Brook tweeted a few hours ago that he's out of hospital and needs an opera ton next week
GGG's wild swinging and straight bulldoggin' through Brook's punches raised an eye brow for me at first. When Kell boxed beautifully in the 2nd round I admit I was wondering what was going on. Even with those two things, it wasn't fazing nor turning GGG back. Hat's off for Brook, one tough mofo. I agree the corner saved him from being KO'd but he had the cojones to get in there with GGG, a lot more than what you can say about other middleweight "champions".
I'm gonna be optimistic, and hope the WBO and WBA issue mandatory title defenses for Jacob's and Saunders. Pathetic that titleholders have to be forced by the organizations to fight other champions. GGG wants another fight in December, so gonna cross my fingers.
What Brook showed if there is a good boxer puncher out there at the weight.
GGG was hit a lot he has little head movement a good boxer with a big punch would make it interesting.
But there are no contender's out there I feel that can push GGG.
Kell was the best boxer GGG has faced so far .
The blue print GGG can be outboxed imagine if Brook was a full hard hitting middle weight, Kell is a very good fighter he is tough most expected him to be blown away in a round. Brook deserves respect he showed some balls.
The boo boy's are idiots a broken eye socket can be a career ending injury, or you could end up being blind hopefully everything will go okay good luck with his surgery.
No way should he have been up!
1 round is all he should have had!
He was also not "still landing" he was getting hit with everything, wasnt really defending himself properly and not fighting back or even trying to survive by holding. You cant let the ref see you get get and not fight back. You have to defend yourself at all times.
What happened is what most thought would happen. Brooks speed would keep him in the fight till the mid rounds but Golovkin strength and power would take over.
If Ingle or the ref hadn't stopped it, Golovkin was about to.
Iv also heard Hearn say that if Brook was a middle he would have won. No! Brooks orbital bone was broken because he doesn't move his head. Being a middle wouldn't have helped him move his head. He also didn't either didn't have the stamina to keep up the pace he tried to set, or he tried to put too much on his punches. Golovkin takes a good shot, he regularly sparred Kovalev for 18 months and Kovalev says he has a very hard head, never seen him hurt or dropped.
Hearn also said he was winning on the cards. HTF was that happening?
I've just watched the fight back, I think I got a little taken in by the athmosphere and by Brooks effort.
Even when Brook landed his biggest shots they just bounced of GGG, he wasn't hurt once, he was walking through Brooks punches and loading up on both the head and body of Brook, Kell took the shots at the start but by the 5th it was a case of job done, watching it back I don't actually think it was that bad of a stoppage, Brook had absolutely nothing to give.
First thing GGG said 'he's not a middleweight' couldn't agree more
Kell say's 'I didn't feel his power...in the second rd he fractured my eye socket'
Kell made himself sound like a bit of a fool at the end, trying to make out that he was completely in control and was hurting GGG but not getting hurt himself, come on Kell, you can't blame that on solely on your eye, you was getting beat up.
Brook was hurt in the first round (forgot what punch it was) and GGG just backed away.
Brook then was moaning about the eye from the 2nd round.
i think Brook's accent makes him sound like a dick.
So Mr Denilson, can we get your thoughts on the fight?
I'm guessing Brook was winning the fight easy, he was play acting in the 5th round, it was an illigal headbutt that caused the fractured eye socket (therefore GGG should have been disqualified) and Dominic Ingle stopped the fight because he is a massive racist and didn't want the black man to win.
Am I right?
I dont think his head movement is as bad as you make out. If you look back, you'll see how many of those wide arc hooks of GGG missed the target, and quite a few other shots. I also think the eye injury didn't help him avoid shots.
Just like Canelo v Khan, it doesn't matter who was ahead on points because it was never going the distance and the naturally bigger guy was always going to get on top.
The stoppage was a tad early, but I'm not the one who is in there with a beast and with a fractured eye socket. An early finish was inevitable , so no major problem there.
Hearn's comments are a bit ridiculous really. If Granny had balls , we'd call her Grandad!
Junior hasn't got the skill to avoid GGG and GGG would walk through Junior. Either It would be a mini war while it lasted , with GGG KO'ing him, or Junior would try to be a bit cagey and because he doesn't have the skill set of Brook, he would still get KTFO. Just a case of how long Jr. Could take it as we aren't sure of his chin (please don't say he's inherited his Dad's chin, because we couldn't possibly know that.)
I have to say the 2nd round must be the best round of Brook's career all things considered. Absolutely fucking brilliant.
Jr could have the beating of Golovkin!
Jr is strong and has tons of stamina. Golovkin is patient and lets the opponent work then comes back. Id be very interested to see Eubank real off those big combinations and how Golovkin deals with it.
Jr does move his head quite a lot actually. More so his upper body. Been a few times in his fights he lets the opponent fire off shots while he slips them all showing off.
Brook comes from the ingle gym and head movement or being elusive is one of the things their fighters are known for. I think whats happened with Brook is hes been able to boil down to welter and enjoys such a strength advantage that hes fallen in love with his strength. That doesnt translate when he fights at a more natural weight though and if he had used more of the ingles style maybe hed have heard the final bell.
