Oh damn they are going to show Chapman. Nice, Stacy Goodson fighter wondering if he's the real deal. Probably won't see with Hicks in front of him though
Oh damn I didn't know Hicks was undefeated.

Chapman thinks he's slick with the left hand all the way down and I'm not sure he's slick enough
Yup. I'm not very impressed :-\Quote:

Two things about Green, and this isn't even totally cause of the scare
1)should he maybe go to either coast, or Detroit and work with better sparring partners and trainers. Maybe they can fly guys in but Oklahoma's not a hotbed of boxing
2)Why jump into a Calzaghe fight? He needs to continue his level of progression, that's a whale of a step up
Good straight right hand but he really looks terrible when people are coming in. He would be exploited against someone who threw straight punches coming in imo.
Definitely, if Hicks would straighten up the right, which is probably not gonna happen, Chapman would be wide open for thatQuote:

But he was ROCKED!! And came back to win, seen prospects not getting up for less. I'm with you OumaFan I wasn't sure if he was going to get up.Quote:

I was surprised Green got up at all! You could tell he was still a bit wobbly but had it under control. If that had been a higher caliber fighter in there he would have been KO'd. He was lucky McCrary didnt have the pop to get him out of there.
I would question him taking a fight against Joe. I dont think he is ready for that.
You stick your chin out on a regular basis. Eventually somebody is going to crack it.
Yep, saw the whole fight. Allan Green explained the whole incident quite well in the post fight interview. He got caught with a big left hook, was seriously stunned and took several other huge punches before going down. A lesser man would have been finished right there but Green got back his composure, survived the round and kept landing his jab and left hook to the body. Green's left hook is a tremendous punch and he has a full range of weapons. He's not that fast on his feet though, certainly not as fast as another man of similar build, Michael Nunn.
You know what's funny? Before Teddy Atlas and Joe Tessitore went over and briefly checked in with Michael Moorer I said to myself "wow. This Allen Green looks sort of like a cross between a right-handed Michael Moorer (when he was a light heavy) and Michael Nunn." Actually, style-wise he's more like Moorer. Probably few readers remember Moorer when he was a light heavy. He was 1 of the best I ever saw, a tall, power-punching southpaw with a stalking, jabbing and short-punching style. Moorer should have stayed at light heavy, since he could never quite take the punches of the bigger, stronger heavies. In my opinion, with the right discipline, Moorer could have been the greatest light heavy of all time if he had kept his weight in check, a faster, more athletic version of Bob Foster.
Even a guy off the street can KO a pro boxer if he catches him just right with a good shot. Talent? McCrary is not even in the same ball park. Heart? They both showed some. Green got caught with his hands down thinking he was the hunter and he got hunted. McCrary must pack a pretty powerful punch. Green said in the interview that he was afraid that might happen tonight. Apparently from sparring with McCrary, Green knew something that we didnt, the isnt the best boxer but hes got some power with that sneaky left hook.

I'd be down on him if he got up and didn't change his gameplan or went in like other prospects like they had to prove something and try to knock the opponent out. Green did different. He got up was visually dissapointed in himself, brought his hands up and took care of business and didn't rush anything. Thats maturity and I was impressed by that. He also gave Teddy a really good answer when Teddy atlas asked him "had he bullrushed you would you have survived" and unlike Litzau who said "Hell yea I would survive I don't care about getting knocked down." Green simply said "I would have tied him up." very good answer, he is much more mature then a 19 fight fighter is supposed to be. that impressed me
I agree starr. Green learned something in this fight. When you deviate from the gameplan, this is what can happen. Didnt take green long to figure out after his close call that his corner man really did know what he was talking about. I heard his corner after the 3rd round was over tell him, get your hands up and work you way in with the jab and get back to the gameplan!
