Yeah; I was taking the Micheal out of AlexW with a spoof
post...
The truth is I was kind of born into the sport, and had a lot of info drilled into me by my dad. Plus I had access to his massive collection of boxing magazines and books.
But if you ask me anything post 98/99ish, I am buggered ;)
Re: Bizarre But True! - Some Unbelievable Boxing Trivia
well the results of our arguements leaves me like that
<---------
But I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
Re: Bizarre But True! - Some Unbelievable Boxing Trivia
Just some more dumb shtuff:
-Sam Langford is on record having fought Harry Willis no less than 17 times. The count could be as high as 23.
-When Leon Spinks beat Ali for the title, he had only fought seven other pro fights.
-Pete Rademacher fought Floyd Patterson for the title in his first pro fight.
-The youngest pro debut by a fighter was by Baby Arizmendi at age 10.
-The great Alexis Arguello was ko'd in the first round of his first fight.
-When Floyd Mayweather fought Zab Judah, both were wearing long skirt-like leather trunks. This isn't bizarre, just retarded.
Re: Bizarre But True! - Some Unbelievable Boxing Trivia
LOL where is Sal... listen to the comentator after the guy in the red starts falling and dancing...
"Wow... that's like Zab Judah" lol :lickish:

Fact Three. There was once a bout (in modern times) where both guys were knocked to the canvas, as in the movie Rocky II - at the same time!
Fact Four. Once upon a time an ageing heavyweight, while coming towards the end of his career, fought whilst wearing corrective lenses so as to aid his eyesight!
Fact Five. There was once a world class light heavyweight boxer who took to the practice of never washing or bathing for weeks prior to entering the ring for a bout. These strange tactics were employed so as to prevent his opponent from initiating clinches with him, such was the bad odour!
Fact Six. There was once a fighter who was in such desperate need for the toilet during a fight that he had to quit and leave the ring!
Fact Seven. There was once a heavyweight champion who claimed that when a dear friend/relative, who was sat at ringside, screamed to the referee that he was using illegal tactics, he was unable to land the blow that was certain to have finished off his hurt opponent!
Fact Eight. Once upon a time there was an amateur boxer who, when fighting for a local title, was TKO’d by the doctor before the very first bell when his Marvellous Marvin Hagler copied warm-up technique, of hyping himself up by hitting his own face and head, caused a severe nose bleed!
Fact Nine. There was once a world class welterweight boxer who would only fight when there was either a full or a half moon!
Fact Ten. There was once a heavyweight who made a frequent habit of taking a disguise to wear upon leaving the arena, should he lose!
Everyone knows who fact 10 was (don't want to say his name) and I'm pretty sure I know who fact six was (very recent fight).
But fact one, two and four........c'mon man give me a break. Especially Fact #4.....

Marvin Johnson
Wasn't that battling Siki?
Also, there have been a few fights when both guys got knocked down (Ad Wolgast v Joe Rivers in the 1920s, and also a more recent light heavyweight fight. Damn, can't recall the fighters. One was a Brit and the other a Yank, I think. Was one of them 'Mutti' ??
Great trivia knowledge britkid !!!!!! Hats off to you.
