This used to be my all-time fave movie (including Hollywood movies). Both John Woo and CYF exploding into superstardom after this movie. #2's gun fights were better but the story paled in comparison to #1. Woo had CYF watch Alain Delon in Le Samourai and the rest is history!

Not a big war movie or Tom Hanks fan or Spielberg fan (per se), but I liked Saving Private Ryan. Admittedly I didn't watch some of the classics, and the only other 2 war movies that comes to mind that i liked was Platoon and Dirty Dozen (not really a war movie).

Rewatched Dragon the Bruce Lee Story with Jason Scott Lee last night
forgot how good and how bad it was ... there were moments that Jason looked good doing the moves: on the wooden dummy/mook yan jong - somewhere in middle of the movie after he opens up his school IIRC and like the last scene, he's on top of the wall looking down at the enter the dragon extras and he shadowfights ... those were good, closer to 'real jeet kune do'... then the rest of the fights were acrobatics which would be good if it was a jackie chan movie

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Having recently read a book about Wilde, I watched the film Wilde last week. I have watched it several times and have always enjoyed it. I think Jude Law was a really good actor when he had hair. He is wonderfully petulant and horrid as Bosie, who was a spoiled little paedo rent boy addict. The film shows the rise and fall as any great tragedy should be, but as with any man of talent, Oscar was the architect of his own demise, and if only he could have used his guile would not have suffered as he did. He was incredibly smart, but also flirting with danger and was incredibly careless. With hindsight it is easy to frown at the sorry mess, but really Wilde should never have put himself in the position he did. You can't smoke opium with rent boys, carry on with a rich mans son, AND mock the aristocracy all at once. One should be cast aside whilst carrying on with all the others.

Seven psychopaths .
Not too bad kept me interested, probably watch it again if it came up one day. 7or 8/10
Watched Dirty rotten scoundrels too that is one well done movie, a classic clever comedy.

Eyes wide shut. What a strange movie. Kubrick was a genius in his way. I don't think I've seen one of his movies that didn't leave me baffled a bit. The movie is worth watching just to get a look at Nicole Kidmans ass, damn she has a fine ass.

is this the sequel to Red? with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and her name is on the tip of my tongue, but don't reall now.
if so, i want to see Red, but i'm afraid it was changed so much from the comics it was based on. I may not like it.

I found Red very silly, the sequel will be just as bad.
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I tried to watch Inglourious Basterds, but had to give up after 45 minutes as it seemed to be part German, part French and part English. I can only assume that it should have subtitles or something, but I was getting a bit annoyed at having to make constant linguistic guesses and so just gave up.
I also watched the original Die Hard for the first time in a long time and really enjoyed it. Alan Rickman was excellent as Hans. I really like my sinister, intelligent, evil characters with a bit of added camp. Bruce Willis was good too, but seemingly less camp and altogether not so evil.
