Bring me back the old school supermans
Watched 'The Dead' earlier. As far as zombie flicks it honestly was one of the more original I've seen. Based in Africa and a slow pace and totally sparse casts but not bad at all. Ending was real!
I saw "This is the End" with my girlfriend yesterday, and I can honestly say it was the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. It had the whole theater laughing and was a good time.
'The Master'....lord that was odd
To explain...I thought it was supposed to be this big old send up of Scientology but it turned out to be less that, (although have no doubts there were parts of that) and a story more focused on the PTSD and psychosis of Joaquin Phoenix's character who is an full blown alcoholic and completely focused on anything and everything sexual...so much so that he humps a mound of sand that has been shaped into the form of a woman.....he humps it to completion and everyone is sitting around like "Well.......yeah did he just? I guess he did....in front of everyone....special". As for his alcoholism, he mixes up "moonshine" out of paint thinner....his character drinks actual paint thinner!!!
That said the movie was quite well acted, the body language of Joaquin Phoenix was incredible, part Forrest Gump part Travis Bickel. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was as always phenomenal.
Im going to go watch Elysium tonight and im so excited !!
Elysium mothafuckas!!
Elysium got some mixed reviews but I watched it last night and it blew me away!! People are complaining about the lack of character development and while I do agree, this was supposed to be a sc-fi action movie and it definitely did the job. The action was mind boggling, probably the best ive seen since District 9.. What really intrigued me was the fact that everything in that movie is happening in this world today. We are getting there..
Elysium is the best movie ive seen this year..
Also, if you guys are into those buddy cop movies, watch HARSH TIMES with Christian Bale.. It's one of Bales overlooked films but it's a very fuckin good movie that ive watched over 40 times..
I watched 'Friday The 13th: Part 3'...which being released in the 1980's was of course released in 3D. The 3D effects without the glasses and on a regular tv were very funny. You can tell the director was playing with the 3D a lot just from the angles of the shots and the special effects. It is the first movie where Jason dons his trademark goalie mask and it's one of the more ridiculous movies when it comes to the "is the villain really dead?" bullshit, you hang him, you smack him in the forehead with an axe, you stab him, and each time he keeps coming back :shakehead:
But yeah it's getting to be that time of year for the bad horror movies :D
I love the Friday series.
Upcoming horror " You are next " looks pretty good. It has that old school slasher feel to it..

The Conjouring. meh Amityville
Really enjoyed Alan Partridge: Alpha Pappa ;D
I watched 'Sleepaway Camp' .....and just when I thought 'The Master' was odd as hell, this movie blew me away. Every little plot twist I was all "No way, they can't do that, no way.....NO WAY!!!!" if you're looking for a campy horror flick then look no further than this! The Camp owner is a poor man's Bert Sugar, cigar and all. The head counselor wears super tight shorts....oh and yeah he's a dude. And all the kids in the movie are Yankees (meaning they are from the Northeastern part of the US) and they are all of Italian decent so it's like a whole horde of John Travolta's.....and the ending....my God the ending....:cwm31:
Ben Hur: The Tale of the Christ. Very good movie.
'Cabin In The Woods' again...."TEQUILA IS MY LADY!!!!"
Watched Smurfs 2 kids loved it. Anyone tell it is August and I have had to take the kids to the cinema. Glad to be back to work tomorrow. :)
I saw The New World with Bale and Collin Ferrell and i wasted two hrs of my life.
Rock n Rolla got some good reviews but I stopped watching it like 30 minutes into the movie.
