Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Sorry to disrupt the one word post rhythm, but thought I'd mention Luke Campbell getting the win. The Italian was a brawler who came in to disrupt and put Campbell off his game. Campbell boxed okay, and eventually won 11-9.
That means that Team GB's boxers are undefeated with a 100% victory ratio so far, and Anthony Joshua has the honour of being backed by @Fenster to win at 11.15 tonight. So the smart money has to be on Savon.

Missed it
Glad he's through though.
Will make sure I catch Joshua later.
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
I hate to say it, but to have Joshua winning the first and the second rounds must be down to home advantage, Savon looks to be the quality boxer here. Joshua needs to play it smart and avoid the right.

To me it looks like the Fenster curse did for Joshua, Savon dominated the third, and I reckon his third round should overturn the two point deficit.
Oooooh, Anthony Joshua is a very lucky boy. It was a fairly close fight, but I think Savon will feel harshly treated there.

He probably needs to improve another 20% for the next fight, and a tight guard will be vital. The Chinese guy landed a big KO punch in his fight.
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Close.
If I were Cuban I would be moaning.
I think that was the gold medal match there *touch wood*
Joshua couldn't cope with the movement and looked sluggish, much more ponderous than usual but this will hopefully shake off some rust.
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Not even the Fenster curse can beat ridiculous home bias in boxing. I thought the Cuban was "robbed" (not complaining though)
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Wasn't able to see it... but when even the British folks are saying the Cuban was robbed... it must've been bad. It's too bad, really... that Olympic boxing always carries this stigma with it. It's not just London... it was Beijing before that, and Athens before that... and will be Rio in 2016. Hell... it's not even just boxing. Any sport that includes judging suffers from the same shit, although probably not as bad as boxing. I wish the problem could be fixed, but if it hasn't been fixed so far... it probably won't be.
