Floyds hand speed and movement will be too much for Oscar and his 33 years of age will show. i can see a PBF UD or late stoppage cause Oscar proved last night hes got a chin.
FIZUCK DLH vs. PBF!! I WANT TO SEE PBF MARGARITO!!! ANTONIO HAS BEEN FIGHTING AND WAITING FOR HIS SHOT AND OSCAR COMES WALTZING IN AND GETS IT!! >:mad Oscar shouldn't get his shot just cause of that. Margarito deserves his shot!!! he deserves it!!!!! How's a guy thats been off for a year get a shot at pbf!?! If Oscar wants it so bad why can't he go down to 147 and fight Margarito then! I am sick and tired of Oscar getting these because of his name when other fighters work hard to get their shot and they don't get it because for one night oscar looks good. FIZUCK ODLH vs. PBF! And all us Margarito fans need to agree on that!
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
I like Margarito but I don't mind seeing a PBF-ODLH fight.
I said from the start that I wanted to see if ODLH had anything left before I decided on a PBF fight, I don't disagree that Mayorga was a bit custom made for ODLH, but Oscar showed that he's definitely not shot, he's still got some pretty good physical abilities so a PBF fight has become more interesting. And lets face it, its most likely gonna happen.
ODLH, Hatton, Margarito, I won't have any real complaints if PBF fights any of those guys.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
I want to see Margarito in the mix,and I thought it was weird that Oscar mentioned him...maybe he is thinking about Tony....what a fight that would be for the Mexican/latinos and remember that they used to spar together! Anyway,I think Floyd Oscar will most likely happen and then I think Floyd will have no excuse NOT to fight Tony,in the meantime,I guess Tony has to wait :'(
Also,Oscar may choose to retire, sooooo Floyd can't avoid fighting Tony then aaaaand,Oscar mentioning Margarito alone will get alot of casual fans attention....who is this Margarito that our Golden Boy Oscar speaks of in such high regard?! That will only help to raise Tony's profile even further...
I'd soooo laugh if Oscar chose to fight Tony,to pass the torch onto a felow Mexican much the same way Chavez did to him.....One can dream....

1) Oscar looked spectacular because of who he had in front of him. Look at the kind of boxer Oscar is, and look at Mayorga who throws wide shots, has no defense, leaves his chin open, and never puts his hands up. Oscar fought guys in his pro debut that had better form then Mayorga does. Was Oscar supposed to look anything "other" then spectacular.
I agree...but only to a certain point. Anyone who watched Oscar vs Hopkins knows that the above statement holds a little water...but not enough to sink a ship. Oscar looked good against Beranrd for 5 or 6 rounds & we all know how great Hopkins was...so again...Oscar looked great regardless & many forget that Oscar is a great regardless.

This is because Mayorga's style helps you look spectacular and 6 years younger, but when you're at that level, you are supposed to look spectacular against a guy like that.
Agreed...but Trinidad can't fight boxers period...nor can Mayorga. Oscar does fine against other boxers.

This is a fight to look at what Oscar didn't do, because given Mayorga's style, there was only one thing he was going to do.
I agree...don't overhype Oscar...but don't try to undermind what he did either.
While I loathe Mayorga...he is very capable when he applies himself...he beat the shit out of Lewis & Forrest & many others.
I don't mean to sound so bitter here Angel Eyes...but come fwock on...so what...Mayorga landed an uppercut that shook Oscar. Mayweather is more accurate sure...but he doesnt hit harder than Mayorga & OScar took it well...hell take it well from Mayweather if they fight...& now I say IF because of this right here...Oscar mentioned Margarito & he mentioned Wright.
Beating Wright would enen the score everywhere for Oscar & he's be beating the man that beat the two men that beat him.
People are only one day later breaking down what Oscar didnt do...come one...he's been out of the ring for a looooooooong time & he came back after a KO loss...OScar did fine.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
I wanna see Oscar vs Floyd now more than ever because Oscar fought beautifully las tnight & he's still got part of his desire left to be a champion.

Haha, I respectfully disagree ;) Tito Trinidad also massacared the wild man but... I guess I'll debate it later. I'm tired as all hell haha
sorry...totally disagree...Mayroga foufht a stupid fight againtst ATito...he tried to fhgith agianswt OScar...& Oscar dominated him...sorry aout he typing...iM fwocked!
Yes, He did fight a stupid fight against Tito and Oscar looked great but...it's Ricardo Mayorga. He wasn't even top 50 P4P imo so DLH beating him doesn't put him anywhere close to being top 10 P4P. I mean, this is his first fight in 20 months, and this is the first fight in his last 4 he has won (well, second if you count the Sturm robbery). This was an impressive victory, but let's not blow it out of proportion. It was a fight he was expected to win and it was Ricardo Mayorga. I mean, it's not like he beat a legend in his prime.

:-\
Sure it would be an interesting matchup but what about Antonio Margarito? No way has anyone earned a matchup with Floyd more then him. Hatton is the only person I wouldn't complain if Floyd bypassed Tony for.

I'm not by anymeans blowing it out of proportion babe...I just was shocked at what he did & how.
As far as P4P...Oscar's not worthy...as muc as I love him...he just aint.
If you count the Sturm robbery? If you count the Sturm robbery?
Look who you talkin to!!! You know I count that shat!!! I loves Sturm.
The thing is this...people...yourself...me...others that are now tearing this fight apart were not in the beginning saying that Oscar could win this fight. There was much hesitenece on picking Oscar even 80% by many of our forum goers. Many were unsure.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Oscar Floyd would be a great fight but i think we need to see more of Oscar before we can comment on how good he is. when Tito came back he looked sharp against Mayorga but got completely outclaased by Wright. Oscar didn't have to chase Mayorga around like he would Floyd and he didnt have to work his A** of like he would if he fought Winky. The Mayorga fight was like fighting a heavybag with arms. im Curious to see if he can fight 12 rounds where he has to work his a88 off for the full 3 minutes of the round. Margarito would probibly be the easiest option for Oscar as Margarito hasnt really impressed me in any of his fights (against a majority of B class fighters) i think the hype machine has been working over time on that guy. Everyone is saying people are ducking Tony but i think its more of a case that he just aint worth one of the top guys time as hes not got a huge following and wouldnt do much for there career. I hope DLH dont fight Tony as we deserve to see DLH go out against a higher profile name since its the last time we are going to see him and it will leave a question in everybodys mine of how good he was when he came back as he only fought a guy tailor made for him and if he fights Magarito and wins they will say Margarito was an over rated guy who's never fought anybody.
I think the Floyd fight is probibly Oscars no 1 priority as i doubt PBF would have left Arum and turned down $8 mill if it wasn't a sure thing.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
One thing that really surprised me about this fight was Oscar's ability to hurt and put away Mayorga. I didnt think that he had that left in him. Then again Mayorga pissed him off pretty good and often before the fight, so I think Oscar was wanting to do that so bad.
I think the question with a PBF/Oscar fight would be if ODLH could keep it up for the full 12 rounds. If he can then he will have a chance. But that is the thing thou, trying to keep up with Floyd for 12 is a tough task.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
ill be viewing the fight in about an hour
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga

Agreed.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
As bad defensively as Mayorga is. Stewart made a good point about Oscar's punches looking spectacular but not many of them landing clean. Against mayweather who is GREAT defensively you have to wonder if he'd even hit him at all like that.
