That was dumb as dumb could be ::** Yea he had a game plan of simple 1-2's and he never deviated from that. No one at 160 could touch that kid, he can box and jab as well as busting you up
You tell em JT :coolclick: for having faith in Pavlik like me.
These jokers will disappear, you'd have to be stupid to think Pavlik is a flash in the pan, he's not perfect but at 160lbs I don't think he can be touched. Scary power, the Hearns likenesses are warranted in my opinion.
I always said Pavlik was good i had seen his fight with Bronco and few of his other fights i knew he would beat Taylor and your right no one will beat him at Middleweight he will crush em all like ants.
I want to see him fight winner of Calzaghe vs Kessler.
I don't because Pavlik would lose.
Pavlik can fight on the outside with the best of them at a distance. But Kessler or Calzaghe are bigger and better distance fighters then him and he wouldn't outbox either of them, so his only bail would be his power, but I don't think he could stop Kessler or Calzaghe.
I'd like a rematch with Taylor.
Or I want to see him fight the Middleweight everyone has seemed to forget, Felix Sturm!!!
I would give Pavlik more of a chance than your giving him vs Calzaghe or Kessler.
Sturm ?? Pavlik will crush him inside of 6 rounds.
You're serious? Sturm is a difficult style match up for Pavlik. How would Pavlik crush him inside of 6 rounds.
Next 3 fights for Pavlik I'd like before Calzaghe or Kessler are these
Taylor
Sturm
Abraham
If he beats all three then he should fight Kessler(calzaghe will be retired)
And no, I wouldn't give him that much of a chance against Calzaghe or Kessler. If he ever has to deal with someone bigger and stronger then him he'll have trouble.
Pavlik said that Taylor hurt him because he's a natural Middleweight who hit like a mule right?
How would he fare against two super middleweights with a better distance game and higher workrate?
Thats why I wouldn't want him to fight Calzaghe or Kessler
Sturm's to accomplished to get caught in Pavlik's game.
Abraham would be the toughest test for Pavlik outside of Taylor in a rematch.
Pavlik's disposed of the dangerman in Miranda, he's blown Taylor the fwock out, now he needs a break or an easy shot...he deserves it.
Maj is dead on point & deserves two clicks for that one. Here's the obligatory one! :coolclick:

Win, lose, or draw we all got what we wanted. The best of Taylor & the best of Pavlik...& that my friends was incredible. No matter who you were rootin for...that was one hell of a fight. Pavlik has arrived & he brought Taylor back...look for the rematch to be rougher than this...if that's at all possible.
In closing...I want to say that wev'e got some of the greatest posters here & one of the best community's net wide.
Applaude yourselves...ya done good. Nighty nigty...I'm once again gonna rewind this match & marvel at the swing.
Cheers bitches.
Re: The coveted return of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round Taylor vs Pavlik!!!
Hmmm,if a 38 year Castellijo can STOP Sturm,I think Pavlik could do the same. Sure,Sturm would start off better, but Kelly's power and activity will get to you at some point.
Kelly would annihilate Abraham.. Arthurs game is to stand there and block, counter, back up. His arms would hurt taking those power shots from Kelly and Kelly's bodyshots would wear him down. He would stun Kelly with his quick counters and excellent power but again,I don't envisage anyone at 160 standing in front of Kelly, trading and getting the better of him.
I think Kelly should face the winner of JC Kessler after an easy match. It would be a monstrous fight, the best of 160 v best of 168(unquestionably both would be the best). I'd take JC over Pavlik, the Kessler fight would be closer but Kess jab and sense of distance and timing could make it hard for Pavlik to land.
I give total credit to Kelly and I love watching him fight, but I'm not going to say he's invincible,he's not. He would clean up at 160 though, not sure at 168.

Sturm was dealing with his mother's death & beat Castej in teh rematch handly. Sturm could jog as he did against Masoe after tasting the power of Pavlik & maybe MAYBE rule with the jab.

No way. Abraham has a better defense & chin. Toughest fight out there for Kelly, IWHO. BY the way :coolclick:

Nope. Conquer Taylor in a rematch & then work on 160lbs first.

He could be the next Miranda...but back track & you'll see just the opposite. The kid's got pedigree.

An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry Gamo, Wacko can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours.
Re: The coveted return of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round Taylor vs Pavlik!!!
The rematch was close with Castellijo and I still wasnt' impressed by Sturm. I totally forgot about his mothers death :( :'( Still though,he has not looked anywhere near as good since imo and I think it'll take more than a jab to keep Pavlik away.
Totally disagree with the Abraham issue. Arthur was busted up by Miranda,Kelly throws more and possibly harder than Miranda. Arthur is very stationary and Kelly would eat him up.Totally. Either Pavlik's power or Pavliks' activity levels would beat him. Arthur also lets his opoonent control the match too much,he even did so v Ghevor. If he lets Kelly control the fight,he's getting koed. And I think Miranda was robbed.
Nope. Conquer Taylor in a rematch & then work on 160lbs first.
I think you've forgotten my man. There was a rematch lause for Pavlik Taylor BUT it was at 168. So if Kelly moved up,there would be no reason to move down.He could fight JT/the winner of the Kess fight BUT he needs one easy fight first. Kelly has had too many tough fights as of late.
And I TOTALLY agree,Kelly has proven himself to EVERYONE. A great fighter,T-R-E-M-E-N-D-O-U-S- heart and power and a good chin too. Great fighter and P4P top 10 annnnnd CONTENDER FOR fighter of the year and FOTY imo. Awesome stuff.
It's great to be discussing with you again my man,CC. :lickish:

I think he was just really upset with himself. He handled it well, though - I think Taylor might be a more dangerous opponent as a result of this loss. I respect the hell out of him for being man enough to fight real fighters, a category that he himself fits in. That was a hell of a fight on both fighters' parts.

Don't mean to nitpick, but the rematch clause is 166, not 168.
Re: The coveted return of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round Taylor vs Pavlik!!!
I just finished watching the fight. Fight of the year for sure. I was impressed by both fighters ability to take a punch, and holy shit is JT fast. I was a bit surprised at the score cards, but this was a hard fight to score I think. Anyways, great win for Pavlik, but I think JT will be back as long as this fight didn't ruin his chin.
Steve Smoger is the best ref in the buisness.
Julie Lederman is the worst judge I've seen in a long time.
Re: The coveted return of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round Taylor vs Pavlik!!!
What a fight...
1st I gotta say congrats to Pavlik for the title.
I just wanted to mention something I'm not sure if it's been brought up or not but was I the only one wishing that Pavlik would get sparked out in that 2nd round for acting like a fucken fool? I mean Pavlik showed his inexperience there when he started sticking out his toungue and trying to mock Taylor, he got away with it the 1st time but then the 2nd time as he had began to make his taunt at Taylor...... BAM!! lights out he got cracked and hurt and dropped. For the fight I was rooting for Pavlik I was hoping he'd spark out Taylor but in that 2nd round when he started fucking around it got me pissed off I mean what the fuck are you doing? Your in the single most important fight of your whole career and your up there acting like an idiot fucking around. This level of fighters at this stages are no longer the Zertuches, Zunigas or Mc Karts this is World Class Championship level. You've come along all this way to start sticking your fucking toungue out?
I was telling my friends I said if Pavlik looses this fight by decision it will all ride on that one round, he would have no one to blame but himself for doing something so stupid that almost cost him the fight. I bet you his whole career flashed before his eyes when he went down.
Other then that I think Pavlik showed great posie, he overcame the mistake/s he made in that 2nd round and fought his way through it.
In regards to all these Pavlik vs. __________________ <---- Fill in the name all I can say is WOW! whoever it is better be ready.
I think Pavlik sparks out both Sturm & AAbraham with ease. I'm big on AA but as I've mentioned it time and time again. I just see his skill level the same I don't see anything there as far as improvements/adjustments it's always the same thing over and over punch, wait, and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait some more, punch and wait and wait.....
With Sturm I think Sturm would start off well like Taylor did win a few rounds in the begining but eventually I think Pavlik sparks his ass out to. As honest as I can be with you guys I pretty much Am convinced that he can spark out anyone in the Middleweight div. (Anyone whos willing to fight not someone whos coming in to ballroom dance)
Whoever he fights DEAR GOD! PLEASE! do not let temptation get the best of Team Pavlik keep them away from BORING ASS! hug and punch Hopkins.
Also keep them away from Winky & Spinks. Lead them towards people who wan't to really fight.

Yes agreed i am Pavlik fan and was annoyed when he taunted Taylor and he left himself wide open but im glad that happened so he has learnt his lesson now and he also had to use survival instincts for the first time in his career so it was a good learning experience and he passed with flying colours.
I was telling my friends I said if Pavlik looses this fight by decision it will all ride on that one round, he would have no one to blame but himself for doing something so stupid that almost cost him the fight. I bet you his whole career flashed before his eyes when he went down.

I knew this fight would never go the distance i picked Pavlik by 10th round TKO but i knew it would never go distance so i wasn't really worried about Pavlik getting cheated in a decision.
I agree he was very patient had a good defence blocked alot of Taylor's punches.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pavlik take on winner of Calzaghe vs Kessler but if not then taking out Abraham would be the next step and as for Sturm like i said earlier in the thread he wouldn't last 6 rounds with Pavlik.
Spinks, Hopkins, Winky, he should definetly avoid i agree there only make him look bad i would avoid them at all costs if i was Pavlik.
Also Taylor impressed me he was so fired up boxed great and done alot better than i expected all i gotta say is great fight props to both fighters for an awesome fight and now we finally have Middleweight champion who is exciting.
