Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
First of all let me say that we have the best members of any forum.
Reading this thread just backed up my opinion on this.
Intelligent, funny... & some potentially homosexual, but still hands down the best. ;D
When Oscar showed me he could blast out an illegal version of my boy Vargas, my opinion on him changed.
Oscar is, has been, & will always be a technition in the ring.
But when he needs to, he can thug it up with the best of them.
The pizza eating, chain smoking, formerly pink haired Mayorga didn't stand a chance. ;)

I was still amused at the hugging & embracing shat & Mayorga bowing to Oscar & all that shat...Oscar should slipped him an upper quick fast & a hurry.

Where are you?
I just thought maybe we should talk...I still haven't lined up my date with Oscar...but he did smoke your boy like a cheap cigar.
In the end...my bias prediction was right. TKO...& he punished Mayorga long & hard & he surprised even me with his amazing god like abilities that you brought to my attention...abilities that I have never noticed in all my years as an Oscar fan.
I applaude you...now speaking of dates...& biased humans...Mayorga might need his wounds licked after getting outclassed last night...I know a certain someone by the name of gbrandon that might need to polish up on his spit swapping skills. ;)
Seriously though...your boy done good...he blocked almost every shot that Oscar threw at him with his face. I'm just so relieved that I won't have to worry about explaining to my daughter why demons won't emerge from the ground and start roaming earth, heaven will not fall, and it won't be the end of the world.
Now I can just tell her that it's a brand new day, enjoy the sunshine, & all is right in the world because once again...that punching bag got the fwockin stuffin beat out of.
Heh heh heh.

I hate to break it to ya...that was the best performance of Oscar's last 5 or 6 years.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Was Oscar rejuvenated and that was why he was so sharp or was Mayorga a perfect opponent? I think a little of both, not to take any credit away cause he was surprisingly very sharp considering the layoff but I think they picked Mayorga for a reason, just like Tito did.
Stilll a very good performance and he's still got the physical abilities. I thought it was a great idea for Oscar to stand his ground and make Mayorga back up, Mayorga can only fight coming forward, he's no good moving backwards.
I don't have a hangover :dontknow:

A little bit of both...but I dont want to hear anyone start that shat of Mayorga was weak oppostitionj because last week Mayorga was very close to being a world beater as fas as Oscar was conserned.
Oscar was on point all night long.

Yep. Oscar did a lot less moving last night & more toe to toe trading which showed that he an flip flop back and forth to the Old Oscaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I don't think Mayorga was a weak opponent, although I couldn't find a reason to think he would win. But Oscar exceeded my expectations, looked better than I thought he would, and stopped him which I didn't think he would do, I just thought he would win a convincing UD.

yep he looked good, He beat the hell out of my man Mayorga... You guys think Mayorga will commit suicide or retire?
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Just saw the fight. a few things I'd like to say
1) Oscar looked spectacular because of who he had in front of him. Look at the kind of boxer Oscar is, and look at Mayorga who throws wide shots, has no defense, leaves his chin open, and never puts his hands up. Oscar fought guys in his pro debut that had better form then Mayorga does. Was Oscar supposed to look anything "other" then spectacular.
2) Trinidad. Don't be fooled by also the Trinidad factor, look at how Trinidad looked against Mayorga, and then when he actually fought someone in Winky Wright he was destroyed very easily. This is because Mayorga's style helps you look spectacular and 6 years younger, but when you're at that level, you are supposed to look spectacular against a guy like that.
3) Don't overhype Oscar in this fight, he looked the way he was supposed to because of Mayorga's style and who he had in front of him, but despite all that I am still worried that Mayorga was able to win rounds from Oscar, and that uppercut in the 3rd has me worried if he ever fought an accurate puncher like a Mayweather. This is a fight to look at what Oscar didn't do, because given Mayorga's style, there was only one thing he was going to do.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
ah last night was vintage golden boy ;D Mayorga may have been perfect opposition for oscar but Oscar showed that he still got the heart and the chin for one more mega fight. i think PBF v ODLH will be a pritty awsome fight but i cant see oscar winning it. Floyds hand speed and movement will be too much for Oscar and his 33 years of age will show. i can see a PBF UD or late stoppage cause Oscar proved last night hes got a chin.
