Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
It would be interesting if Floyd can dance rings around Margarito the whole night. Tony is a monster. If he gets Floyd hurt and cornered its not gonna be a pretty night for the Pretty Boy.
I still think that Floyd gets past Margarito if he can, erm, keep his head.

Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
margarito is not good enough in my opinion to face floyd yet. has he beaten anyone that were decent and could get him a shot. i dont think so. he dont deserve it just now. maybe later in his career when he has proved himslef

You say that bro but he has been unbeaten at this weight for most of his career and has been ducked by the champs like Judah,Mayorga, and now Baldo. He has fought good fighter slike Diaz,Martinez,Gomez who hadnt lost for YEARS,Cintron who is about to become IBF champ 6 heads, these are all decent names and as good as anyone Judah,Corley,Mitchell etc have faced yet they get a shot at Floyd. See where I'm coming from.?
Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
Everyone seems to be ducking Margarito, because he is a high risk. He wouldn't be as big as a draw as many other opponents. I on the other hand would love to see this fight. I am split 50/50.
Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
I have changed my mind completely,I don't think PBF will ever fight Tony and I will say he is ducking if he does not fight Tony after the Oscar fight..why you ask? Before,I thought he wanted Tony to fight more names but I just saw in an interview on boxingtalk.com that Floyd says even if he beats Williams, who cares?!?! What the Fuck!!!! He is ducking,I'm sure of it especially as Williams is just as dangerous as anyone Floyd has fought for years!!!
Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
mayweather by decision. too fast and too skilled for margarito

Actually ya. I had 50/50 but I would have to say 80/20 Floyd. I think that 20% is why Floyd won't take the fight. He wants to be 90/10 or 100/0.
Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
Mayweather doesnt seem to want to fight Margarito but its doubtful that is because he as Margarito put it, "fears him". From what I've seen Antonio Margarito likes to come straight forward and maul his opponent with big punches that often you can see him set for. I havent seen a lot of Margarito, just what I've seen of him on Youtube, but I did notice things like that. If he continually sets himself to wing those big bombs and explosive powerful combinations that he is known for, Mayweather will see it and beat him to the punch, jabbing him to death or moving away and counterattacking. I believe a fighter with speed will beat a fighter with power if the other factors are relatively equal. The combined speed and skill of Floyd Mayweather Jr would easily allow him to beat Margarito to the punch as he came in seeking to get set and unload with his power shots. On the flip side, if he tries to box the greatest pound for pound boxer in the sport today, Margarito would likely open up a whole other can of worms that he didnt need to. I cant see Tony winning this fight, but who knows? With his power, Floyd could not afford to make even one error. This is one of the bouts i really want to see.

The thing is,the most iporatant aspect of your rationale is you really want to see the fight. This isnt' another one of those Floyd fights where you know he is DEFINITELY going to win. Also what happened to Floyd getting $10 mill for Baldo as opposed to the $8mill PLUS he was offered to fight Tony? In reality,he only got $8mill for fighting Baldo,so again, another inidcator,of his for whatever reason not wanting to fight Margarito. Also, remember,Margarito can bang to the body(which no one does against Floyd)can jab well and is bigger than anyone Floyd has fought. He is relenetless and although Floyd will counter him alot,Tony will have SOME success due to his style. He is a pure pressure fighter, much like Castillo who "beat" Floyd the first time. Tony is also good at cutting off the ring. I tell you bro,Margarito would give PBF hell and he knows it.

Re: Mayweather vs. Margarito
I wanted Floyd to fight Antonio also since it would have been a tougher fight than Baldomir, but honestly Floyd is fighting Oscar. That is a better fight for FLoyd and more money and if he wins he gets alot of credit. And he will beat Oscar. Oscar cannot deal with the speed of Floyd. Oscar has to use his size advantage and jab... and try and catch Floyd when FLoyd comes in, but Floyd does not really walk in carelessly. Might be a very boring fight.. The only thing which I think could happen is Floyd testing Oscar's chin and I am not too sure Oscar can take alot. But for Antonio, saying Floyd is ducking him now is a waste of time. He should move on .FLoyd is moving on to bigger and better. Alot of guys do that, they focus on a fight who is a big name and want to only fight him. Bobby Czyz wanted to fight Hearns for years saying he could beat him. Little did Bobby know that Tommy beat Andries who beat Czyz.. Tommy beat Hill who beat Czyz.. Bobby blew his chance to be at Tommy's level. and Antonio might blow his chance to be a Floyds.

after watching margarito vs clottey it became clear to me that mayweather would be too fast for margarito to deal with...i would have to say floyd would win by ud

Get ready for Margarito to dump his belt so he doesn't have to fight Paul Williams. He doesn't want to lose out on that payday in a matchup with Cotto even though Miguel is going to throttle him.

whoa gamo!
i dont think i ever heard anybody say that pbf was getting ten mil from the fight
in fact, it was ME who broke the news on this forum that mayweather was getting $8,000,001 for fighting margarito
if youre the #1 contender (mayweather at the time) do you fight the #2 contender for 8 mil, or do you fight the universally recognized welterweight champ for 8 mil?
