I'm sure the fight would be big, but I really don't think Hatton is capable of drawing 2 million ppv buys just in this country. It's not like Mayweathers some huge name to the average guy who could draw astrononical numbers.
Nope, Floyd plays it safe with his fighting style, and what you just said is the end result of that. As good as Floyd is, unlike Ali/Roy Jones/SRL he's not bigger than the sport...
Exactly when was Roy Jones seen as being bigger than the sport ???
Proof? Ask any person walking down the street who Floyd Mayweather is, you'll get alot of Floyd Whos?
Ask them about Ali/SRL/Roy Jones and you won't get a Roy Who :). Same goes for Tyson, Foreman, Oscar.
People who have no idea what boxing is about can tell ya who they are, because they aren't just boxers, they're superstars. Of course Floyd's personality is a little too dry to be big outside the sport which isn't his fault (trying to qoute Ali and sounding like a pre-schooler doesn't help that either). Just calling it how I see it :(
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
i always said, PBF deserves the big bucks like 23million pay day with Oscar first. then he can clean up the rest. give him his big mother pay day then he'll take care of the hattons, margaritos, cottos, etc.

Dude, I don't know what third world country you're living in but here in the States, everyone knows Floyd Mayweather. If you say Floyd Mayweather, even people who don't watch boxing know he's a boxer. He is not a mega box office ppv draw, but neither was Roy. And I find it hilarious that you mention Roy in the same breath as Ali and Leonard as if he's even on the same planet of box office appeal as either of them. Roy had to go and fight a heavyweight in order to get over 500,000 ppv buys, whereas Oscar on average draws way higher than that. Sorry to be the one to break it to you but the biggest drawing fighters in history can be counted on one hand and neither Roy nor Floyd are among them.
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
That Floyd is one smart mofo.

its pretty close to the amount of euroz or pounds or roubles or whatever the F*** is used for currency in europe these days, the $ is a little less so maybee at that point like 2 million less then euromoney

I willing to pay $500 to see the PBF vs HATTON fight on PPV I'm willing to pay $1000 to see it LIVE.
That is the Only Fight I'm Willing to see at the Moment and also the Cotto vs Castillo.

would u use your free ringside seats to see it?
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
Free ringside tickets for Pretty Boy and Hatton? I'd say yeah for the fight,DEFINITELY but for the chicas,bro,Cotto-Castillo is the fight to go to. Watch any Cotto fights and the HOTTEST latina honeys are in the crowd!! I remember in the Torres fight, the camera went around the arena for about 20 seconds and I counted about 10 HOT ladies!
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
23 million is a lot. Yes.
But 23 Million + 8 Million + 2 Million on PPV Percentages = 33 Million
33 Million makes 23 Million look small!
Do your math. Floyd can fight both fights (Margarito & Oscar). But Mayweather likes to fight at least once a year, at this point in his career. And fights, at most twice a year.
Whatever the case, Mayweather won't fight Margarito. Unless he's forced to. Oscar's not even a done deal, you guys act like it is!
Mayweather knows that he'll get a beating in the Margarito fight! ;) Why else, would he AVOID him. That's right, I said it. AVOID!!!
Mayweather only looks out for number one. Himself. He doesn't care for boxing.
If he actually cared for the sport, he'd fight someone in their prime, who actually posed a threat. Margarito and Hatton are perfect examples.
This isn't new either. Mayweather's been ducking difficult fights for over three years. At 140 and 147 he has yet to face some legit player. Gatti was a paper champion! Judah too! C'mon Mayweather fans, even after 4 years your never gonna get the clue that your fighter will never fight a tough fight, UNLESS he is forced to! ;)

Also this 23 million dollar number is coming from what? ??? A contract? Helll nooo! ;D
This is just a number thrown out by some dude. heheh
If you ask me, Oscar has Floyd by the ballz, because he's making Floyd do things by just rumor and talk. Think about it. Floyd just turned down a guaranteed 8 million dollar payday, for just a hope to fight Oscar.
And who knows, Oscar can fight Trinidad, who's talking comeback again, or fight Vargas should he win. Or give Quartey or anybody to make millions of dollars. Oscar doesn't need Floyd, rather Floyd needs Oscar. And it's showing, the way Floyd has turned down a GREAT payday and doing silly things like depending on a fight that isn't even that possible.
Eight Million is more money than Floyd has made his entire career, for a fight. And he turned down a Guaranteed payday!!!! Just to pray Oscar doesn't get knocked out, OR actually wants to fight him.
Bad business move. If he had the guts, Floyd would have killed two birds in one year, and got Margarito over with, get the 8 MILLION!!!!! .... then try to offer Oscar a deal.
Floyd is just trying to make easy money, at fight fan's expense. Hmmmmm... and the Roy Jones Jr. Jr. debate continues. :detective:
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
Excellent points bro....again! The only thing I say in Floyd's favour is that I can't say he is running until after the ODLH fight, because if his hand is ok to sign that contract, after that fight,it should be ok to sign the Margarito contract, second like you said, that number is just a random number made up and thirdly,if after alllll of this he does not fight Tony, even the biggest Floyd fanboy cannot deny he ran and it will always haunt him.
I love Oscar but this 1 time,I soooooo hope he loses, then we'll see what Floyd does.

Man.....It's already started...silly silly...Now Judah was a paper champ and PBF still hasn't beaten anybody at WW...man you're silly...Judah did have three of the four belts at WW just ealier this year right..and he did get them by beating the man who also had all of them (spinks) Who did margarito beat to get his belt? Futhermore Judah and mayweather both came from smaller weights and still ended up with significant WW belts before margarito....he been there for 10years and still doesn't have a real belt nor has he beaten anybody...
PBF is already in the HOF...and he wants to fight oscar for 23 million...then fight hatton...he can....I'm so tired of people overhyping this Tony guy...yeah he's the best bartender from tiajuanna...but on the level of PBF, Hatton, i think not...because even Hatton has at least beat two guys worth mentioning in KT and Phillips....
So floyd hasn't had a tough fight in 3 years...that more so speaks to his ability than any thing else...where as almost every other tony fight looks like he might get his 5th loss...

Even if the calculations are off he'd still make money fighting oscar..and what's margarito gonna do? Nothing besides what he's been doing which is beating up nobodies....and floyd will decide to fight him when he gets ready...so actually PBF has tony by the balls and the wallet because he can get paid without floyd...If margarito were smart he'd hurry and beat somebody with a name so he could get more of the possible money between him and floyd...and then floyd will only get about six or seven....
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
Lookie Lou.
IF there's anyone that wants to see Margarito vs. Mayweather. You had better hope and root for Mayorga to beat DLH :)

I agree with you man. I really think once Oscar gets by Mayorga he's gonna wanna lure Tito out of retirement so he can fight him for his farewell fight.
That sounds more likely but if PBF can get the $23 million, my hats off to him.
Re: Pretty Boy to earn $23 million...
Floyd was GUARANTEED 8 Million. And I'll Guarantee you, he won't make up to 23 million.
It took Oscar, to go past his prime, to make that kind of money. Oscar!!! The Golden Goose.
It won't generate that kind of money.
Floyd just wants easy money. When he could have gotten Guaranteed Money. In real life, and in a dirty business such as Boxing... YOU ALWAYS GO FOR LARGE AMOUNTS OF GUARANTEED MONEY. You don't go for money that people, dirty people, promise you'll make. Because it won't be 23 million. Oscar was barely paid 15 million, to fight the biggest non-heavyweight bout ever, in Trinidad fight, when he was in his prime. And you guys think Mayweather will break 23 million now! :D haha
He won't. DON'T EVER FALL FOR TALK!!! ESPECIALLY IN BOXING. NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU READ IT IN WRITING AND THE FINE PRINT. If he was a risky business man, and a smart one at that, he'd take the Margarito money, WIN, then go for Oscar and make MORE money just based on his win with Margarito.
Especially if your supposed to beat a fighter like Margarito.
