margarito is a very very hard guy to feel sorry for.

Agreed...& I don't know if all that shit was going down in the dressing room & all their "on camera antics" (talking shit & makin fun of Roach) would lead one to believe that Margarito just loves to be hated...either that...or he's as STUPID as Steward says they are.

At the end of the day...that was a great fight...I don't care what anyone says...but let's hope that Pac moves back down the ladder...even though that might seem like underacheiving...take on the prominent belt holders of 140 if you can't get Floyd & hang it up a KING!!
