Re: Pacquiao vs. Mosley - Fight Night talk!
Pacquiao by a dominant UD, pretty predictable, so much for Manny stopping Shane. they looked like they were too good of friends to hurt each other, boring fucking fight.

That "sportsmanship" was pathetic. It was basically Mosley begging Pacquiao not to hurt him.

Mosley used the Barrera 2 model and threw about 7 right hands all night. He circled effectively, but showed that he cannot throw more than a 2 punch combo without running in and holding. Manny Pac merely did what he had to do, he showed us nothing new.
What this has also showed is that Manny Pac is nothing more than an opportunist when it comes to matchmaking. A cheater followed by a former great who hasn't won in a number of years.
I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way. Few of us believed that this fight should have been made and the boos in the crowd confirmed why.
It was a very poor fight.
I thought MAB done better than Mosley though, i had him winning 3 rounds if i remember rightly.
But yea poor effort from Mosley, he actually touched Pacquiao's gloves more than he hit him LOL.

Mosley was on the backfoot constantly against Pacquiao, not taking any risks. It's hard to look good against a good veteran fighter, who's just looking to survive.
It was the same in the rematch with MAB, it's hard too look good against a fighter who's not willing to commit.
And in all honesty Shane Mosley was lucky to win 1 round.
it's about hitting and trying not to get hit yourself not a street brawl which is why so many people seem to like pac because he often makes it his fight - a brawl.
Re: Pacquiao vs. Mosley - Fight Night talk!
For Godssake, just say you want to fight Mayweather. PLease.

I also think Pac was genuinely worried that Mosley might still have handspeed and the timing to counter him with power. I'm not so sure that was ever there though after seeing that. Margarito landed far more on Pac than Shane did. It really did seem like Barrera/Pac 2. Some close rounds, but no serious attempt to show anything more than an ability to see through the 12.

I agree on the part if he went after him sooner with more intention he would have gotten him out of there...He keeps stressing his leg so not sure what that is about...
Re: Pacquiao vs. Mosley - Fight Night talk!
Mosley did have success with the armpit up push in the clinch, he should have done that more.
Re: Pacquiao vs. Mosley - Fight Night talk!
I gaven't read the thread and don't know what you guys thought but here's what I saw:
1. An overmatched Shane realized he was over matched.
2. Shane stopped being able to let his hands go 18 months ago
3. Manny's worst performance since before the Diaz fight. Lousy balance, on one foot way to often, wild right hand, fighting in a straight line. It was the old Manny.
4. Manny's will and desire remain undiminished and startling
My big question is the following. Did Manny overtrain (a risk in older fighters) or has Father Time really begun to make an impact on him?
Re: Pacquiao vs. Mosley - Fight Night talk!
What is the proper scoring for round 10, during which Mosely scored a KD but Pac won the round?
Winner normally gets 10 so 10-9 Pac, but the KD makes it 9-9?

Quite awful except for a lively final round. He looked hesitant, slow and lacking in ideas. It was far closer than it should have been. He needs to stay busy and find some output again.
I think this is who Kelly is. He's a strong guy without a clue trained by a guy without a clue.

I think he overtrained and got tight. I THINK that's what he was talking about.

Barrera did. Unless you are Margarito it seems that Pac has that mental edge from the go at these weights. Nobody outside of Marquez is willing to box him smartly with conviction.
On the way up people thought they could trade with him, now it's gone the other way and it's a case of not being willing to throw your own punches whatsoever. Well, not quite true Margarito gave it a fair shot, he just didn't have the skills.

I appreciate good defensive boxing Missy, one of my favourite fighters is Pernell Whitaker.
But Mosley didn't even try and win, and as other's have said where was the fire ? he kept touching Pacquiao's gloves basically saying lets slow down a minute WTF.
This is supposed to be a championship fight, the old time greats like Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, certainly wouldn't of laid down like that whether they won or lost they would give it 100 percent.

No. Winner of the round MUST get ten points. So if you thought Manny won the round and then you give Shane an extra point it is 10-10.
The only time the winner of a round can get less than ten points is a deduction for a foul.
