Kov was hurt with a right hand but no need to stop it. Should have let it carry on.
Because Kovalev wasn't defending himself. He was bent over with his hands down. He had no choice if the fighter can't defend himself
I assume ref thought kovalevs previous complaints/attempts for rest due to the "low blows" were not legitimate and was in real trouble from the body shots and so stopped, seems pretty quick to me though but ward had him in a lot of trouble there :SQuote:

Stopped by blatant low blows. What a disgrace by Weeks. Normally a great ref. Kovalev can also blame himself for constantly complaining rather than retaliate.
I've never seen a fight stopped off of body shots like that. Especially when it wasn't a shutout
It was a bosting right hand that Ward kopped him with but fuck me that was a weak stoppage, I don't understand why you would do that.
Kovalev will be fucking fuming by that regardless of being hurt or not.
