A few years ago I played drums... for like 3 years 14-16/17 or something... played gigs in pubs when I was 14... ;D
He just places fairly basic stuff... but quickly... and he has no groove ;)

I think that has more to do with the Metalica Structure. . I actually saw him at a NAM Show and he was terrific. His band mates in Metalica have him play that basic shit. they freak out when he does something cool .Quote:

Honestly, if he wasn't in Metalica no one would of heard of him. There are literally 1000s of better drummers out there in lesser known bands that no body has heard of ;)

Listen to that Lars solo I posted, it's embarasing, from about 1:2 his bass drum work made me cry and the groove he plays afterwords is SHITE.
Chad Smith is Killer ! very good drummer. yeah Lars is str8 forward with no imagination in that clip . He was more diverse at the NAMM show. playing some killer Jazz off beat stuff .
Lars sucks. If you want some musical drumming, my fave is Steve Gadd. I love Mozambique.
Mike Portnoy From Dream Theatre is hands down one of the best drummers in the world....
