I don't like any fighter enough to rather see them win an abortion than lose a boxing match, or the other way round. That goes for the majority of people here I imagine, the ones you accuse of being "haters" all of a sudden. Anyone who didn't have a dog named Wladimir on saturday HATED what they watched, it's really that simple.
I never said the fight was "edge of your seat exciting" but that's not the point of boxing...it's NICE when a fight is exciting but it isn't a requirement. Being able to win an ugly fight is a necessity for a good champion, just ask Bernard Hopkins. I called people out on their hypocrisy for loving up on Hatton, Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson et al who constantly and consistently got away with worse fouls but it's ok because for some reason when those guys fouled it was acceptable or it wasn't called by the referee. Roberto Duran won a title by punching Ken Buchannan square in the dick...where's the constant outrage for that?
I suppose this insolent response will earn me another neg rep from you with another whiny reason behind it...those are soo terribly traumatic
Hopkins, Hatton or Duran never fouled as blatantly or frequently as Wlad did the other night, I don't think that's realistically an argument anyone else would make. Dirty fights happen, but fouling as a primary tactic to wear out your opponent is quite different and in that case was unwatchable. Wlad pushed Povetkins head down over a 100 times and was never warned for it, but your argument is that if the ref didn't call a foul, it wasn't one. I suppose if next week we see a guy rip his opponents to shreds throwing big elbows every round and the ref doesn't do his job, you'd make the same case? And not that it matters but I only neg rep people for making childish personal attacks unprovoked, which you do on the topic of Wladimir quite often.

3:01 ....right in the dick.....how much more blatant do you want?
Tyson-Savarese, Tyson-Botha
Hopkin-Allen in their matches
You can say the fight was boring but don't fucking tell me that nobody else fouled like that.

Hadn't seen that in ages or from that angle, really did look like a nut shot so that's just a poor call. But it's still an individual foul, if a much worse one than Wlads. It was the rate at which Wlad held, leaned on or pushed Povetkin which made it so shit, the ref never took any control of what became an excuse for a fight. Guys do a lot worse things now and then, but I've never seen a boxer so repeatedly foul in a championship fight. Of course as you love to point out nothing was being called, but I still can't help blame Wlad for stinking it out when he didn't have to. He could have easily KO'ed Povetkin imo, if he just bothered to actually put anything together or jab more instead of initiating that crap.
