Thank you. I too was screaming at the TV especially in that first round, Mayorga was hit by a left hook he never saw coming. Oscar fooled us all, he didn't need to outbox Mayorga which I had said all along was more difficult than it looks. No there was an even better strategy, BACK MAYORGA UP. Mayorga cannot fight going backwards at all period. Oscar knew this and came in with his hands high, sacrificing some good body shots to Mayorga but protecting his head and backing up El Matador. It worked wonders, just like it did for Tito, and as much as I didn't want to believe it, I think Tito did dent the legendary chin of Mayorga. And Starr, at this point in time a Margarito matchup wouldn't be the best fight for Mayorga, not after this performance. Retirement, or a tune up fight against another valient now ex-champ, Terra Garcia would be the two best choices in my book.Quote:

The thing about Mayorga that I sympathize is that he had alot of potential, quick enough hands, amazing chin, warrior's mentality, knockout power. Unfortunately he was never taught how to box properly or he would have been a great... Very seldom do you see somebody hit has hard as he did from with such sloppy form or throw so many wild punches without losing balance.
:coolclick: for hulk....that was a tough fight to watch....Quote:

No shame in losing to De la Hoya...I still want to see Mayorga-Vargas though...I'm not letting Ricardo or Fernando retire without fighting each other
